I am starting my 6 mo. program tomorrow. And I don't have Ins. approval yet. They want an unbelievable am't of info.I pay for the 6mo.and then possibly by then I will be ok'd by ins.If not, I don't feel it will be a waste it all sounds like something I can use and almost necessary for success.Dr. Sewell's book highly recommended going the distance on the 6 mo.pre-op program.

    Lap Band Book

great book.Just finished it. That is how I found this site:)
  6. Hi,I'm also starting there .Tomorrow is my 1st appt. And i too have not made a final decision on the 2 diff surgeries.Dr. Boorse seems to encourage by-pass, but if I remember correctly, he has done quite a # of them. He has just started this lap-band program.I could be wrong but I think he said he had 40 of them done as of the end of Mar. when I was at the meeting. He said he would have a more done by the time our group had surgery scheduled. So was Feb. the 1st time he had an info. meeting?I'll ask that tomorrow. And have you received Ins. approval?I'm having trouble at that end...getting records etc.
  7. Hi to all, Just starting the process.1st appt is tomorrow.6 mo. of programs before an OK for surgery. And I'm fine w/ that, it seems like the right way to go.Having a bad time getting records together.Been trying a month now and I just get shuffled around.I plan on going personally to the office and getting my files to make my own copies. The ins. co wants documentation of failed supervised programs (3min) that incl.among other requirements, exercise, counseling etc. the list is 2 pgs. long.Do others have this problem?I am determined to use the 6mo. time frame to get everything together and it looks like I will need it.Any suggestions?
