    HELP.... Emotional Eating

Hi just want you to know as a mom I have been in your shoes. I will also be in your shoes again the end of the year. My daughter her first deployment stateside at 19. She turned 21 second deployment in the desert. And went back a second time 3 months later. I am already dreading her next deployment to Iraq, the first time mourned her like death. I was"nt banded at the time. And as always food was a comfort at the time eating that breif moment. So I gained weight with my emotional eating. But I have been banded since september. I am slow have lost 30lbs. But had some trouble with my incision so didnt get my first fill until December. I have lost 30 lbs this is including preop. I am trying to prepare myself for this deployment. Eating will not do my daughter any good while she is away. My husband is a great support of my weight loss. I had to pay for this my self and am doing this for my health. So with lots of prayers and support of people like you and me being here for each other we are going to make it. If you ever need to talk please do. I will keep you in my prayers and your daughter. They make us proud. My daughter took all the dance and color guard things growing up. Never dreamed she would be a soldier. proud mother of a soldier Renea:Angel_anim:

feel like a real bandster now!

I was starting to feel like you until I had my fill. Not wonderful with restriction yet but better than before. I do feel fuller longer. I am still learning. I ate a peice of pork chop yesterday not paying attention and got stuck. Even though it hurt in my chest and was painful til i got it up it made me realize yes I am a bandster now. But i have lost 23 lbs but feel like i should of lost more by now. but someone said not sure who. this is not at race or marathon. Take it slow and we will get there at the end. So I am trying to be mindful but before my fill I coudl eat anything and like you was wondering if I had wasted my money. But now I see i need to work with my band and pay attention. Slow and steady win the race, hope this helps. we will take this journey together. Renea
  7. :thumbup:I went for my first fill last friday its been a litte over week. I stay full longer but not sure what real restriction feels like. I go Dec 30 for my second fill. So I now feel like I am in the club now. Renea:wink_smile:
  8. Hi Lou Ann,

Havent heard from you wanted to see how things are with you. I havent had a fill yet. had some trouble with my incision. But have managed to keep 21lbs off without a fill. If my incision is healed i get to have a fill dec 5th. So how are things with you?

  9. :sad:Hi everyone I haven't posted in a long time. Partly because I just didnt know what to say. I am a little backwards when it comes to things. But I am am feeling blue and I could use a little encouragement. I was banded on Sept 18th and have lost 21 lbs which I am saying I have maintained.I havent had a fill yet because........ I had a little trouble with my incision opening partly aftter the steri stips were removed after surgery. I have been doing daily dressing changes and thankfully it is healing nicely and hasnt gotten infected. It was only a small opening. I also developed a seroma and was very sore for a few weeks around my incision. But one day doing my dressing when cleaning my wound the fluid aspirated on its own it was really weird. But anyway it took care of itself. So if all goes well I will get a fill Dec 5th.n I go nov 18th for one more incision check. I know 21lbs is alot and am proud of that and to have kept it off when it is easy to eat with nothing to keep from eating but willpower. But for some reason I feel blue, could be the economy, or the time change, or the stomach virus I had the weekend or oh yeah I tripped over a rug and my right big toe is purple and swollen. My clothes are baggy and people think I have lost a lot more weight than I have. doc says I have probally have lost inches. thanks for listening. things I wont/dont miss about being overweight

1 Worrying if I am will fit in a chair or seat. I am going to an event this weekend at a collisem and I am already afraid I won't fit. 2. Being embarrassed to undress in front of my husband. 3. The stares from people when I go out to eat. Makes me feel the fat lady dont deserve to eat. :frown: 3, Not going to amusement parks. 4. Not going to the altar at church to pray. Afraid i cant get up from my knees when I am trying to get up without causing a ruckus. 5. Everyday aches and pains, knees and feet. 6. Taking diab meds and bp pills.
  11. Hi from N.C. Hope you are completely pain free soon. I have been banded since Sept 18 and myself have tried many diets. It awesome to have supportive families. My husband and daughter are my biggest cheerleaders. Congrats on being halfway to your goal. I have quite a way to go but am up for the challenge. I will keep you in my prayers. Renea
  12. Hi just wanted to see how you are doing. I go back to work tonight at 7p. I aready have in mind what to take to work. I am on pureed foods. I am worried that I eat to much. Probally not but still worry. How are you doing with eating. I guess after almost 4 weeks of liquids it is scarey when we eat. I go back to doc oct 16 for another post op visit and he then will talk to me about a fill. Hope you are doing well.

    Renea

  13. It does get better I promise. I was banded on the 18th of this month. I remember standing against the wall in my living room saying this is what I wanted over and over trying to get the gas to move out of my left shoulder. I was thankful we were warned about the shoulder gas pain or I would have surely thought I was having a heart attack. Do the best you can with the liquids. Walk and take your pain meds. This too shall pass. Renea

    Alittle Nevous

I had my surgery on the 18th, and I was nervous and excited all rolled up in one. But the morning of surgery after they get you settled and give you the little something to make you less nervous going in to surgery. It is over before you know it. It took me about a week to feel almost like my self but I know it will be worth it. It took me a few months to get a date so it out weighed being nervous. I am pulling for you. Renea

it was a little over 2 months. Since your insurance is paying your circimstances are probally different. My insurance sucked and wouldnt pay at all for wls so I took out loan to pay for mine. But at the seminar you will be given a packet unless you already have it. They do expect you to pay a $200 fee on your appointment on prior to. All other fees and money they work out with you at your appointment. Renea
