    February 2019 weight loss buds

Okay so I’ve got my 6 month follow up next Thursday and I’m keeping my fingers crossed I can lose another 3 pounds by then so I can have a 80 pound loss from surgery day. I just took notes on a couple of your points and I’ll ask some of the same questions. It will be interesting to hear what they tell me as you and I are almost at the same BMI. I’m 5’7” and as of today I weigh 169. Since we both are carrying almost identical BMI, and had surgery the same month it will be a good comparison on what different doctors/nutritionists/bariatric clinics say.

Oh yeah I also think it’s bloat, because the math wouldn’t add up, but when I start to lose my way with logging food, then my loss really slows down. I mostly attribute it to eating lazy— which for me ends up eating more of the things I want (like kimchi, pickles, pork rinds, salads, etc ) BEFORE I eat my protein. It’s tough because there are days when my cravings for fresh veg is almost overwhelming, but right now it’s almost impossible to get >65gm protein unless I make it my #2 priority. #1 priority will always be water.

Looks like a fun outfit for sure
  5. So coming off of a 20:4 day yesterday and planning a 16:8 today. The last bit of my cheeseburger casserole (almost 1 cup) and some olives and feta cheese that got from the olive bar at my grocery store. The p3 will be my afternoon snack, and then dinner will be a recipe I found earlier this year for some keto Tuscan soup. I’ll have to get on their website later to get all of the nutritional for that. So far, I’ll have 31 gm protein and under 7 carbs with these 2 meals. Breaking my fast now (12:30pm my time) with the casserole and olives and will have the p3 around 4-ish and then I’ll have 2 Pilates classes tonite from 5:30-7:30. My hubs is the best so he’ll finish up dinner while I’m away so I can get down to eating by the time I get home and be finished up before 8:30 when my eating window officially closes.

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Okay so let’s look at food logs. If you don’t have any, start TODAY! Right now pre-plan the next 3 days and then make sure you log, log, log. Also, take before and after photos of food. It really helps with accountability. log every single bite and if you don’t eat everything you planned, adjust down the logs. I HATE doing this, but I’m so much more successful when I do. It shows me where I need to improve when I didn’t realize it prior to logging. Sometimes we think we’re eating more protein, less carbs than we actually are, but food logs show us the absolute truth. I just came off of 3 days playing around with some more than usual aggressive IF, and dropped 3.4 pounds of “bounce” since Sunday. I’ve been posting my progress on the IF thread and won’t junk up this thread with all of my before and after food logs and pics, but I’m convinced this got me through this latest bounce.
  7. Okay. So I’m here to post results of my 3 day playing around with more aggressive IF. I started with a 1.6 pound bounce from 170.8 to 172.4 (8-11, 8-18). That bounce really sucked bc from July 26-August 11th I had lost from 179, and I was finally finally on track to lose 10 pounds in a month. Well I’m happy to say that I got on the scale this morning (no poop in over a day now) and I’m at 169.0. Broke through the 170’s and finally have that 10 pound month. Woot!
  8. Whoop!! I love the complete badass ‘tude! You’ll get there sister! Just stay focused and angry about it. Lol, in 2006 I quit smoking cold turkey after having been a smoker for 15 years. When people asked me what my secret was, my answer was that I finally got pissed off enough to stick to it and conquer it. Looking back, the same thing is what led me to WLS. I finally got sick and tired of the unhealthy aspects of being MO, and it freaking made me so ANGRY that I pulled the trigger. Well.... I haven’t had a single cigarette in over 13 years and I damn sure don’t ever plan on having one again ever. I plan to treat MO the same way. I’ll die kicking and screaming before I ever go back to that.
  9. Oooh. Might have to get those recipes from you. I’m willing to give that a shot and see if I like it. For some reason, even 3 weeks PO (when I actually started eating purées) I could put down a lot of cottage cheese. It’s such a slider for me, which I love bc I can always count on it to bump my protein if I’m having an off day.

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

Please be careful my friend, your core will thank you later. I started walking on my treadmill 3 days PO, but it was like 2.5mph for 15-20 mins at a time 2x daily and even then I had to slow down a bit when I could feel my incisions “pulling” Started Pilates at 4 weeks PO, but with restricted core movements (think 10-15 second planks instead of >30 seconds for beginners). All in all, it pretty much pushed me to the limits and kicked my a** more days than it didn’t.

This is why I’m having so much fun playing around with different eating windows. If I absolutely know that I’ll be able to break my fast at a specific time, and I have pre-planned what I’m breaking it with, I feel as if I’m in control of the hunger rather than the hunger having control of me. Each day this week was a different adventure, lol
  12. Okay so the hamburger meat/cheese combo was right when I broke fast at 2:15 my time. Forgot to take either before or after, but it was about 28gm protein for approx 1 cup food. I ate about 7/8 of it. The pics I took there were my food I was taking to work and it was tough. I’ve posted afters on those Ate the p3 at 4:15 and finally finished (except for what’s left) the pork at 6:30. Didn’t drink a single drop of water in between so I’m not sure how I feel about that. Overall I’m glad I experimented with this, but might have to work on less overall volume. Basically if I try 20:4 again I might need to do a protein shake. The only “sweet” one I can stomach is the bariwise chocolate marshmallow. For some reason that one goes down okay. I also might try to experiment more with cottage cheese. That’s a great slider food and has tons of protein. I weigh in tomorrow am and will see what kind of results I’ll get from these last 3 days. Tomorrow I’ve got a plain ole regular 16:8 going— which is where I live 4-5 days weekly.

    Food Before and After Photos

So this is the food I brought to work to attempt to eat in my eating window. Overall I’m pretty proud of it, but still couldn’t finish either the snack or the dinner

    💜AUGUST 2019 CHALLENGE💜

Day 20: Enjoy nature. Well we will be short-handed at work, which means I’ll be putting in extra time at the drive-thru. So I’ll do my best to focus on the outside view rather than be frustrated by getting farther and farther behind. Did an hour long Pilates class this morning, which is some pretty awesome destressor and strength. Spending the remaining time I have before work menu planning the next couple of days and doing some laundry.
  19. Haha. Since I’m not eating yet, I had a bit of spare time to log my foods for the day. This is what I’ve got planned for my 4 hour window: I’ll report later how I actually did. I’m excited bc it’s >70gm protein for the day and no soups, shakes, or supplements to help.
  20. Thanks! Lol, maybe someday I can even get fabulous legs like the rest of you guys! 🤣🤣🤣

Yup. I’ve been doing all sorts of TRE since about 2.5 months PO. As of right now, I’m at 17 hrs fasting and plan on eating right before work in 3 hours. My biggest fear is we will get slammed tonite and I won’t get to “finish” my eating within my pre-planned 4 hr window. You know what though? If it happens, it happens. There really isn’t true failure on this (especially when the mind and body is willing, but factors beyond our control are at play)
