    Fluids after surgery

I’m a little over 4 weeks out now and I don’t have any problems with fluids. The first 2-3 weeks were difficult but it does get better!
  2. That concoction sounds delicious!!
  3. Thank you, I’m excited! Yes of course they gave me a plan I was just curious what other people’s stages/phases timelines look like is all. My plan for week 1 is liquid/purée as I mentioned and I need 3 snacks and 3 shakes I am trying to squeeze it all in but it’s tough. Just want to make sure I get all my nutrients in ya know? How far out from surgery are you?
  4. I’m with you on this I am halfway through week 1 post op on liquids, just so thankful my doc allows SF yogurt and SF pudding for a little variety, still tough though. Can’t wait for purée lol!!
  5. Exciting! I just had my bypass on 10/24, feel like I’m learning more and more each day!

    9 months post op 7/13

    Looking good! Congratulations!!
  7. I was wondering what the stages/phases look like for different surgeons? I was not required to do a pre-op diet just clear liquids the day before. I had my bypass on Wednesday. Feeling satisfied and not hungry just my brain missing my usual snacks. I am on a liquid/puree mix this week. I can have the usuals for liquids but I can also have yogurt, FF cream soups and SF puddings. I bought isopure unflavored whey protein and add it to my decaf coffee in the morning. Then a triple 0 yogurt for snack, another decaf coffee with whey protein, 1/4 pudding with whey protein, then another shake for dinner. I’m supposed to get another snack in but by then I’m so full! I have been getting between 60-70g protein per day, is that enough? I am looking forward to more variety like scrambled eggs, chicken salad and cottage cheese but they aren’t added to my diet until after my 1st post op appt on Wednesday. Can’t wait!

How to Start Meal Prepping After Bariatric Surgery

Orchid, if you lightly spray olive oil on the inside of the container prior to putting your tomato based contents in it prevents the staining. Just found this out myself recently!
  9. Well said! I’m a nurse so helping others and sharing knowledge and experiences comes naturally for me. Thanks for the welcome! 😊

  11. Hi!! My name is Jessica. I’m new on here and have been stalking posts for a few weeks. Any question I’ve had so far I’ve been able to find an answer what an amazing help this app has been for me! I had a lap band placed in June 2009 and subsequently removed in July 2016. I just had Gastric Bypass a few days ago on October 24th. After a couple pain filled restless nights in the hospital I was discharged on Friday afternoon and I am feeling much better now. I am not in too much pain, some abdominal pain that is well controlled with meds, zero incision pain. I have pain when deep breathing though so I’ve been using the incentive spirometer like a champ! I don’t feel hungry at all. Have no difficulty getting my liquid diet items down at all thankfully. I am definitely craving some carbs though! Anyway so far so good for me, wanted to say hello and get to know you all. 🙃😉

    October bypass

I had my bypass on the 24th. We can take this journey together! The first two days while I was still in the hospital were painful and restless for me as well. Thankfully being home and getting a couple good nights of sleep have made a huge difference for me. Hoping you feel better soon. ❤️
