  1. β€œReunited, and if feels so good...” I feel like my salad intake has decreased dramatically lately... Anyhoo, today’s lunch: SALAD! Romaine, carrots, cucumber, cheddar, corn kernels, pumpkin seeds, snack size can of spicy Thai tuna & my fave vinaigrette...399 cals for the entire thing (i think i made this with tad bit too much optimism, will likely not finish this in one sitting...)
  2. Safe travels tomorrow, @Darktowerdream...and will be sending you good vibes Monday! ❀️
  3. Be kind to yourself ❀️, you just had major surgery. Yeah you lost your sh*t, but you had the ability to get it together eventually and had an honest and constructive conversation with your husband, AND come up with a mutually acceptable plan. That's a win in my book. P.S. It does get better, if you let it. Go Girl! ❀️

who can tell me is waist trainer useful ?

@Suzi_the_Q : so all this corset talk sent me down the corset-research rabbit hole yesterday, LOL. While I am not really in the market for a corset for its waist-cinching abilities, I started looking into them because I AM in the market for a lower abdominal cinching/compression/squishing device. As I mentioned earlier, I had a tummy tuck almost 6 months ago have have been wearing an abdominal binder to address the swelling (doc says it can persist for up to a year. a YEAR!!). The binder is just a basic elasticized "belt" with a velcro closure that I wrap around my lower abdomen/hips. My problem(s) are that (1) my waist is relatively smaller than my lower abdomen/hips (there's about a 9-10 inch difference) so the top part of the binder gapes alot and is forever riding up to move OFF of where I want it to stay. Angling the velcro closure to make it it fits smaller up top, has the same effect. (2) My hip bones seem to stick out further out than the dreaded swell bump, so I can't seem to get a snug enough fit/compression level across my lower abdomen for my liking, AND I end up with sore hip bones from the friction from trying to pull it tight enough. Sooooooo....I thought maybe a corset would do the trick, since there would be a real fit through the waist to the lower abs (to prevent ride up), and could possibly also address the hip bone protrusion situation because the added help of the steel busk down the front (to compress my lower abdomen without pressing down on my hip bones). Anyway, this is my long-winded lead up to ask: When you were corseting, did you also find that there was alot of compression to the lower abdomen? I'm thinking a body suit corset would do the trick, as the more traditional ones without the attached panty *look* like they are still pretty loose at the bottom hem...? I get there are no actual bones to move around in that area for any permanent squishing, I'm really just looking for some effective compression on my swell bulge for my current body shape. Or am I going down the wrong rabbit hole for my needs? Thoughts?
  6. We've been on the same wavelength food-wise for a few days now, lol. Let's see if we come up with the same thing again tomorrow.... Also, I LOVE that you share our BP shenanigans with hubs and he responds in kind ❀️
  7. I'm leaning towards @Deemar007's response. It will be more beneficial for you now and in the long run to take on the weight loss journey yourself, vs. relying on others to adjust their habits to accommodate your chosen lifestyle. If you can succeed without the need for others to change, your successes will be in YOUR control, and theoretically be longer lasting. I know this is easier said than done. Especially since you are only 3 days post op. The first week or so is the hardest. If you can, take the time and make the effort to sustain lasting change, you WILL NOT regret it. P.S. Though I do also agree with the other poster that it wouldn't hurt to ask him not to bring sandwiches to bed. He can chose to decline your request, but I would think it's a fair request...I mean, even just from a hygiene and bug potentiality perspective... Good Luck!

    Plateau/Regain

How tall are you? I'm 5'2", 115lbs and I maintain at min 1800 cals when I don't exercise (I can take in more when I do). Though in any case, I agree with the above poster. Log your food (if anything to determine how much you are really taking in), and adjust as needed. Good Luck!

    Safe NSAID usage

One of the reasons that I chose sleeve over by-pass (based on my research) was for the ability to continue to use NSAIDS (Though the joke was on me - sort of -, because after about a month post-op I didn't need them anymore). In any case, I took them for that month immediately after surgery and had no issue, and didn't do anything different to take them. I did make sure to discuss with my doc first. Generally, sleevers are allowed to continue taking NSAIDS so long as the prescribing doc sees no health risks. So maybe check with your doc first (just so they are aware and know what to look for if anything should go awry), but I think it should be ok. Good Luck!
  10. I got Mr. to make his world famous hand-made pasta and I made a bacon, roasted corn, garlic butter cream sauce with seared bay scallops to go with it. I don't know why I served myself this sized portion (about 3/4 cup in volume) when I really had no intention of eating it beyond a taste. I did eat most of the toppings though. Fam ate everything...there were no leftovers! (even my picked-at saucer was cleaned off, lol)

who can tell me is waist trainer useful ?

