There are plenty of alternative meds it's only affecting some SLOW/QUICK RELEASE Medication... I take 9000g of potassium everyday for my life and I've found an alternative just by speaking to local pharmacist!! If you're having surgery you only want to do it once and do it right! If you read you will see so so many ppl being made to go from sleeve to bypass!!

Ice will melt. You can walk without asking. But yes be more vocal -
The bypass has been around for decades and is the BEST surgery for weight loss and long term management. The surgery has been performed 1000s of times so there's no reason to be worried. Having the VSG is like doing half the surgery why not give yourself the best chance at success with RNY? Why so many people have irrational fear of surgery. Have no surgery die of obesity related issues or take a little risk in order to save your life? No brainer!!

Tell your husband at his job sites he need enjoy the use of be technology and tools to make his job a little easier? Then why would you not invest in some help and a tool to make life easier in the long run? You still have to put in the effort and everything but surgery is just like a fancy new tool to make things a little better and easier to manage. I don't understand people who talk against surgery, what if his knee went out would you expect him to keep living with the knee or get a new one to me his life better, it's exactly the same thing surgery is new technology and makes your insides work better to fix your body inside and out

What a joke you have to be careful with some therapists who don't understand the weight loss issues. But yes as mentioned above tell them what they want to get the surgery then move on and if later you feel you need help then see a different therapist our goal right now is get this surgery at all costs -
BYPASS is regarded as the best long term success. Higher weight loss overall. Better control of eating due to dumping meaning eating bad food makes you feel ill the rerouting of your system may seem drastic but there's 1000s of people who have changed their lives and the surgery is proven but still need to be ready to change your whole life and eating better!!

Very true, we need to do the best we can for our body and our new digestive system. I'm still months from getting surgery but already looking at protein powder and stocking up on tuna and the like whenever they are on special I've already picked a couple of small air tight containers for small meals and stuff when I do get my surgery as we have to eat small. I'm getting more conscious of fruit and veg prices these days and looking forward to a new way of life, I have max 140lbs to lose clean eating is the way there's no use going through all this surgery just to come out and do half arsed job. Make sure you're ready to commit to A NEW life! -

I'm curious if anybody knows first hand? I have a kidney condition I've had all my life. I take serious meds span K potassium 600mg X 15/day Sodium bicarbonate 840mg X 10/day If I miss my meds for even a week my potassium levels plummets and I can be hospitalized. My condition is rare it's hard to explain but that's what I know. I'm not sure if there will be any issues with a RNY BYPASS since we're told to take vitamins and supplements anyway and mine are just real strong script only!! I know I'll have to ask surgeon when time comes in just curious if anybody had any issues before???

Strong meds will they absorb

I went to my local pharmacist -
I'm glad I actually don't have to pay for all that added stuff here in Australia... Emailed doctor and sounds like a couple of consultations and a dietitian appointment or 2 and that's all we need, plenty of material to read and internet to find recipes and stuff. No hoops to jump through with life coaches and psychologists trying to control our decision. My BMI is all I need to be approved

Well the way I've interpreted things is to give your new pouch and tract time to heal and not to just shove solid food straight into a newly created pouch and system. Give it time to get used to each consistency and texture slowly. Also the less you eat at the start the better chance you'll feel full quicker than if you go to solids, so when it's my turn I'll be taking my time I've already bought some good whey protein to live off the first month, the doctors always say protein and water is most important the first month food is just fuel so why rush going straight to big meals and foods. If I can train my body to get full off protein that's great, if I could live without eating I would just live off shakes and vitamins easy as. But I guess everyone has their own ideas and at the end of the day they are responsible for their own success or failure!

Post Op Question How Much Did You Lose In The Initial 6 Months After Surgery?
New&Improved replied to Mrs.D's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Bypass- better weight loss. Better long term success. One operation which seems everyone is being revised to RNY anyway! Malabsorption to help absorb less calories!! -
So many choices of protein from organic to hemp to pea to whey protein isolate. What is the best for us dealing with malabsorption from RNY BYPASS? I'm looking at whey protein isolate 24g protein 0 fat 2g carbs 110cal per serve 30g

The Truth about Weight Loss Agents...
New&Improved replied to anonymousfact's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I've seen so many episodes of BOTCHED & it still amazes me people will take dumb risks with their body or face or nose just to save money!! Bariatric surgery is intensive internal and a simple infection can KILL you. I've been researching multiple surgeries and surgeons for over 6 months. I've read 100s of Forum posts and numerous reviews before I decide the 2 Top surgeons and then I'll have a huge discussion with them to make sure they understand and treat me like a human before I commit So I say anybody who rushes into surgery without even thinking deserves what happens! Be smart. Common sense! -

Why can't you live without caffeine or soda? The whole idea is to change your life for the better. There's so much bad stuff in a can of soda including tons of sugar!! I hope it's not hitting your weight loss goals

Attended Initial Consultation and Primary Care Visit
New&Improved replied to MattS's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I've been researching RNY BYPASS religiously for months. The way I see it if you can afford it and want help for long term success why wouldn't you go for surgery? RNY is great for people who sometimes lack the control because of the dumping issue with fatty foods and it limits calories absorption. That's the way I look at it. If I can get a little helping hand to fix my health issues and control my life a little better so that I can have a chance at a longer life a healthier life WHY NOT TAKE A CHANCE? I'll tell you this I've lost weight before on my own in my mid 20s I lost 90Lbs in 6 months all by myself but that was gym 7 days a week and very strict 1200cal diet, it was great but after a while it slowly creeps back on so that's why I've finally decided to save up to get this RNY BYPASS to help me live longer!! -
Why are your insurance companies so mean with so many hoops. You pay for a service from them they shouldn't ask you for so much
