  1. Have any of you been able to drop the weight without ever needing a fill?
  2. I know that we are not supposed to eat more than 1 1/2 cups long term, but does anyone know how much our new stomachs can actually hold?

    20 lbs down!

I went to see my family doctor on Friday, and I was down 20lbs! I couldn't believe it. I don't feel super hungry, either. I still have to get a hang of the sipping part, but I'm not overeating by any means. I'm hoping to reach my mini-goal by years end!
  4. For those who had tuna during the mushy stage: did you puree your tuna? i ask because it flakes off really easy, so you can have as much or as little as you need. I have tuna at home, and this is my first day of mushies, so I wanted to see what everyone has been doing.
  5. I was just curious as to how everyone is getting their protein in every day. I'm newly banded and am hating life because I hate protein shakes!
  6. I've heard that you start to get really hungry when you're able to eat solid foods. Has anyone had this experience? I don't see why you might be hungrier.
  7. Thanks for adding me! Continued success to you!

  8. Hey girl. Thanks for adding me! Good luck with your weight loss. :)

  9. Hey girl. I see that we are very close! It's nice to find locals on the board. :)

  10. Keep in touch!

  11. I am 2 weeks post op, and am having a hard time just sipping my water! I've been so thirsty at times, that I just have been almost guzzling. I think it's because I'm not drinking enough water and causing myself to become dehydrated. Also, is anyone else having a hard time getting all of their protein in post-op? I know I'm not having nearly enough or eating nearly enough, but each day, I'm trying to do better. :seeya:

    Hey ladies

Oh heck! I guess I will have to play around with my pics at home. Thanks for letting me know.

    For recent bandsters...

I think it's normal since you probably haven't eaten very much and are recovering from surgery. I felt the same way. It takes about a week to a week and a half before you start to feel normal. Hang in there!
  14. Hello there. The first 3-4 days are rough. At least they were for me. I had my surgery last wednesday, and I'm still not at 100%. Just try to hang in there. I know what you're going through and it will get better!

    Best Desserts?

I thought the same thing, thin! I know I'm still going to enjoy a sweet treat, even if it's not in such a large portion! Thanks for sharing.
  16. I had my surgery on the 9th, and I know EXACTLY how you feel! I'm not really that hungry, and I have to force protein and water into my system. I just sip on 16 oz bottle of water for an hour, and then protien for 3. Good luck to you, honey!

    July 9th Surgery Date

Thanks for all the well-wishes everyone. I am back at home and recovering. The first 3-4 days were awful, but I'm doing better. :cursing:
  18. Hello. My surgery is scheduled for July 9th.I'm terrified because I have never had surgery, so the idea of being put under anesthesia is frightening. Did anyone else go through the same thing?:smile2:

Sorry for the late reply. My surgeon is Dr Kevin Reavis with UC Irvine Medical Cener. :cursing:
  20. Anyone cheat on their pre-op diet? Any problems with surgery because of it? I am on a 2 week diet, but I had a grilled chicken sandwhich on wheat bread when I didnt have access to my shakes! I also had a cup of coffee. I know, bad! This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do...
  21. Hi Heather. I would love for you to add me as a friend. My myspace address is www.myspace.com/misrach77

Awesome! Keep up the good work!
  23. I know that you're supposed to lose the weight fairly slowly (2-3lbs per week), but has anyone just had the weight fall off faster than usual? Were you exercising?
