You know it’s funny. Now that I’ve soooo close to maintenance I’m almost becoming more afraid of carbs than ever before. Hubs and I are trying to decide between 2 potential vacations (like real vacation, not 2-3 days of sneaking away from work for a long weekend) and between the 2 destinations in mind, I’m leaning toward the less indulgent of the 2. Previously an all-inclusive in Cabo would’ve been my dream. Now a museum/walking/history trip to DC is winning....

Awesome job! Okay, so for you what does OMAD look like as far as calories/macros? I’m thinking about adding OMAD to my repertoire on days off -

Good advice. I love experimenting with this and it’s kinda funny/frustrating at the same time. Lol, I remember for the 3 days pre-surgery when I was on liquids only, I scarfed down a whole container of the PP in about 90 seconds and was still STARVING (or at least my body was telling me I was). Glad to not ever go back to that again, no matter how much I struggle now One thing I did notice today around mid-afternoon is my hunger came back today and I made good use of it. Put away a whole cup of cottage cheese and 2 ounces rotisserie chicken at noon, them ate again at 3. I had a p3 thingie because I wasn’t expecting to be hungry and didn’t have anything ready. Then dinner was flank steak and salad mix and I actually went back and had seconds on a couple more bites of the steak. Still only about 800-900 calories, but loads of protein -
Nonsense! Today is “your day”. Enjoy as much as you can and know we all care about you. 💕 Lol, so now I’m curious to know what each of my limbs weigh. I swear if I have regain, I’ll have to choose which one of them has to go! 🤣🤣🤣

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability

Okay so I’ve determined that I’m a fabulous faster, and a terrible breaker-of-fasts. Yesterday (day after 26 hour fast) I STRUGGLED to get in 800 calories. The bad: My sleeve is crap at holding any kind of volume after more than a 18hr fast and extending it to 26 hours made it even worse. 4 ounces of Premier Protein shake filled me up yesterday morning, for goodness sakes. I ate over a 14 hour window (finished the last of the PP at 11:30pm) just to have time to get it all in The good: I’m learning and practicing still for that day when my restriction isn’t as pronounced and I’m learning to not get freaked out by skipping a meal (or two, or three....) On my fast day I had 270 calories and 30-ish gm protein Yesterday I had 70gm Protein and almost 800 calories. If it hadn’t been for the 30gm in the premier protein (took me 3 sessions to get that all drank) I would’ve fallen way short. Weight last Friday am (prior to weekend booze-fest) 162.2 Weight this morning (no poop in 2 days) 162.4 Usually the weeks I work til midnight I don’t get on the scale much bc I’m so puffy, so I was pleased to see only a 0.2 pound bounce. Will get back on the scale in 2 more mornings to see where I am. Gonna follow 16:8 for these next 2 days -
So what are you unable to eat now?

I keep holding onto hope that eventually me and eggs can be friends again. 7.5 months PO and I still really can’t tolerate them well. -
Same same I love them also and will actually be able to wear them now without sweating like crazy bc I’m cold all the time now

I’ve got one of those weird science brains that grooves on numbers and test results. I was the kid in grade school that would cry if I got a 98 instead of a 100 on an exam. I’ve tried in my life to back off of that all-or-nothing mentality but it takes conscious effort. For me, I’d just really like to know from a curiosity standpoint where I am as a baseline for the start of maintenance (for some reason it doesn’t bother me too much that I’ll never know exactly what a train wreck I was pre WLS) As I move through my 50s, I want my bones to stay as dense as they can and want to keep as much muscle as possible. I’ve never been particularly coordinated or skilled athletically, but I do groove on being strong (more in a yoga/Pilates way than a strength-training kind of strong way)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! Lol, one of my besties also has her bday today. So now I’ve got 2 special people to keep in mind today
-
Thanks for the info guys. So I’ve decided that my bday present to myself next month is a dexa scan Lol, normal people just wouldn’t get it, would they?
-
Okay so I realize that I don’t have any size 10 black pants. So I’m wearing the oversized 12s today for a last hurrah and decided to pair it with a top that’s form-fitting it looks a little balanced. Also of note: I put my shoes on before snapping the pic. 😂😂

And speaking of training, I’m bout to head out the door for a level 2 Pilates class. *gulp* Well I did want to challenge myself so hopefully I don’t find myself totally in over my head.

