21 DAYS SINCE MY RNY AND MY SURGEON CLEARED ME TO EAT WHAT I WANT.
New&Improved replied to Slimming Down Steve's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Still need to keep an eye on calories and protein and fat and carbs... -
Band over Bypass revision surgery
New&Improved replied to juni1080's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I don't see how or why a band would ever be offered when the RNY is one of the best surgeries available...? A band is old technology with known complications.. I have heard that the bypass can be revised by overstitch to tighten the pouch up if needed... I don't know what the band will do to help if the bypass didn't do it already... -

Discouraged and need advice
New&Improved replied to Seimmaj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Waaaaay too much sugar in regular and sugar turns into fat... Water them down or look for sugar free cordial -
Yeah I'm nearly 3 months out and still get most of my protein from my shakes... 30g protein. 1g fat 2g carbs 150kcal

Gee some ppl like to live in a fairy tale...not everything is roses and peaches and not every negative is a positive.. We need to experience and embrace pain in order to grow and it builds character... I had a lot of set backs as a child and I learnt everything happens for a reason and it has moulded me into who I am today Unfortunately it means I don't like to sugar coat anything..

Did the sleeve help anyone with fertility?(esp 40 or over)
New&Improved replied to SassyBee53's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Fertility rates drop dramatically once a woman hits 40. but it's not impossible of course to get pregnant -
Don't stress thisis the best decision you could make

3 months surgeon check up soon
New&Improved posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hope everyone is doing well I've just made appointment to see my surgeon for my 3 months post op check up. I'll be doing blood test for all the vitamins and nutrients; Blood test says: IRON STUDIES,B12 FOLATE,VIT D, FBE, LFT/ELEC CRP TFT LIPIDS HDL LDL 2.5 weeks until I see the surgeon should be good I know he'll be very happy with my progress. since day 1 of my journey nearly 5 months ago I'm already down 127lbs and 61lbs since surgery. currently sitting at 195 would like to get to 185 maybe even 180 but I'll see how things go. 😀 Should be picking up my rowing machine this coming week which should help with toning.. I'm getting very excited for the coming year ahead! THANKS Mike. -

gastric bypass side effects
New&Improved replied to skyewolfe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the RNY bypass but my surgeon chose to make my stomach bigger than a pouch yet smaller than a sleeve and I'm glad because I didn't have any issues with hitting my liquid goals in from day 1 I rarely have any hunger at all don't even think about food all day like I used to.. -
To sleeve or not to sleeve, that is the question!
New&Improved replied to curvee gêne rosa's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Bypass or mini bypass I think is best option -

Effect on families
New&Improved replied to H8thissurgery's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Another fake story to try discredit surgery.. This man had many demons that had nothing to do with surgery if it's even true. I see this person only joined 2 hours ago..... -

New&Improved replied to kc892020's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I agree with working out and things post op or post goal as above it may take months of hard work to see a difference in the saggy skin but it's not impossible as @AZhiker said!! -
6 month of diet monitoring prior to surgery
New&Improved replied to shawnt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some ppl are so close to the bmi requirements they're not allowed to lose weight or they'll not qualify for surgery. so the 6 months is just a formality.. -
