Starving still... regret seriously increasing
amiekinsRN replied to mousecat88's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I can relate! I had the same feeling of hunger for the first week! Staying hydrated helped a lot and it will get better. Hang in there! -
Anyone regretting this?
amiekinsRN replied to Anglkrys2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m a week out, and I’m hungry, my stomach does not feel any different, and my taste buds haven’t changed. I’m following the post op instructions and I am losing weight, so I guess there is that. I’m sure the other will get better in time. I just want some FOOD instead of just liquids. -
Apprehensive Nurse, any other healthcare folks?
amiekinsRN replied to VSGDavid's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am a nurse as well! I had my sleeve on 10/30 and was terrified. I think the biggest thing that scared me was being intubated. Everything went well, and aside from a bout of intractable vomiting from the anesthesia I have done pretty good. I have had minimal pain and haven’t needed pain meds. No more nausea and vomiting since I got home. My biggest challenge is to get fluids and protein in. And I’m sooooo tired still. Best of luck on your surgery and keep us posted! -
2nd day post op. Pain is manageable. I haven’t had to use my lortab yet. Nausea and vomiting was my worst problem after surgery and first day post op. That seems to be gone now. I’m trying to get my fluids in. Went for a short walk earlier.

I am 51 and about to have surgery on 10/30. I’m terrified. -
Hello! I’m new to this site. My surgery date is 10/30. I’m terrified. Both of the surgery and recovery. Any recovery experiences y’all want to share would be most appreciated!
