  4. Hi everyone. I'm new to this room but have been on the site a while. I'm preop going for RNY bypass in 5 weeks. I am from Australia but don't mind talking to girls all over the world looking for friends or more I use whatsapp to msg people overseas. who knows maybe one day I'll travel but if I'm being picky I'll say my age range is 18-25 I'm 6ft0 & my highest weight was 322 I'm currently 285 aiming for end goal of 200 or BELOW if you're looking for a friend or companion feel free to send me a private msg!! (If we both happen to be preop and going for RNY even better) Regards MIKE.

    Need help

Yea all you should be having for the first few weeks is Water and protein shake
  7. Yes agree there's no sustenance or satiety possible with just liquids and such low protein. The shakes are there to keep calories low but also make sure you get enough protein in to keep you feeling full plus you need the protein to help with healing after surgery! That sounds like torture sorry.....

You mean the first ever weigh in preop? Do you have to do 6 months?

    Advice/opinions wanted

It is a huge day for her a huge celebration and so many emotions and hormones flowing through her body. I'm sure she will feel bad after everything is said and done and she's come down from the clouds of her wedding and Honeymoon. It is also possible the age is a difference when it comes to being with all her friends and bridesmaids of her age you may not feel it but I know when I was in my 20s and my mum in her 40s we felt world's apart; as much as I love my mum I don't think I'd ever go party with her or drink with her. So yes you have to take a step back and allow this girl to have her day. I know how you feel my niece and I were inseparable from day 1 but once she got a boyfriend and turned 16 things changed obviously that's what happens as people grow up

    Gastric Sleeve Surgery Booked

Be sure to take it easy for the new years celebrations no alcohol etc preop
  12. Hey there ive been on my own preop diet now for just over 3 weeks eating mostly just protein very little carbs.. Yesterday I started feeling a little soreness in my stomach/kidney area.. I've been reading excess protein may affect the kidneys but there's mixed information so it's hard to know what's true? I've been having consistently at least 100g a day with shakes and tuna cans plus some veggies.. Just curious maybe it's a normal thing in ketosis? The pain was bearable just weird... Tnx

    Terrified I Won’t Lose Weight

As you only 60lbs to lose you may have to be more strict with every thing you put in your body. Those last 60lbs may take some extra effort but yes you'll need to learn a whole new way to eat and drink to lose as much as you can. Yes you will have some restriction hopefully at the beginning but it's still important to be very careful about logging every calorie and making sure to get the right combination of protein and water as well.. It's really up to you and your dedication and motivation to do the right thing!

    Scared

Usually there's other underlying issues before surgery like ulcers and previous surgery and stuff but as above complications are very minimal at best I think it was like 1% with bypass! Its good to do your research though and be prepared!
