Would love some BTDT success stories. I had a successful VSG 2.5 years ago and initially lost 70lbs. Sadly with the pandemic I have regained 25-30 lbs. I am crushed. I think my pouch is still small as I cannot eat large amounts of food but I’m afraid I’m addicted to sugar. Anyone able to get back on track after weight gain. ☹️

Cross post OMG please help! I had a VSG 18 months ago and successfully lost about 80lbs. When the pandemic hit my anxiety went through the roof and I have gained back 30lbs. I still feel full after small servings but it’s SUGAR that is doing me in. Oddly I can easily eat a pint of ice cream in a sitting but cannot eat more than half a serving of “regular food”. Have I killed my sleeve? Do I need a second surgery. I’m so embarrassed to call my surgeon

So you don’t think I killed my sleeve!!! I m clearly addicted to the sugar and I totally get what you’re saying about the ice cream just disappearing in my stomach. I want to get back on track but I miss the days of low gherilin and not having any cravings. Thank you for your encouragement

Help! I had a VSG a year ago and quickly lost 70lbs. This summer I totally fell off the wagon and started eating a TON of sugar. I still can’t consume a large volume of food but for some reason I can Hoover sugar without issue. I would still like to lose another 30-40lbs and I just need help getting back on track. Anyone BTDT

Hi Everyone! This is my first post. I was doing great the first few weeks but now at week 5 I’m struggling. Premier Protein shakes were the only way I was getting enough protein and now they’re upsetting my stomach. My nutritionist is basically useless. After week two they said protein only for 4 days then veggies then advance as tolerated. I think I advanced too fast and everything feels out of whack. Can someone help me get a sense of what I should be eating at week 5? I cannot imagine how I’m going to consume 60grams of protein! I can already see muscle wasting ad I’ve only lost 25 pounds! And OMG the vitamins are making me nauseous! 😫

So I’m back after all my tales of woe today I have to bring my kids to a Halloween party. Interestingly I have ZERO interest in candy or any other treats so yay for that! I know alcohol is discouraged post op is it because people have a higher likelihood of becoming alcoholics? Would one glass of wine be disastrous? I don’t drink often but the stress of everything is making a glass of wine very appealing...

OMG the smell of protein shake makes me gag! I’m going to get back to pounding water because I am probably in the verge of being g dehydrated. Thank you!

Thank you!

I had a VSG and thank you I did just switch to Isosure isolate shake and it was much better! I am probably getting a little dehydrated so I’m going to focus on getting back to 60-80 ounces of water!

Ugh 🤦🏼♀️

Thank you! Yup my whole GI system is a mess. Don’t want to put anything into it and NOTHING is coming out of it! Fun times! And yes the vitamins are legitimately the worst part of the entire recovery!

Thank you! Super helpful!

That is super helpful! I feel like I advanced too fast. I’m going to go back and do two weeks soft solids to regroup.

Thank you so much for replying! I’m afraid I’ve developed a lactose intolerance after my surgery. I did just mix my own Isopure shake and that does seem to be better. I’m going to try a Greek yogurt for lunch and see how that feels. I guess I just need to dial everything waaaaayyy back.
