  3. I had my band for two years, I lost weight after my band slipped because I threw up all the time. When I first got my band I was hungry all the time. Once I heal from having band removed I plan on having sleeve. That's just me.

If you have to have any surgery it is bad, the more you move the band around the more scar tissure you will likely have. So it's just my belief now (after my bad experience) that removing band is the best thing to do. I am so releaved to have that foreign object out of my body. Everyone will not have problems that I have had. But I wouldn't recommend the band to anyone after what I went through.

I would start checking on having band removed and sleeve done before it gets so bad you can't have it done in one surgery like me. I now have to heal for 3 - 4 months before I can have sleeve. My friend had revision from band to sleeve in one surgery and is doing great. She can't believe how much better it it to have the sleeve. I also gained 10 pounds while unfilled, most everyone gains weight back when they have band removed. If you start throwing up you slip will get worse.

    Slippage

I have been suffing and doing my homework for months trying to decide what I needed to do. Decided to remove band and have sleeve. :ohmy:Two weeks before surgery date I had another slip. This one was bad. I couldn't keep anything down, not even Water. I got very dehydrated and there wasn't a local doctor that would remove my band. ER dr said I needed to get on a plane to Mexico. By the time I was hydrated and checked myself out of local hospital it was the 4th. Worked all weekend getting a flight and make arrangements to get to Mexico. I was extremely dehydrated again by the time I arrive. But finally band has been removed by:thumbup: Dr. Aceves. (He did not place my band) many many regrets:sad: I didn't go to him first. My band was never done correctly. I had trouble the entire 2 years I had it. If you have a slip, you should have something done because it can get worse. Be sure your fill doctor stays on top of situation. Also so know as much as possible about the doctor you use to place band.

I am looking into having band removed and having gastric sleeve surgery, other wise I know all the weight I've lost will come back. Can already tell a difference since having all fill removed.

Went back for barium x-ray today ( 5-5-08). Band did not correct itself. Don't know what to do now since surgery was done in Mexico no dr. in states will touch it. Do no want to go back to Dr. Rojas because of all the problems other people have had.

Had my lap band surgery in July 2006 in Mexico. Recently discovered that band had slip down, pouch is to large. Had all fill removed. Has anyone with this problem ever had it correct itself or will band have to be removed?

Have had band since 7/06. In the past year didn't think a fill was needed, thought there was still some restriction because of constant vomiting. Finally went for fill and band has slipped down, pouch is larger than it should be. Had fill any way, haven't felt the need to throw up but, dr thinks if fill is removed maybe it will repair itself. Does anyone know what the chance is that stomach will slide back through the band?
