You’ll know when you are ready. I had an initial (also arbitrary) goal of 120. When I reached 127, I decided that was enough. My body, however, seemed to want to stick to that initial goal...these days I bounce around between 118-120 (though this AM I dipped to 117-ish, but I’m chalking that up to a very satisfying poop, lol) ❤️

    The Maintenance Thread

For me, I guess I am still doing alot of the aspects of the weight loss phase (tracking macros, portion control, healthier/mindful eating, water/protein goals, meal prep/cooking, exercise/activity quotas), but just not for the goal of losing weight anymore. So all that still is a large part of my everyday life. I would think it is a good thing to continue with the habits formed during weight loss phase, just loosen the reigns a little. Though I know this is easy to say. I had a bit of a minor crisis when I first got into maintenance mode. I think it was based mostly on fear of regain/failure. It's so cliche, but true: time makes everything better. It's been almost 2 months now since I decided to stop losing weight, and during that time, I've learned to trust myself more and relax. I'm still pretty vigilant though, but the stress/anxiety first associated with it is almost non-existent (almost).

Loving it. I am not all sweaty and flustered in the heat like I have been for many a summer; I have cute summer-appropriate clothes and shoes to wear, and look forward to stepping out wearing them; gone to an unusual amount of bbqs, lunches/brunches/dinners out/get-togethers and have managed to navigate the food aspect of it all well enough in maintenance mode; spending more time with Mr & the Kid doing active stuff I used to always sit out before (running! swimming! rock climbing! riding! hiking!); In short, I've been in a relatively sustained GOOD MOOD. Yay, me. LOL.

Days 11-16 (serious catch-up time...) Arm Challenges: So it took me a few hours tonite (that's including rest breaks in between), but I completed Days 11-16 of the the easy "Sleek Arm" challenge AND 7 sets (!!) of the harder "Toned Arms" challenge. I anticipate that my arms are gonna be seriously hurting tomorrow (they kinda hurt already now ). This is my consequence for missing 7 days of this. ARG! Photo (video) Challenge, Days 11-13: A video of a "campfire" that the Kid and her cousins gathered around to make s'mores over the weekend in my brother's backyard. One of the cousin's middle name is "Grace", and there were probably flowers somewhere in that yard...hahaha Photo Challenge Days 14-15: Hung out poolside at the BFF's house earlier today for a "Lovely LIfe", and "Summer" pic. Photo Challenge Days 16: The swimsuit I wore at said pool. I've worn it twice now since getting it, and I have to say I feel frickin' AWESOME when I wear it. As an aside, I can't say enough how pleased I am with losing the weight...health and life longevity an obvious benefit, the confidence and good-feels just cannot be ignored ♥️ 480.mov

    Weekend Weight Loss

I do/did notice that when I got less sleep, the weight came off much slower (or not at all). Also, do you track your food intake? Are more active during weekend vs. week? It could very well be due to your eating/exercising patterns. Or even the types of food you eat. I was the opposite of you...I would lose larger amounts of weight during the week than the weekends, and I think it was because I ate better (consistently) and exercised during the week vs. the weekend.

Day 10 Such a bea-u-ti-ful day today, went to have a patio brunch with a BFF and ended up hanging out there chatting for 3 hours...we already decided to do a same-time-same-place next week (easy) Sleek Arms Challenge: Done (harder) Toned Arms Challenge: Done *I feel like my shoulders are getting firmer! (may just be wishful thinking though...) Coffee Cup: My everyday coffee cups are not very picture worthy, so here's a pic of a cute little Starbucks espresso cup that we hardly ever use instead, lol:

first, way to go, you are almost there! second, trial and error seems to be the best strategy. I've been very anal about keeping track of everything and trying to notice trends and causalities...works for me so far.
  14. @GradyCat My cousin (not a bariatric patient) has been on the carnivore diet for 3 months. He lost 40 lbs with not a stick of extra exercise. He says he feels great and noticed his energy levels have been way up since starting. He also swears by bone broth as a big part of his diet...I sampled some of his stash and it was DELICIOUS, lol. I know you've been stalling for a while, hope with works out for you

    Pre-op and obsessed?

I'm close to 8.5 months post-op and i'm still pretty focused. I figure so long as your "focus" isn't interfering negatively with your daily lives, then focus/obsess away...it may help keep you on the path longer and straighter.

    The Maintenance Thread

It took a couple weeks, but I think I am now better adjusted to seeing the larger daily overnight losses or gains. During my weight loss phase, I would gain or lose maybe a half to one pound overnight, and I was fine with seeing those small fluctuations. Since being in maintenance the daily fluctuations range from 0-3.5 lbs, and the occasional 3lbs gain/loss would freak me out. I've come to realize that this is normal and nothing to stress over. The weight seems to be hovering around 118-120 on average these past couple weeks; I've gone down as far as 116 and gone up as high as 123, but those seem to be just those occasional fluctuations due to salt intake/time of month/pooping/big meal/don't-feel-like-eating/good sleep/bad sleep/etc days. While the weight is seemingly stable-ish, I am continuing to lose inches. However.......I will not complain this time, because the inches seem to have gone mostly from my thighs and calves, which I am actually happy about..my butt and boobs were for the most part spared the past 2 scheduled measurement days (I still measure once per week).
  17. Congrats! (and wow, your 32 lbs loss looks more like 50!, you look great )

    Non Scale Victories

Yesterday, I wore shorts in PUBLIC for the first time in about 5 years (not counting swim shorts) and I was glad to notice that the shorts didn't ride up at all and not once did I need do that funny just-got-of-a-horse walk to un-wedge them from up in my crotch area. But.......what really blew me away was that I also noticed that my thighs DON'T EVEN TOUCH ANYMORE when I walk. Not even a little bit. I don't even remember when the last time this was the case. Crazy.

I own about 40 or so pairs of shoes and boots. I wear probably 4 or 5 regularly, lol. These are the ones I use regularly these days. From left to right: Wedges I wear to client sites (I also have the same pair in black, but haven't worn them much since summer started); Running shoes for walks/runs; Espadrille sling-backs for everyday out-of-house stuff like errands/shopping/. Finally I'm wearing my crocs that I wear inside the house
