You may want to research his name or go to the Cedars website and find him there. I'm going to meet with him later this month and if you want his number I'll give it you.

Hi everyone. It it Saturday May 3rd and I just got beack from Cedars (seminar). So then... I walked in and the first person I see is Dr. K. YAY!! I need to say that there was a lot of people. I knew I was not alone at this point. Dr. K talked about the process, issues, risks and all the other good stuff. Answered a lot of questions. I had a lot of questions that I was hoping to get answers to and I did. But now I feel that I really want the gastric bypass. I'm eager to shed the weight fast. Also a lady from his office was very nice, I went up to her after the seminar and I asked her if there is any way I can move up my appt with Dr. K and she will be calling me on Monday to give me a MAY appt. YAY!!! I'm so excited!!! :thumbup: I thought I'd share my experience with you.

Okay... I hope so. Since I just made an appt. they didn't ask me who I wanted the appt with, I might get Dr. Khalili. We will see. Thanks for the info. I;m going to a conference THIS Satruday at Cedars in regards to the surgery. Are you planning to attend to any? Or have you done that already?

HI everyone! :biggrin2: I went to my primary doctor today and I told her about my acid reflex, my ankles hurting and I told her that I was looking into getting the Lap-Band done. She was pretty nice about it. WOW! She was supportive. She told me to find a doctor who will be covered by my insurance and then she'll follow up on anything that the Dr. may request. :tongue: I got back to waork and I called my insurance and I am VERY HAPPY about my plans to go along with this. I am 90% covered. YAY! He then gave me the hospitals that are covered by my insuarnce and her gave me a Doctor's name that he is pretty familiar with??? Hmmmm? He gave me the name of DR. PHILLIPE J. QUILICI. He is an attending Physician at Cedars-Sinai. My insurance guy even gave me his number.... So.... I called and made an appt. to his office and its not until JUNE 10th. WOW!!! Plus the lady told me that it was a 2 to 3 hour appt. and to plan on being here for a while. ** So I wonder if Dr. Quilici AND Dr. Khalili are in the same office? Does anyone know??? Has anyone heard anything about DR. QUILICI??? Any info will be helpful??? :cool2:

Hi mpope! I'm in the same boat. I'm in looking into doctors and hospitals, but I would like to know how much out-of-pocket will it be?

Gwen and everyone on this. I've been reading all of what you guys are going through and I realized that I'm not alone. I'm just getting started with the journey that I know it will help me. I'm in the LAX area and I'm looking for a good doctor. I have Blue Cross PPO. I don't know how insurance will go. I hope it'll be okay. I have a doctor's appt. with my primary doctor and I hope she helps me out. But I don't really know if I have to go through her to go to Dr. K. * Should I call and make an appt. with Dr. K first? Susan, thanks for your reply and info. I need to lose 100 pounds. I'm at 227.4 at this moment. I'm also in Weight Watchers. Trying to get this weight off, but I have not been that successful. This weekend my husband and my 3 daughters were at a pool party and I really felt VERY UPSET at myself after listening to my best friends talking about their swimsuits. It's mu fault that I got so big. There is nobody to blame but myself. I have tried lots of other ways to lose the fat but I have not been happy. Atkins, South Beach and cutting all my carbs... :glare:Its just bad. I have been thinking about this for some time now, BUT now is the time. I really started yesterday looking into options that may be available to me. My questions are... * Do I go to my primary doctor first? or Do I go to see a Lap Band doctor first? * Should I go to a seminar first or do I wait? * Any info will be helpful to me as I'm starting my search. * What doctors are the best in my area? Hi Susan! I'm curious to ask... How long was your timeline?When did you start considering lap band? Today.. I began really looking into the lao band surgery. I'm am from Southern California (by LAX) and I hope my ins. covers it. I have an appt. for my primary doctor for Thursday and I don't really know where to go after that. Help.
