    Bowel Movement after Sleeve

After wls, it took 10 days till i pooped. After plastics is took 13 (a record which in recently tied during and just a little after going on vacay) Pooping regularly is a lot different for me post wls. Before i used to go 2-3 A DAY, post its more like once EVERY 2-3 days. During weight loss phase, i took Benifibre every day with my morning protein shake nowadays (3.5+ years post), i just go with it sans the fibre. But generally if i haven’t gone after 4 days (unless im on vacay), then i’ll take a dose or Miralax; and if that doesn’t work in a day or two, its time for a glycerine suppository. I almost always go after the first suppository. Twice, though it took 2 days of suppositories before i got to see any poop. In any case, from what ive read constipation is just an reality after wls we need to learn how to deal with in our own ways. Good Luck! ❤️
  2. The bagel extravaganza continues…this time with eggs and brie. Mr. ate my leftovers, so logged 222 calories for what i ate.
  3. That looks more like truffle with lamb vs. lamb w/ truffle! #yum
  4. I only eat pasta when Mr makes it, so since today he made spaghetti with pasta from a bag, i paired his meat sauce with 1/2 a bagel instead. 247 calories, had I eaten everything…which i did not, as the pairing was not as delicious as i thought it would be…tossed the rest cuz no one in the fam was interested in the leftovers.

Chips and salsa and bad eating day

It may not be for everyone (or u) but tracking everything i ate in REAL TIME I honestly believe helped me stick to plan. Seeing the number of calories i’ve racked up in black and white has, on multiple occasions, stopped me from eating more…also contributed to making food choices to go in line with my macro goals for any given day. I still track today (3.5+ years out), and it still helps to keep me from porking out (most times, at least…as i allow myself a good pork out on occasion now lol)

    Potatoes?

During weight loss phase I chose to keep them out of my diet despite being “allowed” to eat them as per my NUT. I didn’t start eating them until a few months into maintenance, but if/when I do, it almost always just for taste (1-3 bites) because they tend to fill me up quite quickly…and i’d rather fill my tum with something more delicious. If i’m having soups or stews or curries with potatoes, I generally finish my meal with (almost) all the potato bits still in the bowl, if i didn’t already fish them out earlier.
  7. It does look big doesn’t it? Its actually probably about only 2” in diameter….i guess i have itty bitty hands lol. Here’s another one i ate about an hour ago. I had to share it with Mr cuz he was all “you’re going to get sick…you haven’t eaten yet”…ah, he knows me well. Anyway, this one was “Vietnamese Coffee” flavoured. 6/10. But sooooooooooo cute!!!
  8. Other than chop off all my hair to a pixie cut around 3 months post, absolutely nothing. New growth started sprouting around 6 months post, and by 2 years post all those chicken hairs were the same length as the rest of my hair which i was regularly trimming (my hair was just below chin length by then) Good Luck!❤️
  9. On Micro-vacay with the girls…they got the late night munchies and ordered Uber-Eats subs, and i was all, um…no thanks. So i went across the street to get this salad. Surprisingly delicious considering i dropped the dressing packet somewhere on my way back. I may just eat dry salads from now on! The nutritional label said it was 350 calories for the container, but MFP didn’t recognize it when i tried to scan the bar code, so i just guessed the amounts to get as close the 350 as a could. Ta-da! The leftovers are still in the mini-bar (frozen, cuz I accidentally put it in the freezer section), and am probably gonna toss it.
  10. Omg TWELVE months pregnant…that would be a sight to behold 😂 Yay on the stall breaking and boo about the hair…but like u said, its all par for the course, so hang in there. P.S. Keep an eye on the fish oil intake it may cause lower blood pressure (among other things in high doses) and with the already lowered blood pressure due to surgery and weight loss, you may get woozy. Good Luck! ❤️
  11. Fun snack just now: Earl Grey Macaron. As delicious as it is adorable. 80 calories (already in my tum and contemplating having another)
  12. Breakfast/lunch a couple hours ago. 189 calories, ate it all.
  13. Where are the pics of the kids meals??? We need them. Now. 😂

    Straws

They gave me a straw at the hospital lol. Used it then and still do (am 3.5+ years out). I actually found them very useful in the first couple weeks when i was too sore to sit up and take my sips. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  15. Yep, can u tell we’ve got a whole lotta bagels???? Lol. Here’s another one for the first meal of the day with some chicharron and vinegar for dipping 😋 509 calories for the plate, will eat the rest a little later.
  16. 1/2 a bagel w/ cream cheese, smoked salmon and capers (plus an espresso martini beforehand). Am just about to sit down and eat this and I anticipate eat it all 435 calories (including the martini)
  17. ….also this has me fondly reminiscing of our stint in Brisbane when it took us a good week to get used to the terminology 😂

  19. Never had a scallop soufflé but its now and the list 😍
  20. Yummmmmm. I’m especially drooling over the kids’ plate….anything under cheese and sauce is a winner lol

WHAT does religion have to do with me having surgery??????

Thank you. I just have to say, I’m not religious in any significant way, but this is probably the best response to a specific post i’ve read on here ever. This was the perfect answer to the question, for reals.

    Spousal support?

In my insignificant opinion, your husband’s statement of “I support you but I don’t think you need this surgery” IS a statement of support AND a statement of opinion. Both are valid. My husband was/is the same way. He is super fit and active and just couldn’t comprehend how surgery could be a better option than diet and exercise (not that it WASN’T an option, just that it wasn’t necessarily a BETTER one). The idea was just not translatable into a language he could understand. But thats not to say that he wasn’t 100% behind me when i did get the surgery. His actions, (despite what his opinions are) in no way deterred, discouraged nor hindered my results and overall experience. He was thoughtful, patient, encouraging, etc, all while still believing the surgery was not necessary. He also didn’t barrage me with this opinion. There was no “i told you so’s” nor micro-agressions. We had discussed it pre-op, he stated his opinion, and that was that. Even now, 3.5+ yrs and 120lbs later, my husband still kinda sees my weight loss as a result of less (and healthier) eating, and increased exercise, lol. Which i suppose is sorta true. He doesn’t give credit to my surgery for getting down to (and maintaining) my current weight, he gives that credit all to ME. And this actually makes me happy (even if I don’t fully agree with him). Does that make sense? P.S. Sorry this was so long!
  23. Are you on a PPI, or any other meds for acid reflux? Painful or burning throat is a symptom of this. (Also, the vodka *may* have contributed as well…it’s advised to stay away from alcohol to reduce presence or worsening or development of GERD)
  24. First meal of day: 1/2 an everything bagel, cream cheese, capers and red onion: 166 calories. Ate it all. P.S. this is the first food i’ve logged since going on mini-vacay for a couple days…I actually kind of missed it! Bonus: came back the exact same weight as when i left (118.8)…but as is usually the case, i didn’t poop while away so i suspect i’ll go down a bit. 🤭
  25. Lol i still love to go to restaurants (and reading the menus!), but there are certain things that i don’t order cuz Mr. make far superior versions at home. Specifically, steak, pasta and pizza! But seriously, that salmon and shrimp plate definitely looks restaurant-y 🤤
