  1. Depends on the type of fast food...i’m assuming you mean fried, greasy stuff? For me, I loooove the smell, lol! (And even just looking at it!) But when it comes down to actually eating it, more often than not, its more, um, no thanks. I think my fascination with food moved across my senses: from taste/eating to smelling/looking. Weird. I also love to cook, which I don’t even eat. Weird, again.
  2. Same-ish. I can do about 5, and that’s if I don’t eat anything else (i..e, veggie sticks, etc..) ....now I want me some wings!!

5 years post op and have huge REGRET!

Yeah, I don't think it's him either. @Zinthis : apologies in advance if you are not whom the masses think you are. We had a resident troll that was recently booted off the island and your "tough love" advice was eerily reminiscent of his posts. Please don't be scared off!
  6. Re: Insomnia PRE-pre-op, I was always one to sleep relatively little already (both because I had to get up multiple times a night to pee, AND because I just didn’t seem to sleep alot): I probably slept 6-7 hours a night. And on the very rare occasion I would take a nap during the day, I would not be able to sleep come bedtime. Since a few days into pre-op, and the almost 2 years since surgery, I’ve basically become one of the undead. I probably sleep maybe 4 hours at night (but at least with no middle-of-night peeing!), but can run on even less. The weird thing is I’m not even the least bit tired during the day 🤷🏻‍♀️ Im not sure this is because of the weight loss, the type of food I eat now, or the exercise. Most likely a combination of all. P.S. Though I do have a sure fire way to knock myself out: eat something with a bunch of sugar (especially on an empty stomach) and I will be out cold on the couch for a couple hours, after some unpleasant dumping symptoms first, natch.

    Body Changes Post Surgery

    Same.
  8. Had my Plastics done 14 months after my sleeve surgery: arm lift, breast lift and tummy tuck (with muscle tightening and some lipo on the flanks) all in one shot. I had a whopping 400g of skin/tissue removed, lol. Recovery was a little rough (self-imposed roughness...I did not follow doc’s orders about refraining from exercise, so I accept full responsibility), and I tend to scar badly, so some incision areas are still pretty dark pink and raised. But I know they will be better in a year or so, so I’m good with them for now. Today, I’m 8 months post plastics and very pleased with my results.

    Can I eat watermelon?

I love watermelon too, but only started eating it AFTER weight loss phase cuz I felt there was too much sugar in it (but that’s just me). Also, @ChubRub: try adding a bit of fresh mint and a squeeze of lime with the watermelon and feta: DELISH (and blueberries!) 😋 (and a drizzle of balsamic glaze!) 😋😋😋
  10. ...and also you could probably buy 6 pairs of leggings for the same amount of money as one pair of jeans, lol Leggings for the win 😎
  11. Ok, am I really the only one who LOVES wearing black leggings now that I’m smaller?? I NEVER wore leggings when I was bigger (I remember feeling fat in them), and always wore jeans (and always dark wash jeans, lol). I heart leggings!

    Is this it?

@JMA2019 : I’ll give another POV: I get wanting to lose a few extra pounds. I sometimes feel this way, and I KNOW this is ridiculous because I KNOW I don’t need to. I chalk it up to the occasional low-self esteem days or to some yearning for the good old days of weight loss when I was getting immediate feedback results from my actions and had a seeming total control of my body. I know, kinda weird. Maybe ask yourself what exactly you are scared of and you can start the process of letting go of some baggage. Good Luck!
  13. I loved spicy food and still do, and had no real issues other than my tolerance in terms of heat level decreased dramatically. I was easily able to eat suicide-level or thai pepper heat before, but now i’m a bit of a lightweight and my mouth goes on fire at much lower levels (but still no stomach issues with it, so it’s all good).

    Opinion

Are you still in weight loss phase? Keto snacks, while low in carbs, are high in fat, and still pack alot of calories.

    Shapewear

Nah, not weird (i think, lol). I work out with an “abdominal binder” too, one that is geared for exercise. It also helps with back support with lifting, I find.

Well, he’s pretty easy to spot if he does. We can always just all just keep reporting his offensive posts and kick him out again. Eventually he may give up.

    Post-op Pain/Incisions

I had the sleeve, 5 incisions: 4 of them less than 1/2 inch, 1 of them about an inch (this one is the darkest one in the pic below). I had a tummy tuck a few months after this pic was taken, and the 3 scars closest and above my belly button are now below it. The one under my bra line is still in the same spot (which confuses me?) and the last one seems to have completely faded because I can’t find it anymore, lol. Edited to add: pain was there, but manageable. I did not take any pain meds after the first day home (i was in hospital for 1 nite). I was sore, but it was the tiredness/exhaustion that was more bothersome. P.S. FYI This pic was taken 11 months post op. I have a long history of not being a great scar healer (i.e., keloids or hypertrophic scars), so I think the predominance of their appearance here is not typical. I know there are many whose scars were already faded at the same point post-op.
  21. @MarvelGirl25 holy crap i got the food sweats just looking at all that deliciousness. Food porn at its best, lol. Glad u had a good time!
  22. Ok, I’m a sucker for calculators. I’ll play: I got to the “year 1” predicted weight at just over 3 months post-op. I’ve read accounts of others who had similar weight loss rates as well. I’ve also read of others who took a little longer. And still others who lost way more and those that lost way less. The best predictor of weight loss and successful maintenance (barring any complications) is YOU. Your level of commitment and adherence to your plan will tell you everything about how you will fare. It may take “longer” that you want (or shorter!), but keep doing what is working (and adjust when needed), and we all basically get to the same place eventually. Good Luck! P.S. Try not to stress too, too much. Stress and its effects is not conducive to weight loss. I know, easier said, but it’s something to think about. ❤️
  23. Small but significant thing to ponder: stress and anxiety is linked to weight gain/retention. Stress >> increased cortisol >> body’s resistance to insulin >> weight gain and/or weight loss resistance.
  24. ms.sss

    Self rant

What helped for me (your mileage may vary) was to tell myself, that while I can't have X food now (while in weight loss mode) I can have it later (in "maintenance").
