Adding to the end-of-the-white-clothes-embago (à la @JakeH). This is what I wore to lounge by BFF’s pool this afternoon, so I think the semi-nakedness was appropriate. Though truth be told, I sorta like being semi-naked...😂😂😂😂 Not sure if you can tell, but those are pants I’m wearing...don’t think I’ve worn white pants since high school...

When did you get back to exercise?

Agreed. I really dislike weight/strength training, but I do it almost every day anyway because I know it produces results.

    First Post-Op Visit

You know, now that you mention it, I don’t recall discussing weight with my surgeon at my first 3 post-op visits (2 days, 1 week & 1 month). It wasn’t until my 3rd month post op visit that it came up. He said I had reached his expected weight loss for me at that time and considered a “success”. Any further weight loss beyond that was just “bonus”.

Supposed to meet up with a friend for some drinks on a patio tonight, but the rain foiled our plans. Boo. As an aside, jersey-knit dresses/skirts are my new fave clothing items...fitted, but not so binding that I can’t breathe. Only problem is that if I drink/eat too much, you can see it 😂

  8. I’ve tried making both broccoli and cauliflower crusts. Neither if which warranted a second attempt. Let me know if you guys have any luck...

    Plastic surgery must-haves

Oh, and another tip: drink lots of water and start a fibre regimen BEFORE surgery. Pain meds (and any iron supplements you are prescribed) will constipate you! I was backed up for THIRTEEN days. IF u do get backed up, glycerin suppositories can be your friend.

    Plastic surgery must-haves

@kristieshannon: this is the one i used (i had/have two). I got it in size small, and it was too big, but my mom altered it for me to fit more snugly. I wore it longer than prescribed as I found that wearing it kept the it kept the itchiness as bay. I stopped wearing it around 3 months post and am now just using silicone tape (also keeps itchiness at bay!) https://www.amazon.com/BRABIC-Surgical-Compression-Corrector-Shapewear/dp/B07HQPPV74/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=arm+compression+for+weight+loss&qid=1595451281&sprefix=arm+com&sr=8-4
  11. I will be 1yr, 9 months this week. 5’2”, started at 235, lowest 109, now I consistently hover around 115. I can eat pretty much anything without issue except for large quantities of sugar (especially on an empty stomach, yikes!). With that said, just because I can eat anything, doesn’t mean I do. I still stay away from rice, pasta, bread and potatoes. I don’t really eat fruit except for berries, but I do love me some mangoes, so I won’t say no if its around. I am known to eat dessert or occasion (a lot of times to my detriment...i.e., dumping), and drink semi-regularly. In terms of volume (at one 45-60 minute sitting...I need to eat slowly otherwise I’ll foam up, and I don’t have any liquids for about an hour after I eat anything) Meats and seafood, I top out at maybe 3-4oz, after which I get really uncomfortable and may barf. Pork especially fills me up quick. Though I’d like to think I could probably eat a wole package of cooked bacon if I put my mind to it lololololzzz Raw salads, 2-3 cups Cooked veggies, 1 cup My typical meal is salad with a couple oz of some sort of protein on top. The salad is typically greens, cucumber, carrots, maybe some cheese or seeds/nuts sprinkled on top. I always add 1-2 tbsp of a low cal homemade vinaigrette...I think this is actually my fave part of the salad, lol) If its not salad, I’d eat a small portion of whatever I made for the fam (minus any carbs), less than 1 cup in volume total. Same if I go out to eat. I don’t have any set meal times, I just eat when I’m hungry. Open my fridge and you’ll find partially eaten bowls of food that I work on throughout the day (or over a couple days). The first meal of the day is almost always after noon. I TRY not to eat past 7pm, but am often not successful. I maintain my weight on about 1800-2000 average a day, BUT I exercise regularly, so this has to account for that. I don't really know what my cal intake should/would be if I didn’t exercise, and I’m not really keen on finding out. Finally, in terms of appearance (and this is both my opinion and my fam’s): For some reason I look healthier/less guant/less sickly than I did last year, even at the same weight. This may be due to the plastics I got last December, but I didn’t do anything to my face, and I think it looks way more filled in and less droopy than it did last year. I suspect its because of all the extra carbs...I used to take in less than 25g Net carbs, and these days I am at about 50-100g, depending on the day. So yay, desserts? Lol P.S. Sorry this was so long...I’m in an essay-writing mood today 😎

