Do not go near junk food at all. No excuses. Obviously you won't lose heaps if you eat unhealthy... Reflux issue you may need bypass next.. if it is so bad you can't eat.

I counted down everyday waiting I couldn't get the surgery done soon enough I only wish I had done it years earlier. It's the best choice don't stress about it.

How much weight loss is enough?
New&Improved replied to joei0005's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I always had a goal in mind for myself before surgery and the surgeon agreed I never thought I'd get to where I am today. My highest weight of 146kg (322lbs) Now I'm 75kg (166lbs) which is amazing and below any goal I had and now I've been told to stop and to figure out how to maintain. My BMI is perfect and I'm finally healthy. -
That's a very subjective question every body will have different experiences me personally I had very little urge to eat for months and my shakes kept me happy for months...

Why/how do people regain?
New&Improved replied to KellyRenae's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I completely understand and I'll be keeping an eye on my weight and I know not to get complacent and that over time I'll have to adjust my intake to see what works for me long term.. It's all trial and error and will need to figure it out as the months and years go forward -
Oh I slept for like 24hrs straight was in pain but good drugs via the IV..

Why/how do people regain?

Generally people get lazy or think that just because they lost a decent amount of weight they can start to indulge but no you cannot healthy eating and living is a life long process. Just like on 600lb life they go oh I've lost 100lbs time to pig out and I'm like no darling you've still got 300lbs to go if you start to get complacent and think I'll have one treat it can easily turn into multiple treats and you can go right Off track. You have to have very strong will power. Other reasons is living with people who continue to eat junk and keeping junk in the house is not a good idea. There are so many bad influences in the media but you can just drive past the takeaway and go to the grocery store, I'm still amazed the amount of people on my 600lb life who have never cooked a meal and eat take out everyday like how can you even afford to do that...?? I got rid of every little bit of bad food out of my house and never bought it again so it was not there and I've always been one to cook at home so I just studied healthy options plus I found a protein shake that tastes really good and I lived off shakes for months with the BYPASS I didn't even feel like eating for a long time. I've now lost 156lbs and feeling great. After I hit maintenance I admit I've had a few treats but I still keep an eye on my weight and everything. This is a life long process you cannot think oh I've lost weight now I'll start to pig out... -
I've been very lucky with bypass haven't had to adjust any of my doses of medication but I am glad to be rid of alot of meds I no longer need.

Revision - 4 Weeks In
New&Improved replied to Jessiejess1973's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
It is very important to do your research and learn about healthy food options before surgery it is bad to get surgery without preparation. I went for the bypass as my first surgery and for 8 months I lost 154lbs which is an average of 19lbs a month I was strict from day 1 but I had no craving or even desire to eat for months, I rarely get hungry and I feel amazing like a new person. -

Your goals are very possible if you believe ; after 150lbs I'm below my goals
New&Improved posted a topic in The Guys’ Room
To the men I just want you to believe in yourself again. I know what is like to live a life off obesity and always be in the friendzone. "Oh your personality is amazing" basically means you're too fat to date. Anyway after a lot of research I chose the bypass and I have blown all my goals from 322lbs to now 166lbs and maintaining 166-170lbs. Feeling amazing looking like a new man. -
