    Where are my water guzzlers?

I'm almost 10 months out. I was a water chugger before wls and still am. I did sip for the first 1-2 weeks after surgery, but by week 2 I found I was able to chug away. I probably even drink more now than I did before. The one difference between now and then is that all that water before made me feel like I was going to the washroom every 30 mins (every couple hours at night!). Now, I go like a normal person. Weird. P.S. I know some my disapprove, but my water of choice is of the sparkling kind. I go through cases of it...I really should invest in a soda stream or something...

You do sound like you are in a better place now . I don't know your metabolism nor age nor exercise routine, but at 1000 cals a day you will likely continue to lose weight, which would likely get you that 5-10 lb loss you want over a couple months. We are the same height, and I slowed down the loss to 2-3 lbs a month at 1300-1500 cals a day. I'd still need to increase my daily cals (to a number i don't know yet!) to totally stop. You'll have to do the same eventually, but you can do that when you are ready to stop losing weight. ❤️

    SWEET JESUS MY HAIR!!!!!

@Lamermaid: So I'm almost 10 months post op, and I *think* I'm starting to grow some hair back..I can see teeny tiny fuzz hairs at my forehead/hairline...I don't see any on my overall head yet, but its a start! Are you still actively losing weight? I suspect the hair starts to grow back when your body stabilizes (which I did about 2 months ago)....

    OOTD

My boobs have shrunk to a mere fraction of their former glory, so they there really isn't anything to sag, let alone perk up (but I will say that since the weight loss, I can now feel relatively comfortable going braless since my "underboob" has disappeared). Note I also had a breast reduction pre-wls, and post-child. As for the tum, I'm only showing the good part. The weight came off my middle section first and kept coming off there, so I'm lucky in that regard. What you don't see (and is covered by the top) is the very wrinkly skin above my belly button. I will give some credit to the yoga and core work I do for the stomach though. Oh, and some credit of the firmness has to go to all the sugar/carbs I've been eating on vacay...I'm totally bloated.

  9. RE: the running/training

Honestly it started with me just doing laps around the kitchen that first post-op week.

In a week, I graduated to walking up and down my street, then to walking around the block every day.

The distance increased, then the speed.

Then I started running little spurts during my walks, then to alternating 1km runs with 1km walks.

And now I can do a continuous 10k (which I totally did for the first time this morning...so full of myself about it today, it’s disgusting.)

Just do something everyday and slowly increase speed and duration, next thing you know you’ll be one of those odd “running people” (who I never understood pre-op, but now totally get, lol)

Thanks for the feedback. I got the 5k walking everydy thing down and now I just need to start jogging parts of it. It feels like an interesting experience so far. (I can only say interesting because I'm not all that positive about it, but Im sure Ill get there.)

hahaha...I have the same thing about going out. I know that I like walking (and so do my dogs), but getting out the door is more difficult than the walk itself. /sigh

    Time lapse photo journal

Man. What a great idea! Now I wish I did this!!! If you have an iPhone (though I’m sure Androids have this option too), you can create slideshows straight from the native photos app. Or, there are a tonne of apps to create fancier slideshows...just search “slideshow” in the appropriate app store for your phone. Cant wait to see your slideshows!!

OMG @shanza !!! I swear was just sitting here trying to psych myself up to post a pic of me in MY bikini !! I think i'm almost brave enough...??? *chews on nails* You look soooooooooo goooooood. 😍😍😍😍😍😍
  14. I try, I really do...but the only thing I really want to eat here is the salad (and these totally addictive mini chocolate chip cookies at the coffee bar). The rest of my sustenance comes from Americanos & Mojitos & Tequila shots...I should do a before and after photo of all my empty glasses...yikes.

First, what kind of magic is this? How are they the perfect length for both the heels AND the flats?? Are you kicking your leg forward in the flats pic? Second, def a keeper the cut at the waist make you look tiny there! You practically disappear when you turn sideways (and you look taller)...
  16. Yup, I did it! I RAN my SECOND continuous 5K ever this morning! There is an option to do a 10K Sunday morning and I'm going to give it a try. It's basically the 5K twice. Even though this is a girls' trip, I kinda wish Mr. was here so he could witness my awesomeness.

@FluffyChix, no it wasn't on the beach nor was I wearing a bikini, but I think I should get bonus points anyway, just for doing it a second time 😎

  21. You said it, sister. I can eat the same things over and over and over again for days and days and days (and I have). Salad and grilled chicken. These two things are so a part of me I may just tattoo it on my butt.
  22. So this morning I RAN my first continuous 5K ever.  On vacation, no less!!  I had gone to the hotel gym with the intention to do 45 mins of run/walk on the treadmill when I crossed paths with a group (led by hotel staff) who were going off-grounds for a group run.  They convinced to join them and I totally did it!!!  Funny because if I were alone I would have gave up at 3km...the presence of the others brought out my "if-you-can-do-this-so-can-i-dammit"  attitude..gonna join them again on Friday!
