  1. Hello everyone Post surgery I've really started to enjoy my evening cups of tea I have some black tea bags laying around but I was wondering is it better to use green tea or is there an even healthier option out there. I'm using no sugar so I may have to go buy some Splenda or something like equal sachets. I put maybe an oz of soy milk with my tea or even sometimes all black tea.. I never really was into hot tea before surgery so it's good to find something satisfying with next to no calories my surgeon says caffeine is fine just no more than a few cups a day is best. Thank you.

    New Here

Agree with above.. The way I'm going I'll be at goal within 3 months.. I know it will take much longer for my body to catch up and some skin to bounce back.. I'm only one month post op so taking it easy with weights for now until I'm feeling stronger.. I'll eventually need to go to the gym and do more resistance stuff to try tone up but i know it will be a long process even after reaching goal I'm relatively young so that helps of course..

    Married with WLS

It really depends... Some partners like their spouse to stay big so they don't get any attention from other people and they may start to feel threatened once you start to lose weight..

    3 weeks post op

Seems like you might be moving to Solids early and admitted to cheating a few times.. These things can impact your surgery success.. You might do well to go back to liquids and shakes like a detox

No protein shakes 1st week post op??

Yea that's weird I was on water I think for the first 48hrs then they gave me optifast in the hospital
  9. Okay didn't know any of that..how or why do they sell that stuff so easily if it's so bad?
  10. Well I'm new to tea so a few I know of are black, green, peppermint, chai...

    It’s starting to get real.

RNY is the best I'll be 4 weeks out Monday.. Down 25lbs since surgery and 90lbs since I started my journey. 30lbs from my dietitian goal but could possibly lose 40 if I really work hard

    dumping?

That stuff is way too solid and carbs so early... I'll be 4 weeks Monday and I'm still on shakes and just yoghurt... There's no hurry to go to solid foods.. Crackers are way too thick and dry.. Cheese again too dry.. And as above some "protein bars" are full of sugar! Your food should all be soft puree mush consistency this early... You don't want to risk harming your stomach that will still be healing...
  14. Thank you everyone 😀😀😀
  15. Hey everyone I'm feeling great. Been a big journey but I'm losing weight consistently. On average of 7lbs a week which I think is great. Seen surgeon yesterday he's very happy with me. Don't have to see him until 3 months post op. So far 12 weeks since I started my diet 88lbs gone. Surgery was 3 weeks ago 22lbs gone since then. I'm still mostly living off protein shakes with a little yoghurt not in an hurry to start real foods yet and the surgeon says that's fine take your time if you like. Fluids go down easily; water and shakes and a few cups of tea a day. No real issues at all I think I've been very lucky. Well for those who care this is my latest update. I'm planning to hit 100lb goal by Xmas Thanks again for all your support and encouragement. MIKE.

  18. I had RNY surgery 24 days ago and besides some pain the first week I'm doing great no issues getting my water or protein shakes in everyday.. Not hungry that much.. Surgeon said I can have shakes long term if I like but I have been having a bit of yogurt and hummus some days feeling satisfied! down 24lbs from surgery day.
  19. I completely agree.. Unfortunately obesity as a disease is not taken seriously in some places..
  20. What exactly is the difference between RNY and MGB?
  21. Just felt like a change of pace and I love everything superman

Yea liquids are easy for me to but soon as I started yoghurt I felt full for a few hours.. Solid stuff takes longer to go through than liquids...
