    No Interest in Food?

I hope I'll have restriction and lose my appetite. I wish I could live off protein shakes for the first year. Keep the calories low and protein intake can still be up to 100gm a day. I don't even care about eating and I hope the surgery will make it so I only eat to survive not to indulge ever again...

    No Interest in Food?

I absolutely agree with fluffy so many people are so fragile and can't take constructive criticism. They were told by their families for years They were healthy and look where it got them. Maybe if someone opened your eyes sooner you wouldn't be in this predicament. Why are people so fragile these days and can't take a little hard truth. We're actually trying to help people see What's wrong and then make the changes. Surgery is a privilege and needs to be taken care of. You should be ready for it.

    Is this normal

Your so right @FluffyChix People should be eating only protein and very low calories the first few months if they can. Take advantage of the honeymoon period. Take advantage of the loss of appetite. You should only be consuming protein for weeks nothing else. I find it hard that people don't understand the guidelines or try to push their body to eat crap after everything that they went through to get surgery to just squander it away.... Don't be lazy pay attention. If you're unsure ask your Dr. Enjoy the restriction while you can!!!!
  8. There are some people out there that are able to do it all on their own..yes it takes a ton of will and determination but it's not impossible. Others need a little extra motivation and a little head start with surgery.

Enjoy it while you can well the good parts means you can take advantage
  10. You're very early post op so it will get better
  11. Yes any kind of movement is fine like using little weights on your arms or legs. Just don't lay in bed all day walk around the room even if you can't go far... You need to have some kind of activity that will burn some calories

    Full liquids too soon?

That's weird I've always heard low or no carbs. I buy bulk powder with lowest possible carbs maybe 5g a day

    What shakes are good?

Shakes cost so much I buy powder in bulk but you can find websites that will sell individual servings so that you can try it out before you buy a big lot. One site I love is https://www.vpa.com.au/ Pretty sure they ship world wide

The idea is to take your time. Take advantage of the first month where you eat very little keep the calories low as long as you can...

    Protein Blend with Casein

My surgeon said any decent protein is good doesnt matter if concentrate or isolate they differences are minimal. The tip is to find the highest protein content per serve and lowest sugar, fat and carbs. Some even come with added amino acids. I bulk mine in bulk. There's new studies that say casein is fine if it is in a blend with regular whey protein. Whey protein releases quickly, casein releases slowly over the day and the fact it sits in your body is why it's fine. The issue with slow release medication is different because the medicine will move through your body before it has time to release. Obviously if you can afford to pay extra for pure isolate fine but even my doctor said it's mostly only athletes or gym junkies that go on about isolate when the actual figures are very similar I'll give you examples below of the ones I use. WPI ISOLATE $40 kg 30g serve 112 calories 27g protein 0.3g Fat 0.8 carbs WPC CONCENTRATE $30 kg 30g serve 120 calories 24g protein 1.7g Fat 2g carbs So as you they are both good WPI = 90% PROTEIN WPC = 80% PROTEIN So just find one that you can enjoy and the flavor you like because it is important part of your recovery. Some people choose those Premix drinks from premier protein just be careful of sugars and additives Enjoy

Lunch Meeting 1 week Post Op

That's dangerous my dr said no mush until 3-4weeks out. Can't even sip water until day after surgery.
  23. @TeeBeau exactly what my surgeon said, if I can start my diet and exercise leading up to the surgery it's like giving the bypass a head start

    syntrax Nectar Sweets

1g protein? Should be at least 20g up to 30g per oz serve. I have a few options I've bought from 22g to 29g protein per serve
  25. Follow dr advice keep high protein and lowest carbs and sugars. Work hard. Keep active. Don't cheat.
