    October 2018 Sleevers

First, congratulations on all your success at this milestone! 134 lbs lost is CA-RAY-ZY. I think you are right, your body is likely acclimating to the new influx of calories, it's probably all "oooohh, calories, haven't had these in a while, lets hang on to them, cuz I don't know how long this is gonna last..." The last 10-15 lbs they say takes the longest to come off, staying on weight loss calories for your height will get you there eventually. Good luck with your appt with your doc/NUT

    October 2018 Sleevers

Hi @Knglover, Welcome to the site! You may want to also check out the thread below, it's for October 2019 sleevers...you'll find more folks at a similar stage as yourself. This one has a bunch of people further along in the process as we were all sleeved in 2018...still a good source of info though

    Dumping

I had my first dumping episode at about 3 months post op. It was from a couple bites of some dessert. In about 5-10 mins after eating it, I got the shakes, my heart started racing and I stared to sweat. Then 5 or so mins after that I got the runs. Then I barfed. Then more runs. I felt like total crap for about an hour then fell asleep. So yeah, it sucks.

    I messed up :-(

Unless you are experiencing pain or something out of the ordinary (barfing/pooping lots/not pooping at all, etc), you should be fine. Just learn your lesson, dust yourself off and start fresh. You will be successful if you stick to your plan. You may not if you don’t. Good luck! P.S. if you are really, really, worried, check in with your team ❤️

  7. @GreenTealael: your tummy must be miniscule. Do you find that your portions are smaller now since your revision, or did you always have the same amount of restriction?
  8. @AJ Tylo: omg. Do u need some help polishing off all that deliciousness???? Im free tonite...

    The Maintenance Thread

I’ve come to learn that our bodies are constantly changing, whether we want them to or not. I’ve lost about 8 lbs in the last 2-3 weeks. I wanted to lose 3-4 lbs of vacation weight, which i did by going back to weight loss calories for a few days...but my body hasnt got the message yet that i’ve since been eating maintenance calories. I think @sillykitty has it right that it takes a several days for changes to show up on the scale. I think if you continue on weight loss cals it will show up eventually.

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

Lol, the octopus and spare ribs are some of the "less challenging" examples of typical Dim Sum fare. I am actually one of the least "adventurous" eaters in my circle of family and friends. There are other classic Dim Sum choices like chicken feet, curried tripe, etc. that my meal companions would order for the table, and I'm all like, no thanks.

Had to google what this was, lol. Next time I go to the movies, gonna get myself a bag of this stuff. Movie popcorn feels so heavy in my stomach.

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

Today, Sun, Oct. 27 Maintenance : 5'2" / F / 1yr PO / 112.5 lbs ...Am done eating for the day so I figure I'd post this now as I will be out and about tomorrow morning. Food choices today were not the greatest, I'll admit. Went to the movies with BFF and our Kids in the afternoon, and basically just ate concession stand stuff (read: junk) for "lunch". Made me feel pretty icky until dinnertime. 12:00pm - Coffee w/ stevia 2:00pm - 1/3 bag of popcorn w/ butter + AN ENTIRE BAG of peanut M&M's (I'm sorry, stomach ) 7:00pm - Salad greens + olive oil + roasted beets + 2.5 oz grilled salmon + 2.5 oz costco garlic chicken leg Totals: 1468 cals - 53g Protein - 118g NET carbs - 82g fat

    The Maintenance Thread

Dumping sucks. It's the one bane of my existence post-op. Everything else I can get used to, but Dumping? Nope. As for "healthy" carbs, you can try sweet potatoes, carrots, beans, lentils, quinoa...

You may be right, 1000 cals may be on the high side this early in the game (1 month po, right?). Can you reach out to your team for guidance?