    Plastic surgery must-haves

My mom loaned me her cane for the first few weeks...definitely helped to take pressure off my lower back when I was walking around hunched over due to tummy tuck. Also, a small stool to sit on in the shower was good...it was exhausting standing for so long, and it was easier to wash my hair, as the arm lift prevented from raising them very high, so sitting and lowering my head made it easier to reach. ...and another stool in the kitchen to stand on to reach stuff in the cupboards or fridge. Good Luck! (am excited for you!!)
  13. Oh no you didn’t! This has been on my to-do list for what seems like forever now. Seeing this I have to make it soon already! #yum
  14. I wouldn't worry. I didn't break 400 calories a day until about month 3. And in the first two weeks, I barely broke 400 calories a WEEK. My body did not go into "starvation mode" and I lost steadily until goal with only one "stall" which lasted less than a week around month 4. P.S. The whole concept of "starvation mode" may be misunderstood by most, but that is another story. I agree with @catwoman7, just keep on trucking and you will lose the weight. Good Luck!
  15. Regular lasagna for the fam (left) and a zucchini noodle lasagna for me (right). Also some Keto Crispy Buffalo Cauliflower Bites (used almond meal for the breading, but I did use some honey for the sauce...) Didn’t actually have have any of anything on the table cuz I stuffed myself with all the tasting while I was cooking, lol. Im estimating I probably took in about 300-350 calories doing this 😂
  16. Right?!? What was the recipe (as i happen to have some duck in the freezer!)
  17. What was your answer?
  18. I love wonton bites. So easy and easy on the carbs vs regular tart/pie shells. Yours look nice and even Try brie & cranberry, cream cheese & jalepeño, bacon & fig, blueberries & oat crumble....#yuuuummmm
  19. Well that looks delicious, yum! P.S. Crab fat is is the greenish guts inside a crab’s body cavity (also called Tomalley...you’ll find it in lobsters too). Its a liver-pancreas combo thing. It looks quite disgusting and most people i know wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole. But I think it’s delicious, lol. Its also terribly high in cholesterol and not recommended to eat in large portions due the toxins and other filtered stuff in there. But yeah, still delicious 😂
  20. Yep. I’ve dumped on just a little bit fruit a few times in the early months (now, not as much, but occasionally if I have a lot at once or eat some on an empty stomach) I believe its the high sugar content.
  21. Same. I requested a couple days ago, and still waiting, lol
  22. So this gigantic salad is a whopping 52 calories for the entire thing, LOL. I ate it for both lunch and dinner. At lunch it was just salad, but for dinner I also had a few pieces of sashimi (+200 cals) and about 2 tbsp of crab fat (+155 cals) and a glass of red wine (+172 cals)

    Liquid Diet

I started 2 weeks before surgery. I was supposed to be on 3 protein shakes a day, which I did most of the time, but there were days (near the end of the two weeks especially) that I only managed to take in 2 shakes...which was weird. Other than water, didn't have anything else. Also, I didn't have any issues with low blood sugar...at least nothing noticeable.
  24. I think generally, the first place you put fat on is the last place it comes off.

Did the patio thing last night and wore my newly guerilla-altered skirt. Its a stretchy-jersey material that I got in Size Large last year. It couldn’t even sit on my hips, so I added 4 sad looking darts at the waistband, but since the top folds over, they are nicely hidden. I failed to consider shortening the length so spent alot of time holding it up cuz i kept stepping on the hem! Had a fun time regardless. I heart summertime ❤️
