Have lost way too much weight
New&Improved replied to sammi123's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I hear ya while I don't mind that I've lost more than I thought possible and I finally feel good about myself it is kind of funny to have strangers thinking I'm a little skinny or am I eating enough etc As above I expect that I'll one day have a bounce back of weight. after the 12+ months post op things can change with malabsorption; while I hope it doesn't I've heard it might so I still check my weight regularly just to be sure I'm doing the right things... It is a long term struggle to keep your weight in check... I'm skinny and I'm enjoying that but I need to gain some muscle eventually Going from high of 322 down to low of 163-165 is crazy! -
Whatever the issue the surgery is meant to help you get over your issues and work out your unhealthy habits and relationships to food.. if you continue to fall back into bad habits every time life gets a little hard you're going to struggle...

Sleeve revision (re-sleeving)
New&Improved replied to klwilliams's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
You're right the DS is extreme but the happy medium is the RNY bypass it's better than sleeve but not as extreme as DS -
4 months plateau - VGS 20/11/2019
New&Improved replied to ruxaradu's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Look at how much Protein you're getting? I say your calories are high for only 3.5 months out I don't think I went over 500 until 6 months but still make sure to get 90G protein and I kept carbs very low... I'm male 35, 6ft0, started at 146kgs I'm now sitting in maintenance around 75kgs so it is possible.... -

Clear protein stage after surgery
New&Improved replied to perfektlynrml's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Yea I was given normal protein shake in the hospital... -
I agree with you for some it is an excuse to indulge.. the whole idea with surgery is to choose a new way of life and not fall back into old habits

You might do well to see a psychologist to help deal with this so you don't go off track

Find a gym or exercise buddy or get like a Wii fit setup...

No such thing as losing too fast... Everyone is different.. I lost over 150lbs in just 8 months now been maintaining that for almost 3 months and feel amazing... But some ppl worry about excess skin.. again I think I was lucky.. -
If you've got issues with gerd and reflux DO NOT go with the sleeve... Bypass is your best option

New&Improved replied to loridee11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Whenever I go shopping I always look for high protein yoghurt and things like that but even now in maintenance mode I still enjoy shakes -

I'm male 6ft0 started at 322 got to 165 then lowest of 162.8 but still around 164-165 most days... I'm amazed you only got to 170 for your height & by the BMI chart you should be able to get to like 140? But I guess everyone has different metabolism... -
Gastric Bypass Peeps: Would you do it again?
New&Improved replied to Barbwired's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I only wish I did it 10 years sooner... It has been amazing... Maybe I was unique but I had no Hunger it cravings for months.. I lost weight quickly and consistently with maybe 1 week stall the whole time.. I lost all my excess weight and it only took about 9 months and I've been in maintenance now for over 2.5 months without gaining even though I eat more now than I did in the beginning... I feel the bypass has changed my metabolism and I can eat like a skinny fit person without gaining anything... I've had no complications at all, yes dumping does make you feel sick but you learn what foods will make you feel that way and then try to avoid them.. my BMI is 22.2 and I'm fit and healthy for the first time in 20 years Don't be scared 1000s of people have the bypass every year... -
Chicken is rough on your stomach it's dry.. try something softer like yoghurt

You're very early out of surgery it may take weeks for your new stomach to fully heal and the nerves and Hunger to stop.... But then again some people are just what's hungry even with surgery.. just take it slowly still don't rush..
