Omg! I totally do the same thing to roasted sprouts! In fact, when I have the time and patience, I will make my own and pre-shred them as much as possible and spray olive oil and then liberally sprinkle on sea salt. Goodness I love the crunchy little outside layers! -
February 2019 weight loss buds

Funny you should post this today. So it’s flu shot season, which means many times during the day I step outside the pharmacy to give shots. Usually I wear my now-oversized smock coat, but we’re still dealing with second-summer and temps are well into the 90’s and I had my jacket off because I had started sweating I went out to give a shot to a “regular” and her jaw dropped when she saw me. She’s definitely MO— if I had to guess, I’d put her between 40-45% BMI— and she couldn’t stop asking me “how???” I thought for a moment as I was prepping the shot and realized I’d be a pretty crappy healthcare professional if I didn’t explain the “how”. What I said went something along the lines of “After years and years of trying and failing on a multitude of different diet and exercise plans, I chose WLS as my tool to get my health and well-being back. It’s taken a lot of hard work and dedication and WILL CONTINUE to do so for my entire life, but I’m committed to making this life-altering change in previous habits and behaviors in order to live a healthier, happier life”. I then gave some quick advice (because she told me she had been thinking about WLS) about checking first with her insurance to see if/what place was covered and then to plead watch videos and online seminars as the next step. Who knows? Maybe it made a difference, but seeing the desperation in that woman’s eyes gave me the opportunity to maybe make a difference -
Thanks for that! Honestly I think I’d be “okay” with just another 10 pounds to get me solidly in the 150’s. Last time I weighed I was 163.4, which was last weekend. One more day and I’ll have worked >90 hrs in 9 days and I’ll have a day off! Waiting for Friday am to get on the scale as my poor feet and legs are puffy from all the standing. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised to be 2-3 pounds up and that’s just something I don’t want to see after I’ve worked my butt off so I might even give the weigh-in a solid miss until a week or more from today. Tomorrow after work I’m on the hunt for a bra that’s gonna give me some boobs. Hubs and I are going to Bartlesville to visit my MIL and go to an art exhibit and throw a football party at her house. I’ve got a cute cute dress for the art exhibit, but the top is pretty large. Lol, I don’t even want the fake boobs for vanity— I think I’m going to need them just so the top part of the dress stays on!

Ugh that’s such a depressing thought. And honestly part of the reason I got metabolic syndrome to start with. As a young teen I started HATING on my legs and tried to diet my way into better ones. 😭😭😭😭😭 Anyway, there is an OOTD with pants. Much better look for me

Love that dress Jeez, I wonder what my BMI will need to get to before I lose my chubby legs. I feel as if they are humongous compared to the rest of me I’m beginning to think I’ll need to lose another 35 pounds (20 pounds UNDER stretch goal weight before I won’t hate mine

Definitely apple cider. I’m so frustrated. Just checked the weather forecast and we’re at 90+ degree days for at least another 10 days. Guess we can have fall in October?

Denied after being approved and devastated

Wow. Just found this. I too have Aetna and they did a VERY similar thing to me. Thankfully I found out they weren’t going to cover my initial place just 3 months into the process, but I had to start all over again right around this time last year. I started right after July 4th at bariatric clinic #1 last year and had to switch in late September and then didn’t get approved until mid-January 2019. Had surgery on 2-6-19 (7 months after starting the journey) and I felt so “behind” and “cheated” of time. There are still days where I tell myself that I’d be at goal by now if I’d only been able to have my sleeve in early November 2018, but the important thing is I got there eventually. Hang in there, do the steps, and take advantage of the extra time to research and work on your head game before surgery day. -
Because day 2 billion in a row waking up at 5am for work warranted a cute outfit. Size MEDIUM Ann Taylor dress I picked up for $14 at the consignment store

I’ve found that I can do sugars okay, but thankfully I hardly ever want them. Things like mayo or too much heavy cream give me stomach cramps for hours. I haven’t had anything fried so far PO, and quite honestly very thought of it gives me the jitters And so far my gall bladder is just fine *knocks on wood -

Thanks. My goal size is 8/10 so I’m really really close. Another 10-15 pounds and I should be there. -

Very soon I plan on going through what’s left of last winters stuff and I can’t wait to finish getting rid of it. CONGRATS on leaving Lane Bryant in the rear-view. Today I put on size 10 pants and a medium top to go to work and it feels AMAZING. -
Day 1 billion in a row heading out to work at 6am

Hubs has family in Jacksonville. My sister-in-law was prepared: when I spoke to her last week she was at the store buying a case of Chardonnay and 16 flats of water. Love a woman with those priorities. Thankfully the storm gave them a miss, but now she’s stocked up on wine for a bit

I’ve decided once I lose another 20 pounds, I’m going to break into @sillykitty house and wear all these cute outfits. Looooove the skirts! 💕💕
-
Yes! That second dress is completely amazing. Lol, I’m in such a conservative rut. Took a pic at 6am and forgot to post. Today’s work outfit for casual Friday. Pants fit way better just 2 weeks ago and are already sagging in the booty Need to wash these in hot water to try to shrink them

My thoughts exactly. I feel like I should carry a sign around warning people “former fat chick, mess with me at your peril!” I’m still going to have to curb my enthusiasm when I see MO patients, but dammit I just want to give them a big hug and explain there’s a way out. Yeah it takes hard work, but there’s a way out

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
Sheribear68 replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Well I’m only 7 months PO, so I have no idea if my loss is due to still being a honeymooner, or if 16:8 is helping. I probably do 16:8 four-five times weekly, depending on my week. When I’m not doing 16:8, I usually do 18:6. Occasionally I do 20:4, and once I even did a full 24 hour fast, but my restriction doesn’t allow me to have feast days without protein shake supplementation so I’m not really pushing the longer fasts so much ATM. When I hit my next stall, I’m planning to use IF as a way to bust it, so I like the practice I’m getting now. -

Checking in! Squats definitely done! My Pilates also doubled as yoga so I’m good! Lol, I plan healthy meals every day so day 6 will be a breeze