Lady, you look smoking hot. πŸ”₯ As for β€œwaist trainers”, I think I also agree that for any lasting change to one’s shape, longer term use of corsets with steel boning would be the route to go. I’m also not sure that wearing these contraptions while working out is the best idea, though. With that said, for some anecdotal evidence, I wore an abdominal binder post plastics (and still do actually - im about 5.5 months post tummy tuck) I wore/wear it pretty much 24/7. I do notice that there is TEMPORARY waist-cinching effect. I say β€œtemporary” because if for a day or so, IF i happen to wear the binder a little higher or lower on my abdomen, my waist shape will change accordingly. Again, based on anecdotal evidence, I’d say the effect lasts about 12-24 hours. Soooo...for the OP, you can try the corset path, or some plastic surgery (which I believe @catwoman7 correctly pointed out will be limited based on your natural shape in the first place). Or...for a much more drastic alternative, the removal of your lower ribs. I think Cher did this?
  12. Looks good, also looks like you hardly had any rice at all, lol. P.S. Im with you though, i still shy away from rice (surprisingly haven't had any since surgery - 1.5+ years! ...and i used to have it almost every day. I even went from a sushi and maki lover to a sashimi lover lol) P.P.S. I love all the food pics u post ❀️❀️❀️
  13. I have the soup broth first, then the solids. If I have the liquids along with solids I’ll get full really quick, or barf. Interestingly, I never have/had an issue with liquids before β€œeating”...I can drink right up to the first bite of food no problem. But I def have to wait 30-45 mins afterwards (unless its pork, in which case I have to wait a little longer depending on how much pork I have). Weird.
  14. Oh....duh. I thought they were some sort of low-carb alternative for some reason, lol
  15. BBQ Season continues...Grilled veggies, grilled sweet potatoes & grilled salmon w/ some teriyaki glaze on the side... (I had about 3oz of salmon and about 3/4 cup of the veggies...passed on the sweet potatoes and the honey-heavy glaze...)
  16. Excited for you! WLS is/was awesome, and plastics is like the cherry on top. I had a tummy tuck w/ muscle tightening w/ flank lipo 5.5 months ago (plus AL + BL). Below is a link to before-before-after of the tummy tuck.
  17. I want a GT butt too!!!
  18. ...its funny because when I was bigger, I thought I was smaller than I really was. Now that I’m smaller, I think I am bigger than I really am....
  19. Omg looks delish...what kind of noodles are those?
  20. Take pictures! Find an old pic of a bigger you and put it right beside a pic of a smaller you today. Its hard to ignore when the evidence is side by side ❀️

    Feel So Good Part 2

hmmm...I thought this would be within normal blood pressure range? I am consistently 90/65 and my doc has not raised any concern. (Though i don't have any symptoms/physical issues either, so maybe that is why there is no concern...? I used to have some blackness of vision in the early days, but not anymore...)
  23. At the 3 month mark, my NUT gave me percentage instructions: 50% low net carb vegetables, 25% starches, 25% lean protein, aiming to get to 1000-1200 cals a day. With that said, I chose to do my own thing (and told her so): Try to reach 60-70g protein/day, limit NET carbs to under 20g per day, and let the fat intake fall where it may, aiming to stay below 600-700 a day. At my follow-ups, my team was not so very concerned with my reported diet, and oohed an ahhed at my progress, given that my labs pretty much showed I was consistently in fine health. I admit, I was/am one of those that choose stay away from carbs. I found that it was the key to rapid weight loss FOR ME. However: The lack of carbs did tend to make me look haggard and sickly near the end of weight loss phase. Once I was done losing weight and re-introduced some carbs (I probably average around 100g a day now), my face filled out and I didn't look so skeletor-ish. I still don't eat rice, pasta, bread, white potatoes if I can help it. I did try a couple bites of pasta alfredo a week ago for the first time in 1.5 years, and I hurled. So there's that, lol Educate yourself and choose what plan will work for YOU (everyone is different!), with the guidance of your team. A lot if it will be trial and error. Though, do keep up with your appts/follow-ups to make sure your health levels are sufficient. Good Luck!
