MUST. SEE. BOOTS.

I love that you obviously like spicy eats! I also love some kick in my food, but I notice that have lost some of my tolerance for heat post op for some reason. Also, if I have too much I now get a bit of indigestion (didn't before ). Has your tolerance changed at all post op? Or did it stay the same?

What was your diet pre op like?
ms.sss replied to Ninja-slash-nerd's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I did 2 weeks of 3 shakes a day (Optifast powder + water). The second and third day was rough, but was smooth sailing after that....hang in there! -
Wow, that's alot of food for sub 1200 cals...you and Fluffy have skillz. Also, impressive 5 lbs loss! you did that in less than a month, yes?
-
@Meadow76, it occurred to me that I should state that as a further FYI, the menus posted on here and most of the folks commenting are a bit further out than you are, and are in maintenance already. You probably don't want to model your behaviours with ours just yet ❤️ Rock your weight loss phase first, and you can enjoy the fruits of your labour later. You'll thank yourself 6 months from now.

True. Though I was drinking carbonated beverages (in the form of sparkling water/Perrier) during weight loss phase with a couple drops of "water enhancers" I carry around in my purse everywhere I go. It was a good thing to nurse when everyone else was drinking/eating. Everyone's team has different degrees of opinions on carbonated drinks as well, though. My team said to stay away because they felt carbonated drinks where too filling and I wouldn't be able to fill my stomach with actual food if I drank it. Also they said it could cause painful gas. Again, I told them I was drinking it, and it wasn't causing me issues (in fact I liked the fact that it made me burp, helped clear out gas, LOL), and they were/are cool with it. I still drink it now, LOTS of it. But again, check with your team and let them know whatever you decide...

LOL, yes, I have no real issues with alcohol . I had my first (partial) drink at around 1-2 months. After that, only on special occasions during weight loss phase. Once I got into maintenance, I drink more often (mostly when I'm out or have company over, which is probably once or twice every couple weeks...oh and of course when on vacation!) I don't drink as much as pre-op as I get drunk much faster on much less (but on the flip side, I also sober up much faster). Now, my team also told me to try to stay away from alcohol in general, but the nutritionist only shook her head when I told her what and how much I was drinking, and my surgeon wasn't/isn't concerned at all. Check with your team, and let them know what you are doing whatever you decide... P.S. I also mostly drink dry wines and spirits/distilled alcohol (lower carb content), and I very rarely use full-sugar mixers in anything.

Are Premiere Protein shakes snails in the Toronto area?
ms.sss replied to ColoradoCanuck's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hiya! You can get Premier Protein (ready-to-drink) easily in T.O. I've seen them everywhere...it's probably cheapest at Costco, but if you don't have a membership, Walmart is your next cheapest bet if its not on sale anywhere else -
No objection here. LOL

I think for someone as far out as you (i.e., 4 months), maybe eat all your protein first, and if you have room you can go to town with the salad that you portioned out? P.S. I'm more than a year out, and I normally finish my greens first, if I can (cuz I ❤️ salad). But I am not in danger of missing my protein goals anyway, so it doesn't really matter for me. -
Trying to kick Sweet craving and Carbs bread
ms.sss replied to YellowBird19's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
^^ Second this. When I eat carbs (i.e., sugar), I want it all the time, when I don't, I don't miss it. If you can get through about 3-5 days of ultra-low carb, then the cravings will go away (well, at least that is my experience....) Good Luck! -
Yesterday, Mobday, Dec. 9 Maintenance : 5'2" / 1yr PO Sleeve / 115.8 lbs ---------------------------------------- For the past several weeks, I've noticed my coffee consumption has grown exponentially. Yesterday I had TWO LARGE coffees before noon. That's a total 40 fl oz of coffee, just in the morning, LOL. Oh, and I did it again: had a stinkin' Kinder Advent Calendar chocolate yesterday. But at least this time I didn't go nuts on nighttime snacking afterwards... ---------------------------------------- 9:30am - 2 coffees w/ stevia 12:00pm - salad w/ vinaigrette + cucumber + 1/2 oz cheddar cheese + 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds + 6 oz grilled chicken 3:00pm - 1/2 cup cottage cheese + 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds + 1 oz blueberries + 1.5 oz beef jerky 5:30pm - 1/2 cup cottage cheese + 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds + 2 oz blueberries + 1 oz chicharron + 1oz beef jerky + 1 mini Kinder Chocolate Advent Calendar Egg. 9:00pm salad w/ vinaigrette + carrots + 5.5 oz Keto bacon-wrapped meatloaf + 1.5 tbsp non-Keto glaze + 2 Keto Coconut Macadamia Fat Bombs ---------------------------------------- Totals: 1755 cals - 152g Protein - 63g NET carbs - 89g fat

Surgery Day! and beyond: Part 2
ms.sss replied to mousecat88's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Yeah, I'm a 30B (though the bra fitter said 28C would probably be better, but I have yet to find this size off-rack). So, I tried it with a bra on underneath, it's a bit better. Then, I put on a tank top w/ shelf on underneath and its even better! Problem now is that the upper arms of this shrug is not nearly as snug as they should be, I think...I suspect its because my shoulders are too narrow for the cut and the fabric is slipping off... I tried it on with a long sleeve top on underneath, and again its better, but I think I just need a smaller size, instead of all this MacGyver-ing. -
It's NEVER too late ❤️ Tracking your food and posting it for accountability are great first steps to get back on track!

Yesterday, Sunday, Dec. 8 Maintenance : 5'2" / 1yr PO Sleeve / 115.5 lbs ---------------------------------------- I was feeling bloated yesterday, which I suspect was from the snack overload the day before that, so I made a conscious effort to cut back on carbs and drink lots of water. My abdomen still feels pretty firm this morning though, so may have to do a rinse and repeat today...will see how I feel when its time for first meal of day. ...or maybe I am just due for a good poop. LOLOLOLzzzz ---------------------------------------- 10:30am - chamomile tea w/ stevia + 1 Grande Starbucks Blonde Soy Americano Misto w/ 1 pump SF Vanilla Syrup 2:30pm - salad w/ vinaigrette + cucumber + 1 oz almonds + 1/2 an avocado + 4 oz grilled chicken 6:00pm - salad w/ vinaigrette + cucumber + 1/2 oz cheddar cheese + 4 oz grilled chicken w/ 1.5 tbsp cranberry-balsamic pan gravy + 1 Love Good Fats Keto Coconut Macadamia Bar 9:00pm - 3 garlic & roasted red pepper chicken wings + 2 tbsp blue cheese dip + carrots + celery + 3 gin and sodas ---------------------------------------- Totals: 1830 cals - 93g Protein - 22g NET carbs - 102g fat

Hiya @chayarg !! Glad to see a 2+ year maintainer on here Is your listed menu a typical day for you at 2+ years out? (In terms of calories & macros?)

I've been sick twice. Re: BARFING: Haven't barfed due to sickness, but I have barfed due to food/surgery related issues (dumping, eating too fast). The main difference between barfing pre- and post- for me is that post-wls, my stomach contents come out much easier. Like there is no heaving, just a "slippage" of stuff coming out, you know? This may be different during illness though, when there is nothing in the stomach to throw up. Re: COUGHING: Now the thing that is annoying is the coughing. Post-wls, my coughing (when I'm sick or not) is very unsatisfying and inefficient. I find I have these very shallow, weak coughs that basically aren't doing what they are supposed to do. So it takes several of these coughing "huffs" to clear anything out.
