    REGRET

It breaks my heart to see people posting regrets about WLS. For me, this has been LIFE CHANGING. I mean, there are many days where if it were acceptable, I’d shout with joy at the top of my lungs and try to get as many people as I could (I’m talking friends and family, not complete strangers— I’m not a complete lunatic) to have WLS so they too could feel as uh-maz-Ing as I do most days. It guts me to see when people don’t have a good experience with WLS

    🍁 OCT 2019 CHALLENGE 🍁

Okay so I’ve basically done the same job for the last 33 years, but there have been places that have been better than others. My job will always be challenging and there are days I want to curl up in the fetal position after (like when I’m working multiple 12+ hr days in a row, but the pay is decent and I’m very good at it. At the end of most days, that’s good enough for me

    🍁 OCT 2019 CHALLENGE 🍁

Okay. One forkful isn’t a cheat so I’m glad you’re not beating yourself up. If-instead of the single forkful, you would’ve zoned out and mindlessly eaten 3-4, then that would’ve been a cheat. Many times I’ve found myself at social events and had just a couple of bites of something I “shouldn’t” but that’s just life

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Looking GREAT! isn’t it funny? Many people seeing us for the first time would never guess that 8 months ago we were scheduled for bariatric surgery. This morning I had an early Pilates class and it was a beginner level class bc that time slot was the only one that worked for me. There were a couple brand new ladies in class— both of them fairly overweight— I’ve done Pilates for 7 months now and know all of the mods to make my workout tougher. One of the newbies said something about it and yet another member said “maybe we can do those things if we can get as skinny as her” Felt surreal to hear that

Hahahahahha. I was about to post almost the exact same comment. It’s weird. First 2-3 months and you drop weight like crazy, then the speed of loss slows, but that’s when the dramatic visual changes happen. I look completely different now after a 10 pound loss than I did with the first 40-50 pounds lost.

Thanks. It’s my first-ever wrap dress (okay, faux wrap) I got it off of eBay and it still had tags on it. Size medium, which is still messing with my mind. I half expected to get it and have it be too snug

Lol! thanks. That was completely unintentional. Okay so I promise I do have big thighs in relation to the rest of me, but those control top tights are a bariatric patients best friend 😂😂
  13. 100% agree. I even went so far as to be in a bit of protein deficit (under 60gm daily) just so I could get in the habit of eating real food to get my nutrients in. I allow myself ONE protein drink if I feel like I need it—otherwise all I eat is non-processed (okay i admit deli lunch meat is technically processed, but I don’t consider it snack food so I don’t count it as processed) food REAL food. No snack chips, protein bars, etc. 85-90% of what I put in my mouth is dairy, meat, or veggies.
  14. I’m 8 months out and struggle mightily to get in >800 calories daily. I’m probably an outlier though bc I avoid carbs (unless they’re in salad packs) and eat primarily meat and cheese and other dairy. Those things take up a lot of room in a sleeve Until you can get in 65gm protein daily with ease, I would focus more on TRE than on trying any kind of fast over 16-18 hours. Even now I pretty much live in a 16:8 or 18:6 zone. Every now and then I’ll do a 24 hour fast, but I waited til 6 months post-op before I tried that

I ❤️ this post! Losing 87 pounds is crazy good progress! I’m feeling you on the excess skin. I’m kinda bummed to realize that for me to truly achieve ALL of my goals, then skin removal might have to be in my future. I’m almost beyond any hope that the places that are really loose and saggy are going to fix themselves, but for now I’m going to take it one day at a time. I posted this in the OOTD thread, but I’m pretty excited bc an outfit I ordered came in and the weather finally turned cool enough for me to start wearing tights and boots. If you would’ve told me that I’d be wearing size medium 8 months ago I would’ve danced and not stop dancing. Now I try to not be upset about having to wear the tights to keep the extra skin sag from showing because it means what used to fill out all that extra skin is now gone

Okay. Bout to head out to work and I’ve pre-logged food. 537 cal, 68gm protein.

I deleted and redownloaded and still can’t get it to do more than flash on the screen, then immediately close. Yes, very frustrating. I’m about to leave for another 10 hr shift and will not get to this place out til after I get home tonite late. 🤬🤬🤬

Lol. I think half of us can’t get on with our phones until BP gets a “fix” for the iPhone update. It’s getting tedious to have to wait until I can be at home on my pad to check out what’s going on here.
  20. I didn’t have hardly any pain to be honest. Just some pain in the solar plexus and really sore abs. 10 years ago I had bilateral breast reduction surgery and I woke up thinking I’d awakened in the depths of Hell because it hurt so bad. I’d rather have bariatric surgery every month than ever experience the kind of pain I had after the breast surgery.

Thanks SO MUCH for those kind words and for everyone putting up with me and my neurotic obsessing during this process. Catwoman7, I definitely hear ya on the bounce thing, which is why my stretch goal is 145 instead of 155. I’m all about giving myself some wiggle room. So anyway, sometimes I have these 2 goals in my head, but yeah... increasing calories is going to be both an adventure and a trial. I plan on doing the same-old-same-old for the next 2 weeks, then after my bday I’ll start to come up with a plan to incorporate more complex carbs—in moderation— and see what that looks like. Today at work I did have 2 different customers ask me when I was finally going to stop losing weight. As difficult as it is for me to truly see myself as normal weight now, it’s impossible to see myself as “almost too skinny”. It’s gonna be tough to figure out how to deal with some of the dysmorphia, but thankfully there is the OOTD thread I’ll be using to keep me accountable

    🍁 OCT 2019 CHALLENGE 🍁

1-4 Yes. 5. No. If I’m going to text someone all night long, then I’ll call instead. When hubs and I first started dating we lived over 150 miles apart but we would have about an hour long phone call most nights 6. Yes 7. Absolutely. And the feeling was returned and we dated for about 6 months. 8. Not the actual phone, but the phone records from the bill. It was the year 2000 and that’s how I confirmed the kids dad was having an affair.

    February 2019 weight loss buds

Omg guys! Goody and sjemle, you guys are beautiful and look so well and HAPPY! There is a thread here called OOTD where many of us post pics of our new outfits and it’s a great way to celebrate where you are at any point in this journey. At first I didn’t want to post anything, but the exercise of really and truly “seeing” yourself has been priceless because it’s so easy to get caught up in how far we still are from goal rather than see how far we’ve already come. I know I was always the person who ran and hid (or always offered to be the person who took the pics) rather than be In the pics because seeing myself was that painful. I imagine many of us shared that phobia and it’s hard to overcome it even though we’ve lost so much weight. I highly encourage both of you lovely ladies (and anyone else lurking on this thread) to start taking regular pics and fall in love with the new you that is emerging
