Struggling. Jackhammer esophagus
NIKKIBEVERLY replied to Missmiarose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was having a hard time and it felt as if I was having a heart attack and like it was stuck. I found some relief after I vomited. It happens every so often when I eat but now I make myself vomit. Not sure if this is a good thing but like I said it doesn't happen all the time. I do get instant relief after vomiting. I hope you get better. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Can I drink diet soda on my pre op liquid diet
NIKKIBEVERLY replied to Jezzabelle360's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You should probably start training your mind to stay away from the carbonated drinks right now since you can't have it after surgery. Good luck!! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Palmer's Firming Butter with Shea butter, Collagen, Elastin and Vitamin E + Q10
NIKKIBEVERLY replied to CaribeRidge's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think the loose skin is inevitable. I'm right at 50lb weight loss and no matter how much I work out the loose skin remains. I have faith that my muscles will catch up eventually. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

I haven't tried this but I have tried the Medix that was referred by another bariatric patient. Not sure if it's really working but it's a pretty decent lotion. Let me know if yours works. I bought mine off of Amazon. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Trouble with pills
NIKKIBEVERLY replied to Darkstarwon's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I can't swallow pills either and I get all of my needed nutrition through chewable vitamins (doctor recommended). I also have liquid calcium that's pretty good. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
The Pains Of Eating
NIKKIBEVERLY replied to PixxieWretch's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasn't hungry at first either. I just made sure I got my liquids and protein in. Your appetite will increase eventually. Some days I still can go a whole day without eating. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Weight gain after surgery
NIKKIBEVERLY replied to Ibesleeveitworks's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Have you incorporated weight lifting in your workouts? If so weights add weight in a good way. I had my surgery in December too and I had to stop weighing myself so much. I now give myself a weigh in date at least every 2 to 3 weeks. I found that helps keep me sane. Don't be discouraged on the weight gain, it can be a number of things. I'm sure you're not doing anything wrong.. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Hurts stomach to drink water /liquids
NIKKIBEVERLY replied to Faith2Faith's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm not sure. See if warm liquids cause you any discomfort. If that doesn't work you may need to have a talk with your doctor. It could also be that your stomach is still healing. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

There are a lot of good ideas on Pinterest and YouTube..soups are always good to blend up and very easy going down. There's also an app called Baritastic. It has a few recipes on it for each stage. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Two weeks out from sleeve surgery
NIKKIBEVERLY replied to Debbi Moore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There's not really a set goal. Just make sure to stop eating when you feel full. You won't be able to eat a lot anyway. I'm 2 months out and I barely get in 450 to 500 calories a day. Make sure to keep a food diary. I try not to do to many carbs at this time but I do indulge in low carb products from time to time. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
2 weeks off work. Will I be able to clean?
NIKKIBEVERLY replied to DelawareWoman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will be able to clean and do laundry just make sure you don't lift anything to heavy. If you start hurting, take a break. I would definitely take a day off to get things together before the surgery as well. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Poblano peppers (massage olive oil on them first and cut them in halves)-roast for 10 minutes on 400*. Use jerk seasoning and jerk marinade when you cook your chicken. Saute some red onions and add them to the chicken. Also dice some pineapple and add it as well. Once everything is complete stuff your pepper and add your favorite cheese or not. I also added some pickled red onions on top and then baked it for an additional 5 minutes. You can pickle the onions by just adding some lime juice to a bowl and let them sit with an occasional stir for about 10 minutes. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Has anyone had trouble, especially after eating, the feeling of food getting stuck and extremely slow going down? I know I'm chewing my food properly but it feels like a build up of pressure that I can't release and it causes me to panic a little. Today I had to literally bang my back against a wall to burp. After about 5 minutes of walking and banging my back I felt better. I don't think this is dumping but I'm not sure. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
