...also I just used water and ice for mixing up my protein powder, and would 1-2 teaspoons of instant decaf coffee crystals and some Benefibre or Clearlax for some help in the bathroom department

Coconut milk is relatively high in fat and is a staple in the keto diet. Not sure you want to drink it regularly during the initial weight loss phase when your ability to take in food is low...

Feedback please!! Sleeve verses bypass

My surgery and subsequent recovery was very uneventful. No complications, minimal pain (I only took pain meds the first day/night in hospital, then nothing after that), and no regular nausea* *I did (and still to to a lesser extent) get nausea and other side effects (racing heart, lethargy/tiredness, diarrhea) if I eat too much sugar So yeah, I do dump. But this is all self-inflicted, lol. The worst is when I eat regular-sugar ice cream, yikes. With that said, if you poll enough people, you'll probably get a whole spectrum of experiences -

Hi @Jack Wood, it wasn't really clear from your post and profile, but did you have surgery already? Planning to? Thinking about it? -
Feedback please!! Sleeve verses bypass

I think your best bet would be one that YOU are comfortable with. Barring any previous history of GERD (which you dont have) either choice will likely give you success so long as you follow your plan. There are potential problems for both (for any surgery for that matter) which you can never really predict. Good Luck! -

Yesterday, Thu, Nov. 28 Maintenance : 5'2" / 1yr PO Sleeve / 113.4 lbs It it just me, or can anyone else predict when they are going to see a gain or loss before getting on the scale? Further, the majority of the time I am eerily scary of knowing beforehand what my actual weight will be (with a margin of error of 1-2oz). For the past two mornings, I got it exactly right. Maybe I should work as one of those weight-guessers at fairs on the side.... P.S. still sick 9:30am - coffee w/ stevia + chicken broth 12:30pm - a couple pea shoots + napa cabbage + carrots + vinaigrette + 1 slice bacon + 1/2 avocado + 1 tbsp of egg 2:00pm - 1 Love Good Fats Keto coconut macadamia nut bar. 5:00pm - 1 cup dashi broth + 1/2 package shiratake noodles + 2.5 oz bbq pork + 5g pea shoots 8:00pm - 1oz bbq pork + 1 oz almonds + 1 fl oz pumpkin seeds + 1 oz candied ginger Totals: 1051 cals - 55g Protein - 46g NET carbs - 65g fat

yeah...LOLOLOLzzz I must confess, I am a sucker for crispy skin...maybe I'd have to cook the meat and the skin separately then. There have been frozen turkey turkey breasts on sale for a while now since my own Thanksgiving so am going to try this out
-
Oh forgot to ask also: did you sous vide with skin on?
-
So you did broil then? For how long? (and did it dry out any afterwards?)

aaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww 😍

@Healthy_life2 & @catwoman7...but did we at least enjoy our Thanksgivings? ❤️ Which brings up a question. So both of you are pretty far out and doing the maintenance thing like pros. Do you experience stress/guilt/anxiety at all after indulge days like these? Or are they now just occupational hazards?

Day 30: What experience this month are you most grateful for? That I QUIT SMOKING (again)! *Crossing fingers I will never put myself in a position to have to quit again*

Partner/ spouse support
ms.sss replied to Nomorepasta's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since losing the weight, I feel like my marriage got even better. But not just my marriage, but my other relationships as well (including my own relationship with myself) I gained a sh*tload of confidence and patience, as well let go of a lot of hangups and anger. This change in me does wonders in how I relate to others. My marriage totally benefits from it. On the flip side of things though, I also don't have room in my life anymore for those who I deem unhealthy for me and mine. I am no longer so eager to please nor do I bend over backwards to keep peace. So yeah, good relationships will flourish, not-so-good ones will fall by the wayside. -

Salad FAIL 😧 I ran out of salad greens so I just took whatever veggies where in the fridge (napa cabbage, pea shoots & carrots) and tossed em up with my vinaigrette. Well, turns out I don't like raw pea shoots, so I painstakingly picked them out one by one after the first bite. Also, I tried to recreate that baked egg and avocado thing that @MarvelGirl25 posted a while back, and I guess I left in in the oven too long, as the yolk was disappointingly UN-runny. So that was banished to the edge of the plate as well. *sigh* and I was so excited to eat it too . -
Technically it was 15 years ago. I convinced Mr. to marry me again on our next family vacation (date and destination TBD). The first time around was a destination wedding as well, so I figure we should do a repeat...but this time it will be much smaller . Truth be told, I really just want an excuse to wear a super fancy dress! LOL, see excuse above.

Yesterday, Wed, Nov. 27 Maintenance : 5'2" / 1yr PO Sleeve / 113.9 lbs I haven't gone for a single run in 5 days now cuz of this stinkin' cold (as well as eating consistently less cals than normal). It may just be in my head, but I swear, I think I can actually feel my muscles disappearing... 9:30am - coffee w/ stevia + earl grey tea w/ stevia 12:30pm - salad greens w/ vinaigrette + enoki mushrooms + 3 oz grilled chicken + 3 oz roast pork + 1 Love Good Fats Keto Chocolatey Almond Bar. 3:00pm - 2oz almonds + 1 oz candied ginger 8:00pm - 10 mussels in white wine sauce + 2 tbsp seafood chowder + 4 buffalo chicken wings w/ 1 tbsp blue cheese sauce Totals: 1438 cals - 89g Protein - 51g NET carbs - 84g fat

Day 28: What about your home are you most grateful for? Just the fact that I have one, I guess. It's easy to take this basic stuff for granted when dealing with first-world problems. HAPPY THANKSGIVING, USA folks ❤️
