    OOTD

So I had THE BEST TIME playing dress up tonite. Me and the Kid went wedding dress shopping!!! I must have tried on about 20 dresses, and here are a few of them. The last slide is my favorite so far. I went in thinking I wanted a tight sexy dress and left in love with a ball gown of all things. OMG it was so much fun....

  4. Seriously, I am really hoping my recovery is like yours! I had already written off any New Years' Eve partying this year due it falling so soon after surgery, but if I can come out 2 weeks later like you did in just 8 days...I think I may have to start shopping for some party clothes now, just in case 😎 P.S. thanks for the compression garment tip, again. I think I am going to order a few different brands cuz based on the size charts, I am not convinced this will fit properly on me...
  5. Ah yes! I totally forgot about montreal-style smoked meat (after Maple and Poutine). Dude, all this food talk is making me legitimately hungry... Absolute personal favourite place in Montreal (is actually 20 mins west of it): Smoked Meat Pete. Absolute personal favourite place in Toronto (is actually in a suburb north-east of T.O. proper): Sumilicious.
  6. LOL, of course. The only other food whose importance rivals that of maple syrup.
  7. Ok, so if you are ever game for a road trip to Quebec (NY is not so far away!), you should try heading to the area north of Montreal and sample some maple-inspired menus in a traditional "Cabane à Sucre" (aka "Sugar Shack") during the maple harvest in the Spring. The venues range from 2 Michelin star establishments to decades-owned family farms whose barns are stuffed with harvest tables to serve meals to the public during maple season. ....and when you get tired of all the nature, you can head back into Montreal and party it up.

WOW. You refrained for over 15 months?! To me, that is impressive. Of course this is coming from someone who goes through a case (6 X 1L) of Perrier (or similar) in a week.

    🍂 Nov 2019 Challenge🍂

Day 27: What are you most grateful for in your country? I'm grateful that the international perception of people from here is generally favourable. It makes for more pleasant travel. I find that when we meet people during travel, there is always a teensy bit of a face light-up, or some kind comment, when they find out where we are from. I think this is because we are stereotypically seen as non-threatening and polite? Whatevs, I'll take it My non-Canadian uncle once told me that he found Canadians to be unassuming and mediocre. He was a little taken aback when I said "Thanks!" Lol.

I have such a long list of Fluffy recipes to try out! I meant to do a version of this a couple days ago, but never got around to it. Not sure how i feel about the jello powder (unsweetened or not) so am gonna someday soon do one with choco protein powder and PB2 (with the chocolate sauce and nuts too of course!). So much food...so little time.

    Daily Menus for Maintenance

Us werido Canadians had our Thanksgiving last month. This weekend just means cross-border-shopping to us, LOL. Also, as the cook/recipe aficionado that you are, do you have a good bone both recipe up your sleeve? A google search results in so many to choose from, and I figure an endorsement from you would be my best bet. Please, pretty please?
  23. I had more or less the same instructions, but with a more gradual progression: 2 weeks fluid, 1 week pureed, 1 week minced, 1 week soft , then cleared for EVERYTHING after that. ...though even though I was cleared for everything, it didn't mean that I actually went for everything. I chose to stay low-cal, ultra-low-carb for the entirety of my weight loss phase. This was against my NUT's direction, but she wasn't overly concerned with my choices. 🤷🏼‍♀️
  24. You're a dude, taller and with a higher starting weight. Your progression is going to be different from the female, shorter, lower-starting-weight perspective. Listen to your body, and follow your prescribed plan if it works for you. Which is exactly what you are doing. 👍🏼 With that said: Take direction from the medical professionals with a healthy dose of self-advocation/research. Not all doctors/NUTS have the same view, and a single view may not be applicable to all people. Also: 40 lbs in 5 weeks is A-MAY-ZING.

    Unsure

When you bumped up your cals, you likely increased sugar and carbs? I've heard/read (and experienced myself) that sugar begets sugar. When you introduce sugar/carbs regularly into your diet (especially after avoiding it for so long), you are going to crave it more. To tame the cravings, you can try removing/reducing your sugar/carb intake. There may be a hump you will need to go through though, which may be challenging. Good Luck ❤️
