Was waiting in the parking lot to pick up the kid from school, and realized I was doing this: crossing my legs UNDER. THE. STEERING. WHEEL. !! ...I remember when my tummy and the tops of my thighs would rub up against the steering wheel when I drove...

Find #1 from today’s clearance rack shopping... $20 marked down from $80! Supposed to be a fitted jumpsuit, but today’s body dysmorphia convinced me that this size would be plenty tight (it looked so tiny on the hanger!) And since changerooms were closed had to take it all the way home to figure out it was in fact too big (even though the kid kept telling me at the store to get the one 2 sizes smaller). Tried to style it so it looked less “utility” and more “slick”, but then the kid said I look like an airport baggage handler and now I can’t get that image out of my head...soooo its going back. Le Sigh.

Im on a food posting spree today! Made a lasagna (w/ regular pasta sheets) from the fam for dinner tonight, and saved some of the insides (the meat sauce & cheese/spinach mixture) for myself to serve over 1/2 a package if shiratake noodles. Calories for my meal (had I eaten it): 272 calories. Sat at the table with my bowl and just didn’t feel like eating it though. I’ll see if I want it later, but if not I can always eat it tomorrow. Ended up having 1 glass of red wine (130 calories) while the fam finished the entire lasagna...must’ve been good! Lol. -

Body Dysmorphia after Weight Loss

I think as with all things, after some time passes, one would eventually get used to it. I figure rapid-weight loss peeps lose faster than what what their brains can process (especially for those who have been used to being obese for a long time). With that said, I KNOW I am skinny. Now, HOW skinny I actually am, still surprises me sometimes, at almost 2 years out; A couple weeks ago me and the Kid were measuring the circumferences of our biceps to determine who had bigger muscles. To my surprise we actually measured basically the same (I was almost 1/4 inch bigger than hers). I always see my kid as having skinny chicken arms and me as having regular, normal sized arms. It was/is pretty weird seeing the measurements on the tape, but still not seeing it in the mirror. -

So seeing @Pandemonium’s scallops pic earlier activated a salt craving in me for some reason, so fixed myself one of my mini charcuterie plates again for a snack: old cheddar, prosciutto, salami, fig jam & frozen blueberries: 386 calories. Ate about 2/3 of it all, but should’ve stopped at half...am unpleasantly full. Not sure if I will finish the rest later, I’m salted out for the day, I think. Also, I think I had more fun building the little hor d’oeuvres bites and taking pictures of them to make this little collage, than actually eating it. Meh. -

First meal today was a bit odd, even for me: 1/2 a Boston cream donut, 1 slice of bacon and some ketchup. Had the bacon and donut together (surprisingly delicious) as well as the bacon and ketchup together (classically delicious)...but not all three together. The kid dared me but I was all...um no thanks. 207 calories. *I accept full responsibility for the effects on my heart rate that the donut is already having. At least Im not sick. Semi-win. Whomp, whomp. -

I don’t know how accurate my at-home smart scale is (i have the Withings Body+ scale)... Last year (and for the first couple months of this year) at 113-115 lbs, my body fat percentage was in the 12-15% range. These days, i have been hovering around 116-118 lbs and body fat in the 18-22% range (which i assume because I have lost some muscle and gained fat due to my decline in exercise and increase in dessert/alcohol). I don’t notice any specific health/being effects between the two states, and neither has my PCP (i probably had my labs done 3 times in the past 12 months, all of which have been lovely). What I do notice is just aesthetic: i think I look “softer” and less fit/athletic, which I don’t particularly like, but i do like how my face and neck look less Skeletor-y. If I can figure out a way to keep my body looking toned AND my face filled out at the same time, I’d be a happy girl!

At 3 months my hair started falling out like crazy...my bathroom floor was like a carpet of hair, I couldn’t vacuum it up often enough. I cut it short around that time to minimize the amount of hair i left in trails around the house. At around 6-7 months (around the time I stopped weight loss phase), it slowed down considerably, now 2 years post op, i think I shed the normal amount. I have since noticed alot of re-growth and today i am proud to say I can no longer see my scalp through my hair. Below is a pic at 6-7 months vs today. In the before pic, i had zero hairline baby hairs (i had tonnes pre-wls) and though its hard to tell in the pic, one could see the white of my scalp. In the after pic my hair is way more full and one can see all the re-growth of chicken hairs sticking up (once they get longer they should lay flatter) Hair loss is pretty much a given during rapid weight loss (as well as after surgery, pregnancies, anything that is a shock to the system)...see the posts above referring to telogen effluvium....but it also grows back eventually. Hang in there, it’s only temporary!

OMG. Success!!! I actually liked this better than regular pizza!! Its crispy and everything! Fam even gave it the thumbs up, but they are barred from eating more cuz it’s all MINE (they can eat the regular pizzas I made for them). Now I’m thinking I could use this for other bread/crust applications 😎 oh, the possibilities! I ate an entire slice (1/8 of the pizza) but I probably should have eaten less (and slower, dammit), cuz I am stuffed at the moment (verging on TOO stuffed) 1 slice is 155 cals, 1.6g net carbs. Toopings include: mozzarella, pepperoni, salami, sundried tomatoes, Brussel sprouts and jalapeño.