Yesterday, Sat, Oct. 26 Maintenance : 5'2" / F / 1yr PO / 112.5 lbs ...Dim Sum with the fam for lunch and then dinner/drinks with Mr. & friends in the evening. Now, I said was going to cut back on wine (I haven't had a drop since I said I wouldn't!), BUT I convinced myself that other liquor was fine last night. It was a Halloween party and a good time was being had, so I was pretty convincing to myself. P.S. I dressed up as a slutty cat - no photographic evidence though, LOLOLOLOL 12:30pm - (DIM SUM!) fried turnips + black bean spare ribs w/ sweet potato + grilled octopus + hazelnut cake dessert 5:30pm - 3/4 of Costco Garlic Chicken Leg + 1 tbsp Tzatziki 7:00pm - (DIM SUM LEFTOVERS!) black bean spare ribs w/ sweet potato + fried turnips + tofu pudding w/ simple syrup + 45g chicharron + 5 Avocado chips 9:30pm - 2:00am - 1/4 of a roasted beet & poached pear salad w/ salmon + 1/4 warm apple tart w/ vanilla ice cream + Lychee Martini + 1 Tequila shot + 3 gin and tonics. Daily Menus for Maintenance

It's so good that you have found the weight/level you are happy with. I think for most, trying to figure out what this weight/level is is a source of anxiety. I'm not sure I was born with great metabolism (I mean, I did balloon up to 235 lbs!). I do however run 5km almost every morning and I do some sort of strength training on one body area/part or another for 15 mins every day (i should probably do more than 15 mins - so I can try to firm up my saggy butt - but I hate strength training and 15 minutes every day is what's sustainable for me for now, any more and I would probably start making excuses not to do it). You know, when I do arm exercises I do a majority of it sitting on the couch. Maybe your neck and back issues may allow this? I did notice that when I started doing the strength training regularly my calorie needs increased...

    Hair loss

I started shedding at 3 months. Kept shedding for another 4-5 months. I'm at 1 year now and I have lots of 1 to 1.5 inch baby hairs all over my head. My head still looks pretty threadbare, but it's slowly growing back in. I figure this time next year, it should be back to normal-looking. You are going to lose hair (unless you are one of the lucky few). Just try to remember it will come back eventually. P.S. I cut my hair into a pixie cut so I wouldn't have to deal with the carpet of long hairs trailing behind me. And I can fluff/texturize/volumize it better when it's short.

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

Yesterday, Fri, Oct. 25 Maintenance : 5'2" / F / 1yr PO / 111.8 lbs ...I got in a good amount of calories yesterday, but like @2Bsmaller18, I don't think they were of the healthiest kind. I ate about 1/2 of Mr's dessert last night (the most delicious lemon curd meringue layer cake e-vah) and I had a moderate bout of dumping. I got the sweats and felt faint for about 30 mins. Had to step outside the bar to get some air. I'd like to say it was worth it, but it wasn't 9:10am - coffee with Stevia 2:30pm - Sweet & Sour Pork + Sesame Chicken + Mango + Seaweed salad + Steamed mussel + Tamago (rolled omelette) sashimi + Grilled Octopus + Fried Chicken Breast + Peking Duck w/ Hoisen Sauce + Green Beans + Chinese Broccoli + the insides of a mini cherry tart (didn't eat the pastry shell) + tofu pudding w/ simple Syrup. 6:00pm - 2 bites of grilled chicken w/ Tzatziki + beef jerky + almonds + pumpkin seeds + 5 Avocado chips 8:30pm - 1 Charcuterie Snack Pack (3oz various cheeses & 3oz various cured meats) + 2oz curried mixed nuts 11:00pm - 1/4 of a hamburger patty w/ mustard + 1/2 a Lemon Curd Meringue Layer Cake. Totals: 2258 cals - 113g Protein - 102g NET carbs - 146g fat

This is probably a good idea. Especially if you aren't down with preparing stuff. Do you like avocados? They are pretty high in calories and are a healthy fat. Plus I find that most people find them pretty slider-ish, so they may not make you feel so full/stuffed.
