A Tale of Two Arm Lifts (rs & ms.sss)
ms.sss replied to ms.sss's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
BREAKING NEWS: I wore my pre-op jeans yesterday for like 8 hours AND I didn't feel like I was going to bust open the buttons! Also, I measured my waist this morning, and it is back to my pre-op measurement!! If you remember, I had swelled to +5.5" in that area, yikes. ...I continue, however, to be on lower-belly and upper-thigh watch for any signs swell decrease. Le sigh. -
Nope. NOT. AT. ALL. Of course you are not a terrible person. I've seen the effort you have put in the past couple months, and I get you are probably feeling pretty sh*tty at the moment. We've all been there. And it sucks. And it's challenging to pull oneself up. And that sucks too. It's really nice you have the ability to recognize you need to clear your head. Do what you need to do to refrain from beating yourself up, and when you forgive yourself, get back on that train you were riding for the very next meal. You have been doing awesome, one day doesn't take all that away. *hugs*

Sorry, right I should clarify..I don't consider the daily changes (I actually rely on a moving average). I'd look at the numbers at the end of a given 2 week period vs the numbers at the beginning of said period. Also as side note: during weight loss phase, my weight would fluctuate +/- 1 to 1.5 lbs every day; in maintenance I've been known to fluctuate +/- 3 to 3.5 lbs day to day.

@MarvelGirl25 : sounds like your fam is like ours...we don't do birthDAYS, we do birthWEEKS (and week long anniversaries too, lol) ...also these tarts/pastries made my stomach MOVE just now. #yumYumYumYum ...am already planning on asking Mr. to take us to the bakery after lunch today when he gets back from his run... #futureYUM -
Everyone has a different definition of what a stall is, unfortunately. I don't know about everyone else, but for me a stall is when a person's weight does NOT move up nor down, AND their body measurements does NOT increase nor decrease, for TWO CONSECUTIVE WEEKS, while all other things remain equal (i.e., the person makes no changes in diet nor activity level during this time). So based on this criteria (which I realize others may not subscribe to), I never had a stall.

Weight loss slow down
ms.sss replied to msilva_777's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good point @catwoman7...didn't realize there were two different posters probs on here! Oopsies @msilva_777: what @catwoman7 said. Also it would help others troubleshoot if you updated your profile with your stats and provide a couple day's worth of data of what exactly you eat/drink in a day. @MissPennyP : see above... -
Weight loss slow down

From your screenshot it says you consumed 300+ calories for breakfast... What was your total calories for the entire day? (I'm unsure if the 668 shown for calories is total consumed? Or total remaining?) -

Oooooh those shoes! I love me some sparkle!! So far am very pleased with my PS results esp my boobs. I'm still carrying what looks like a 3 month old fetus in my belly (which I reealllyyyy reaaallly want to go away already) but i am very happy with the smoothness of my abdomen...no more wrinkled fabric! My only soreness now is along the incisions of my underboob, my arms and tummy are just tight now, but no pain, yay! Now I'm occupied with wondering how my scars will turn out... 5 lbs is a lot to remove! (I had a measly 400g removed, lol) Can't wait to see how your new bod will look in your gala dress...hope you post some pics so everyone can bask in your awesomeness.

Yay! Congrats on all your work! Shopping is awesome, right?? Running is even better ❤️

For those who have lost 100+ pounds
ms.sss replied to lbugher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
ALL. PAIN. GONE. (well at least the weight-related ones, lol) Back pain, foot pain, hip pain, knee pain. ALL. GONE. P.S. I lost 120 lbs. -
From the album: ms.sss OOTDs
Case in point. This dress is an XS. It's a little big on me up top (the straps are def too long and need to be shortened; a little too much extra fabric bunching in the sternum area), AND the dress will probably end up being a little big in the lower tummy area too whenever the swelling goes down (you can see the fabric stretching over my early-stage-preggo-looking belly). However. Despite me having absolutely no place to go to wear this to in the near future, it was like $23 (Canadian) dollars so I figure, why not? 😉 -
Look at those PERKY ladies!!! Excellent work, Ms. Surgeon. Wow. Do you LOVE them @Sophie7713 ?????

Has anyone chosen to shed relationships as well as pounds post surgery?
ms.sss replied to RobertaMSN's topic in The Lounge
I think its because generally, the weight loss sort of triggers a confidence thing in you and you begin to realize your worth, which in turn makes you more likely to reject those who don't. -
3 years out and can't lose a pound.

Depending on how tall you are and much you weigh right now, 1200-1500 cals may be your maintenance calories (and could be why you are not losing weight).... -
Are you in weight loss mode or maintenance? I only started having fat bombs when I got into maintenance, and for the purpose of reaching a higher calorie intake without the carbs. With that said, there are a couple of sites that I like that have some good fat bomb recipes/info: https://www.thedietchefs.com/?s=fat+bombs https://www.ruled.me/comprehensive-guide-fat-bombs/ P.S. Costco sells a coconut-dark chocolate fat bomb snack that is a staple in my pantry. P.P.S. Chicharron will also fit the bill (plus its high in protein as well..and CRUNCHY!)

I think the unwanted weight gain later down the post-wls road is due to loosening of habits and generally eating more volume or more higher-cal foods without any offsetting exercise. If you catch the weight gain before it gets to big, you CAN work your way down to a comfortable level. Losing 5 lbs is much easier than losing 20. I think the key is to stay on top of it. P.S. But I'm only 1 yr, 3 months out, so I may still be wearing my rose-tinted glasses...

While I've always held toxic family members at arms length (and still continue to do so), I have let a couple friendships go by the wayside since surgery. Not so much that I "dropped" them, but more like I stopped putting in so much effort to keep the relationship going. 🤷🏽♀️ -
@DaisyChainOz, @Arabesque ... am totally thinking of both of you this very moment as I watch the final set of the Millman-Federer match at the AO... I am riveted and literally screaming at the TV...

Did you surgeon tell you how long not to touch? Cuz my surgeon instructed me to start massaging any at my 3 week post op appointment....?
