How did you know that you were done losing?

Yeah I hear you... I started at 322 and thought it would be nice to get under 200 maybe 185 but here I am 7 months later at 172lbs and still seem to be losing but very slowly of course.. I've upped my calories lately but still seem to be stable sometimes for a week other times I'll lose a lb a week.. I'm not sure exactly if I'm done losing weight it seems the bypass has really changed my metabolism I have added some carbs lately but still seem to be losing or maintaining not gaining.. I've lost 150lbs in 7 months without even really exercising. it's amazing to see 172lbs on the scales and people starting to call me skinny or to tell me to stop losing...lol

  6. felt like uploading a brand new photo. 5 months since I began my weight loss. 3 months since RNY surgery. HW 322 SW 256 CW 190 Feeling good; confident for the first time in my life. I'm still losing but slowly I think I'll get to 180lbs but that's about it then I plan to start a regime of weights and stuff to try build some muscle tone and deal with some belly flab. comments very much appreciated!!!
  7. Old Post....... I'm now 5 months post op doing really well I do indulge here and there on a sugar free energy drink and has not caused me any issues at all.. Lost 150lbs since my pre-op 7 months ago 😁
  8. To the men, big men 300+ (30-40yo) if you had low stamina or libido prior did it change after Major weight loss? Not meaning not interested in it but so unhealthy and unfit you feel you'll have a heart attack during sex But also I guess if men noticed more stamina and libido I thought it's actually a genuine topic? Not trying to be crude Tnx
  9. Well I hope everyone is surviving with this virus issue? Here in Australia things are going ok just the issue of supermarkets being raided and hard to get toilet paper before everyone buys it all... But no quarantine or anything yet... Umm I don't go online as much because I'm happy and doing things my way... Fired my useless dietitian months ago... I started this diet journey 7 months ago pretty much to the day and I've hit 150LBS lost I cannot even fathom it. I never ever thought I would even get this far or this low but this bypass just seems to keep working for me. I started my journey at high weight of 322lbs and today I weighed in at 172lbs first thing this morning 😁 Some might say I've lost more than enough but I feel I'm going well just taking each day at a time.. Still experimenting with different foods I can tolerate but taking it slowly and doing it my own way. Some days I'll still feel like a shake or two. Some days I'll be real hungry other days no hunger at all... I've been doing it my way not worrying about specific stages or phases really. So yeah 150lbs gone and I feel amazing. I feel like a new man and I'm like where did all the fat go? It feels great people calling me skinny and I weigh less than most of my mates now hahahaha I know I'll eventually need to start weights and stuff but I'm in no hurry yet. Love Mikey xo

    What age was yours?

    I did bypass at 35. I wish I did it at 25...
  14. What a ride this journey has been. I never thought I would ever get this far and definitely not this quickly. I have worked so hard though; was super strict on myself from day 1; I feel that is just my nature; it's either 110% or its nothing.. go hard or go home!!! So one morning I just decided this is the day I'm going to start my diet and change my life. I had spent the past 15+ years of my life helping everyone else in my family and ignoring my own health issues mental and physical.. I researched the surgery options and trawled this website for months whilst waiting for my surgery to happen. I found a great doctor and surgeon and he agreed with me that the roux en y bypass was definitely my best chance at success and a future. I took everyone's advice on board but ultimately I knew it would be my choice and my decision to change my life. I also gave up alcohol now nearly 4 years ago.. I started journey at the highest weight of 322LBS with multiple comorbidities and medications keeping me alive. Eventually I went into hospital on October 28th 2019 and had the bypass surgery and I knew there was no turning back; its now on me to prove to everyone including the doubters I could do it!!! Here I am 6 months and 9 days later and this morning I weighed in at 175.5LBS and I'm not sure if my body is even done yet... I've had a few stalls along the way but none longer than 1 week so I've been very lucky; I've stuck to my diet pretty religiously since day one.. I was using protein shakes pretty much for the whole first 5 months with some small things like yoghurt and tuna but the past few weeks I've been adding more carbs and experimenting with real foods and not being so strict but still keeping focused on my weight of course. For the first time in my life I feel normal and I feel happy and excited for the future and I never thought I would get this far 175.5lbs is an amazing effort which equals to 146.5lbs lost gone forever in just over 6 months!!! I hope I can show others it is possible to change your life for the better you just have to be committed, you have to be mentally prepared, you have to be doing this for yourself and nobody else!!! I hope I can be an inspiration to others!!! Love Mikey

    Weight loss slow down

Well it's a personal preference.. Some ppl are so busy they may need to substitute one meal for a shake still.. I'm nearly 5 months post surgery and still use shakes on days when I'm real busy.. my protein goal is still high.. everyone is different

    How to lose weight pre-op?

I got onto shakes early and they really helped kick start my weight loss.. in the 2 months prior to surgery I lost like 60lbs I'm now nearly 7 months since pre-op and I've lost 148lbs You need to dramatically lower your carbs and sugar and overall calories intake
  19. Proper muscle. Lean muscle weighs more than fat. So obviously to gain muscle you need to gain weight but the weight is muscle not fat
  20. Yea I understand that but I still have a little to lose before I'm ready to start weights

  24. Hey ppl thanks for your kind words.. Each shake is 150kcal 30g protein 2g carbs 1g fat At first I was drinking 3-4 a day for months. I finally got some new clothes so I'll have to get some new photos soon...
  25. I'm 4 months post op and only just getting to 1000+ cal a day.. was between 500-750 for months because you're just not that hungry or interested in food and your main goal for the first months is protein and water :)