February 2019 weight loss buds
Sheribear68 replied to TheMarine79's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Okay so your post here is sending out warning lights in my head. Please my dear don’t force anymore “les than optimal food”. By all means force water and protein, but ice cream needs to be very special occasion only or else that slippery slope gets really slick. Tracking for a few days sounds like an excellent plan and I bet if you restrict carbs for a few days some of the “fluff” you’re worried about diminishes. Lordy girl, I’d kill for your legs, but we are all going to have parts we aren’t happy with. My biggest problem area always has been and always will continue to be my legs. About the best I can hope for on those without plastics will be “chubby” -

I can’t remember.... are you in the maintenance thread? There’s some really good posts in there and I’m starting to follow it so when I get there in a few weeks I’ll have some kind of a plan -
Wow. Dexa scan wasn’t even part of my program. Didn’t realize that was even an option. Wish I’d thought of this before my insurance reset June 1st.

Keep reading, keep posting, keep fighting to get that surgery date. It will happen with focus and hard work!

Anyone NOT track their calories?
Sheribear68 replied to bodycando's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Okay so I’m an inconsistent tracker, but I use the tool as a way to check in on myself randomly, but not haphazardly. I do have a method to my madness While I “get” the fact that tracking and logging everything can be tedious (and can tend to make one obsess about every bite) it’s also a great tool to know for sure that you’re where you need to be. All of us are expert enough dieters to know most basics like the amount of proteins, carbs, and fats in many common foods, but it really does help to see it all in writing when trying to evaluate where we are and if we’re currently on track. I do what I call “cluster logging”. I’ll go hard core for a few days to a couple of weeks, then go in cruise control and eat a lot of the same things over and over. When I’m either tired of the rut or want to make a change, then I’ll change up what I’m doing and go back to logging everything. Very soon I’m going to start transitioning between pure “weight loss” mode into “maintenance”. Lol, I know that very soon I’m going to need to keep way better food logs and am prepared to spend the necessary time and effort to make this a success -
I’ve also got a perspective for y’all I’ve lost about 84 pounds since surgery date on 2-6-19. That’s an average of about 2.7 pounds per week which is at the LOWER end of the 2-4 pounds/week average. I’ve had 2 major stalls in which I didn’t lose much weight to speak of, but the INCHES were flying off of my body. Always always always measure before deciding that you’re going to “fail at” WLS. I’m not even 7.5 months post-op, but I’m going to hit GW sometime within the next 4-6 weeks. And that’s me who is at the lower end of average weekly loss and hitting a couple hard stalls along the way.

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
Sheribear68 replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Okay so it feels weird quoting myself, lol Today went really well Had some hunger around 11:30, which not surprisingly is about the time of day I break fast most days. I pushed through it with extra water and at 12:45 had a cup of the bone broth and salt. Work was crazy as expected on a Monday and I had planned on eating some leftovers at 6:30. I ended up eating them at 8 which gave me a 26hr fast. I contemplated skipping and trying for a 36hr fast, but it’s so hard for me to eat in the morning that I got scared I might not be able to hold much food so I chickened out and ate tonite. All in all, I only had about 220 calories worth of food so I drank a cup of milk when I got home. Probably finished the day at about 40-45gm protein which isn’t horrible for a 26hr fast. Tomorrow my plan is to eat 800 calories and get in 65-70gm protein in a 10 hour eating window -

Thanks guys. lol, I’m the queen of disorganization myself, but Anna is super kind and I’m always such a big fan of hers. November feel free to chime in with any questions or concerns, we’re more than happy to help out. Research and prep are KEY to success, and as a type A control freak, I definitely understand. Anna, I’m so glad your hair stopped falling out! Honestly I don’t know if mine has stopped, but at least it doesn’t seem to be falling out more. I’ve got a cut and color scheduled for mid-next month for a bday present, and I haven’t had new color since about 2 weeks after surgery. Can’t wait. Girl you’ve GOT to keep drinking that water. So far I’ve avoided the dread UTI, but I think I came close back in July when we took that NOLA trip and I drank about 1500 calories a day in alcohol. Usually I’m uber-hydrated at 80 plus ounces water daily, so it was a radical change. I can’t believe this, but I’m about 7 pounds away from goal and it’s probably going to happen by my 9 month surgiversary. TBH, I knew I’d lose weight from WLS, but never would’ve imagined I’d ever truly hit goal. How many of you guys have an actual plan for maintenance? I’ve discovered that I really kind of don’t have a plan and that’s a bit scary for me. -
Omg the past 2 pages of this thread have me cracking up! Okay so we need desperately to duplicate exactly the workout regimen of the chick in the photos. I think I look leaner than 162 bc of the Pilates I do, but dayum... that chick is smoking hot and I’d love to shrink many more inches off of my waistline and not have to lose a whole lot more poundage.
