Dec 26th 2018 sleeve buddies out there???
Jean9 replied to Jean9's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My starting weight was 230 and I'm 5'2. I got on the scale and its 220 [emoji16] wow almost exact weight. I was 240 a few weeks before surgery but lost 10 pounds. I lost my mom on dec 20th and I had the surgery on the 26th which was her bday. I am just lost without her. She wanted me to get surgery so I went ahead with it. Just sad she won't ever see my progress. I can't do the protein shakes so I'm eating scrambled egg and water and some carnation instant breakfast. I've also had some soup. I hope my dr isn't pissed at me tomorrow for actually eating stuff. Tonight I had a little mashed potatoes too. They were sooo good [emoji16] I also made some steamed carrots that I pureed. Wasn't hungry for those so will have to be for tomorrow. Jeannine [emoji8] -

December 26, 2018 Bypass Surgery Twins??
Jean9 replied to The 56 Bypass's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Have any of you started to eat actual food? In seeing my dr tomorrow and idk what to expect. I've been eating scrambled egg with a little cheese, split pea soup and jello. I kept getting the hunger pains. I've been fine with the food. I can not do the protein drinks! Jeannine [emoji8] -
Are you still on all liquids?? I havent called the dr because of the holiday so tomorrow I'm calling him. Have to have post OP visit still. Jeannine [emoji8]

Had my surgery dec 26th and doing ok I guess. Still in pain because I have 5 incisions with 1 being really big. Just made a trip to Walmart and walked around and I'm tired. I hate the protein shakes. Am able to stomach 1% milk with instant carnation breakfast, scrambled egg, hard boiled egg and cream of wheat. I feel hungry alot of the time. It's almost a week since my surgery and I'm down 10 pounds. Trying to drink as much water as I can but it's hard. I feel it might be too soon to be eating real food but I'm tolerating it ok so just taking it easy. Jeannine [emoji8]

Maybe you just have a cold. Better to.be safe Jeannine [emoji8]

That's not good! Maybe it's from the tube being down your throat for surgery. My lip is still numb so that's weird lol. Or you could have a cold too. My mouth was so dry for a couple of days but is good now. I want to start eating something more but dont know when I can do that. Jeannine [emoji8]

How r you doing? Now I feel like I have a fever Jeannine [emoji8]

I had my sleeve done on December 26th, 2018. I've been doing really well I think. Only thing that's weird is I get these pains in my stomach when I drink. It's like my stomach tightens up. Anyone have this?? Only drinking water and a protein shake here and there. I dont feel like eating broth. Jeannine [emoji8]

December 26, 2018 Bypass Surgery Twins??
Jean9 replied to The 56 Bypass's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had mine on the 26th. Feeling ok except that I have pain from gas. I actually started passing it last night. Hows everyone else doing? I got out of the hospital last night around 6pm Jeannine [emoji8] -
Hello... I'm having surgery today woohooo. Here at hospital waiting for nurse to come in. I'm nervous but I know it'll be ok. I lost my mom on the 20th so Christmas wasn't good and today is her bday! So I know I habe an extra angel on my shoulder for it. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Yea that was my main concern with people weighing themselves daily. What if you don't lose anything or if you gain?? It would just put you a bad mood. I think weighing yourself once a week or biweekly at the same time and same scale would be a good thing. But what do I know lol I haven't even had the surgery yet. I was just wondering about the whole scale thing that's all. Yes it is important to see the numbers go down [emoji16] best to you on your journey. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

After reading alot of posts on different subjects, I don't understand why most people are weighing themselves all the time?? Do the doctors say to do this? I'm not one to weight myself alot hell I dont even have a scale lol. But once I have the surgery I'll know when I'm losing weight cause clothes will feel better and I'll feel better overall. We are all doing surgery to lose weight I get it but my main reason is to be healthier. Get off the high blood press & cholesterol meds and not having sleep apnea. Maybe I'll feel different once I have the surgery about weighing myself regularly...idk Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

How did your family and friends react?
Jean9 replied to Queenbee34's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I've had that reaction too from a few people. Why can't you just lose weight normally? I get mad cause obviously it's not that easy and not like I've tried! Tons of factors come into play. I think people just might not know what to say about the whole surgery thing. Surgery to some is probably very traumatic. All that matters is that we are choosing to better ourselves. Whether its through surgery, non surgery or what ever other method they need to see that! When's your surgery? Mine is Dec 26th...my moms bday! I sure hope everything goes well! I've had multiple abdominal surgeries for endometriosis and had little gas. Wonder how this surgery will be? I'm expecting it to be a breeze because the other ones I've had were horribly painful! Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

We're practically the same size. My surgery is on dec 26. Everyone is different. Just take it day by day. That's all we can do. We are doing this to better ourselves. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

2018 Study: Weight loss surgery may affect an individual's risk of developing cancer
Jean9 replied to Born in Missouri's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The only bad part of a colonoscopy is the prep! I cant drink the stuff they give you to clean you out. My last one I had pills. It was alot...like 40 pills. 4 or 5 huge pills every 5 min! But it was better than drinking the stuff haha Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Anyone scheduled for December yet?
Jean9 replied to kx2ax5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have only told a handful of people. No one at work except the hr manager cause I had to see if this surgery was a clause in our insurance. I to feel kind of embarrassed about having the surgery. It's like I failed and its led me to have to have surgery. Idk I know I'm doing this for the right reasons so that's all that matters I guess. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Hi...I have the same date! I tried messaging you but it didn't go through. Figured it would be nice to chat with someone who is doing it the same day. I'm glad that there are so many people though having it done in December though. We can all help each other through [emoji16] Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Just did all my preop tests this morning and called the dr and my insurance approved everything so I'm good to go on dec 26th. I asked about a preop diet and they said I just need to be on a liquid diet the day before. That's weird to me cause most things I've read people have had to do liquid diets for weeks??? Its going to be hard cause that's Christmas but I'll do it cause I want this surgery to be a success [emoji16] Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
