    Daily Menus for Maintenance

Yesterday, Wed, Oct. 23 Maintenance : 5'2" / F / 1yr PO / 113.0 lbs ...soooo it looks like my lack of success in reaching the 2000 daily cal mark lately is starting to show on the scale. Yesterday's intake was a paltry 1200-ish due to various distractions and this annoying cold I'm nursing. Going to make a concentrated effort to up cals and sustain a higher daily cal average starting today. In any case, here is what I ate yesterday: 10:00am - coffee with Stevia 12:00pm - 5oz grilled chicken + 1 avocado + carrots + Tzatziki 3:00pm - leftovers of my 12pm meal + coffee with Stevia 5:00pm - beef jerky + almonds + pumpkin seeds 9:10pm - 2 tbsp protein ice cream + 2 tbsp peanut butter Totals: 1210 cals - 86g Protein - 39g NET carbs - 73g fat

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

Yesterday, Tues, Oct. 22 Maintenance : 5'2" / F / 1yr PO / 113.7 lbs ...today was an OFF day from my PPI (I am currently doing 2 days on, 1 day off as a wean-off strategy). And it looks like spicy stuff needs to get off my menu for a while as well. The stomach was NOT pleased after the 7pm meal. 8:00am - coffee with Stevia 12:30pm - salad greens + olive oil + carrots + half an avocado + 1 snack size can of lemon pepper tuna 3:00pm - half an avocado + 1 poached egg + 1 strip of bacon + 1 snack size can of spicy thai tuna 7:00pm - 1 cup of coconut curry chicken + 1 Pure Protein protein bar 9:30pm - salad greens + pumpkin seeds + 3oz grilled chicken Totals: 1634 cals - 130g Protein - 138g NET carbs - 74g fat
  3. I ran out of salad greens ☹️. Gonna head to Costco after work to restock, but in the meantime, here is today's first meal of day. I already ate some of it before I remembered to take a picture. It's not the prettiest to look at, but it's totally yum. Dunno if I'm going to finish it yet, but if I don't, I'll eat the rest as a snack later. 5oz Grilled chicken + 1 avocado + carrots + Tzatziki 465 cals, 31.9g protein, 8g NET carbs, 30.5g fat

    The Maintenance Thread

Everyone's weight loss journey is soooooo different...and this is the sobering fact of life. What works for Jane doesn't necessarily mean it will work for Jack. Some of us accept this in stride, some of us need more time to get used to the idea, and still some of us rail against it and lament (or rejoice) the fact their experience is not like another's. One person gains at 1300 cals/day, another maintains, and then still another would lose at this level. Not to say this won't change for any of them in the future, but that is their reality, right now. Which is why everyone tells us time and time again not compare ourselves to others. But lets face it, we all do, it's human nature. I guess maybe a better thing to say is, "When you compare yourself to others, use it as a motivator, not as a deterrent to get to (or stay at) a place where you are happy with where you are". Dunno why this made me sad writing this. Gonna go post something lighthearted now! ❤️

You go, brother. Advocate for yourself and seek out those who will support you...shrug off the ones who won't. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

Yep. That is pretty much . She obviously wasn't listening to me, and was just prattling off what I am assuming she prattles off to everyone who walks into her office. WE all know everyone is different and will have varying experiences and respond differently to applied measures. Apparently she does not. Nope, not moi. I think I'm doing great! I've been maintaining between 115 and 120 for the past 4 months*, thankyouverymuch. So yeah, since July Maintenance has been my b*tch...and am confident that I can keep him that way. *aside: the past week I've hovered near the low end of this range, and a couple days ago I dipped below 115. But I know this is because I went on that post-vacay "diet" of 1000-1300 cals a day and I am still working on consistently getting over 2000 again (almost there, but it's taking a little longer as I've had a cold this entire time and the desire to eat comes and goes). In any case, I'm too not worried.

Finally got a chance to get out of my regular work-from-home clothes (read: workout gear) and put on some actual clothes for a client-site meeting:

OK, now this has me thinking, and out of curiosity, want to pose the question to the maintainers out there (and non-maintainers, if you are reading and want to share..) : How much do you all exercise?

I don't think she thinks I eat too little, as much as she thinks I'm too low on the scale for her liking (which i guess could be the same thing??...I dunno). And she didn't come right and say I exercise too much, but that was the impression I got based on her disapproving-pursed-lips-looks 🙄
  16. so funny. when i saw the picture, my eyes automatically zoomed in on it lol

    Steak Temperature

same. I can also eat it at medium just fine (don't prefer it at this temp, but will eat it when I accidentally overcook it this way)

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

Yesterday, Mon, Oct. 21 Maintenance : 5'2" / F / 1yr PO / 114.5 lbs ...so i guess I had me a wine-and-vinaigrette funeral yesterday. I am going to cut down on these two faves of mine for a couple weeks to see if it helps me wean off my PPI. Not sure if I will be able to totally cut out the vinaigrette though...my poor salads will be NAKED. 7:00am - coffee with Stevia 12:30pm - salad greens & vinaigrette + carrots + cucumber + pumpkin seeds + 3.5 oz steak + 1 french macaron 3:00pm - coffee with Stevia + 1 fl oz sake 7:00pm - salad greens & vinaigrette + pumpkin seeds + 5 Parmesan crisps + 4 oz steak with gravy + asparagus + 5 raw oysters with horseradish + 1 french macaron 10:30pm - 1.5 glasses of red wine + 4 squares dark chocolate + beef jerky Totals: 1953 cals - 102g Protein - 70g NET carbs - 106g fat

    The Maintenance Thread

Yes... The new NUT recommended that I add in another meal and snack in my current menu. I normally don't eat until noon, and she said she would like me to eat a meal within one hour after I wake up in the morning and have another snack 2-3 hours later. She said this would help me with energy throughout the day (even though I told her I have no issues with energy nor alertness), and will add calories. She also said that I don't need to track/watch my calories nor carbs and aim for 50-25-25 meal composition (50% veggies, 25% protein, 25% starch). And I may just be being sensitive, but I swear she was giving me side-eye when I told her about my exercise routine. The RN gave me some tips about weaning off my PPI (I still haven't successfully done it). She said lay off the wine and other acids (read: my beloved salad vinaigrette!) for a while and see if that helps. I am very sad about this advice, but I think she may be on to something. My next scheduled appt. with her will be at my 2yr mark. My surgeon said he doesn't need to make any more scheduled appointments with me, but if have any issues (which he said he doesn't think I will *crosses fingers*), just to call.

Me too. I find I actually like logging. It speaks to my inner type-1 😎
  22. Well that's good to know! The Bragg's is on the expensive side. Did a quick comparison though: La Choy has 1g of carbs & 920mg sodium, 10 cals per serving Braggs' 0.1g carbs & sodium 320mg sodium, 0 cals per serving. (Ya, its very small on the grand scale of things, but just something to note...)
  23. I've never tasted Tamari, but Braggs' taste like regular old soy sauce to me.
