I get this too - sometimes from not being focused on eating (and as a result eat too fast), sometimes from drinking water too soon after eating.
I've learned over the years to control the slime buildup fairly consistently. I can sense the internal pressure when it's building up, so I might walk around a bit - that helps to jar loose whatever's gummed up the works. Also, taking slow, deep, controlled breaths helps it to clear. And, oh man, it's SUCH a sensation of relief when it clears. Like a clogged drain suddenly letting the water flow. lol
