    I CAN'T FREAKING DECIDE!

Sure I'm a male and only 35 and 6ft0 but I started at 322 and I always had issues that I would put on weight without even trying like my metabolism was so screwed from so many years of bad choices I knew I needed something drastic to change my life so I decided on the bypass and it has been amazing.. recovery was a breeze.. I'm 8 months out and I still have restriction and I rarely have cravings.. I've been very lucky because my metabolism has changed like I don't even think about food much at all and my body now seems to not gain weight I've lost 150lbs in 8 months and I look and feel amazing.. I'm serious I hardly get cravings for bad food, I still enjoy a shake every now and then some days I don't even feel like eating.. but over Easter I had some chocolate and some fries and it didn't make any difference to my weight at all of course I felt bad well guilty but it was one day out of 8 months I decided to treat myself.. but yes it seems like I cannot gain weight now I'm 170lbs which is lower than I ever thought possible being a tall man all my life being the big guy now ppl call me skinny and tell me to stop losing weight and I tell them the bypass is amazing it has made life so much easier, sure you have to be committed to a new way of life and strict diet until maintenance.. 8 months I started my journey but 6 months ago I had the bypass and I am below my goal weight and below my surgeons GOALS... I'm not trying to force my opinion on you but I can tell you I've lost weight before but NEVER this much and this quickly and I've never got to 170 before so I believe the bypass has completely changed the way my body processes food... After 8 months of strict dieting I have had a few treats here and there but my weight still stays the same!!!! If you have any questions I'm here..

    Sips/ loop day

You may be losing weight but it seems like you haven't learnt or made any changes in your relationship with food and you're need to eat unhealthy... Health is more than just a number on a scale I believe it's what you put into your body.. I'm glad I don't have hardly any cravings and I've learnt to love my new way of life and I'm eating 90% fresh and healthy foods... Sure I'll have a treat once a week maybe but that's it.. And because of that I've lost over 150lbs in 8 months and I'm fitter and healthier than I've ever been.. and I feel good that I am able to make good choices when I go out to eat and that I'm no longer filling my face with processed junk high fat high carbs food.. so yes I love my new body but I also make sure to be as healthy as I can in my choices because my future success relies on the fact that I've completely changed who I was to who I am today and I've learnt so much more about my health and fresh healthy food that goes into my body...

    Struggling some 7mo out why?!

Cheese is no good. Bread is no good. Crackers no good. Soup if packaged could be high in sodium.. you need to make better choices..

READY TO THROW IN THE TOWEL

Look at absolutely every little thing you put in your body.... Are you getting enough protein... Are you getting enough water? How much carbs are you eating? Are you eating too little calories?
  13. To be honest not much except walking and house work.. it seems like the surgery really completely changed my metabolism it's like I can't put on weight anymore... This morning I'm 169lbs and I've pretty much stabilised around 169-171bs for a few weeks now... I've experimented with a few treats like chocolate for Easter and a few alcoholic beverages as well and I still seem to be able to maintain my weight loss...

My 6 month post RNY updates!

That's a huge accomplishment especially as women generally lose slower. I started my journey at 322. got down to 257 by surgery Oct 28 and I'm now 170lbs
  16. I'm 8 months out from pre-op - 6 months from surgery lost 152lbs was on low calories and carbs for the first 6 months like max 600cal until recently I get around 1000cal most days but still some days I'll use protein shake if I need or I'm busy. Sw 322 CW 170 Male 35yrs.
  17. Hope all is well and everyone living life in isolation. I want to say happy Easter. I'm still maintaining around 170lbs. Decided for Easter I'll take one day off and have some chocolate. I think I've earnt a little break.

  20. Hello everyone what a ride it has been. I spent a year researching bariatric surgery before choosing RNY BYPASS. my highest weight was 322lbs and I was very unhealthy and probably heading for an early grave. With a BMI of 43.7 now today after 7.5 months I've managed to hit 170LBS. that's a total loss of 152lbs in 7.5 months and I think I'm done and in maintenance mode. I've started adding more variety and carbs into my diet but still being mindful of my Weight. I'm just so grateful for the bypass it has completely and literally changed my metabolism for the better. Lately I have indulged here and there on a few squares of chocolate or a Mars Bar or even a cup of icecream without it affecting my weight at all. it's like I'm a new Man. thank you all for your ongoing support. MIKEY

What is the average weightloss at 6 months?

You will find everyone is different... But personally by 6 months I lost around 140lbs but started at 322lbs. That's roughly 22lbs a month but I've worked hard on the diet been very strict.
  23. VERY UNLUCKY. YOU'RE ONE IN A MILLION. DON'T TELL PEOPLE THE BYPASS IS BAD JUST BECAUSE YOU WERE UNLUCKY.
