Vacation/Travel/Socializing after surgery
Brent701 replied to lisafrommassachusetts's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eating out gets easier too you wont finish your plate but thats ok. The first 2 months will be very challenging but doable. At 9 months out I still eat most of the foods I was when eating out but the portion sizes are now 1/2 to 1/4 what they were. I wish there were more options for 6-8oz steaks instead of the massive 14+ oz ones that I will never again be able to finish let alone including a side. Its just laughable to look back at how much I was eating. -
Dont forget it on your taxes!!!

I only regret not doing it sooner. The quality of life improvements have been amazing.

Pureed Stage Nightmare
Brent701 replied to kc892020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I skipped the puree for the most part as it was literally ruining the tastes of foods. I did an extra week of full liquid and added in some thicker soups. Softs things really start to open up but you will find out what type digestive hell you are in for. Eggs are rough on a lot of people for example. -

Nobody gains 3 lbs from a peanut butter sandwich or on their apples or whatever it is you do. Yet another paranoid extremist afraid of being fat again. -

Did any of you keep your surgery a secret? I have! Please give input!
Brent701 replied to Freedom&Bliss's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Seems the women are much more secretive than the men about this. Makes sense given the sensitivity. Everyone knows to never ask a woman their weight. -

so judgemental skinny people got it. Not sure what would be worse the judgemental skinny person or the miserable fat person. -

This is for everyone... have you found that those did not support or believe in it were morbidly obese or at least already overweight themselves or was there no correlation to their weights? There was a time I was in the NO WAY camp then I had a friend who's life changed so quickly and I got on board pretty quickly. I have told everyone but I can see why a lot of people keep it a secret. -
21 DAYS SINCE MY RNY AND MY SURGEON CLEARED ME TO EAT WHAT I WANT.
Brent701 replied to Slimming Down Steve's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Anyone else LOVING the tension building here between Steve and Mikey? I am proposing a steel cage match for them to settle their differences. But in more serious matter 6oz of Chili at 3 weeks sounds like a ton of food. That's roughly what I have now at 9 months and would be quite filling. -

at your current weight just close your eyes and you will be down 30lbs before you know it. If its stressing you out just weigh yourself once a week. -
Has anyone made it past the 6 month stall!???
Brent701 replied to Fazzini Bee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
there is not some magic to the 12 months.... Some lose it in 6/9/12/15/18 months etc. Mikey made it to goal in 3 months but he was well on his way before surgery -

Brent701 replied to Fazzini Bee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didnt change anything, I did lose inches the entire time going from a 40 at the begining of the stall to a 36.
