    Any 50yo or older?

I'm 61 going on 62 soon. I don't have a lot of sagging. I think it's because I'm loosing very slowly, I go to the gym and do weights for an hour 2-3 times a week and ride my bike. Maybe that has helped me. I'm sure it will come eventually. 😉

    GERD

I have never "dumped". Google says: Dumping Syndrome Is Still Possible After Gastric Sleeve But Rarer. It should be noted that dumping syndrome can still happen in gastric sleeve patients, but it is much rarer. The condition tends to be triggered when gastric sleeve patients have foods that are fatty, sugary, or generally rich.

    GERD

I do get GERD but only when I eat spicy foods. I take Nexium when needed or anti acids. I feel my GERD has improved. I think everyone is different.

    Any 50yo or older?

Hello, I'm 61 and had my sleeve surgery a little over a year ago. Everything went really well. I went home the next day. I was never in pain. I'm so happy I had the surgery. I've only lost 45 lbs., I'm not losing as fast as I want but I feel so much better and I'm happier. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

    1 Year PostOp

You should be proud. I don't understand why you feel like you're a failure. My sleeve was almost a year ago and I've only lost 45 lbs. I'm loosing very slowly but I feel good and healthier.

    Regretting the surgery

Everyone feels like this right after surgery. You won't regret it. Hang in there.

    How much can you eat?

10 months post op. I eat anything I want at very small amounts. I didn't eat a huge amount before. After 6 weeks I wasn't on any restrictions. I don't eat junk food or processed foods very much never did. Good luck to you.
  9. I was sleeved 12/22/2021. Since starting weight I've only lost 45 lbs. I haven't lost weight in 3 months. I get about 800-1000 calories per day, go to the gym and walk every day. I will say even though I haven't lost weight in 3 months, I feel my clothes are fitting better and I'm buying smaller sizes. I'm a little frustrated as well. I really don't know what the answer is. I just keep doing what I'm supposed to do and hope evidentially I will start loosing again. Good luck to you.

    How fast?

I was sleeved 12/22/2021. I haven't lost in 3 months. I take in about 800-1000 per day and go to the gym. I think it happens to everyone. I need to lose at least 50 more lbs. I think a lot of it is my age as I'm older than most on here. And yes, every one is different. You've done great! 85 lbs. is a lot of weight to lose. Good luck and keep hanging in there.
  11. I had the sleeve done 12/22/2021. I've only lost 42 lbs. However, I'm 61 and I think my age has a lot to do with it. I haven't lost anything for about 2 months. Yes very frustrating. My blood pressure is down and I feel really good. One weird thing is that even though I haven't lost weight in 2 months, my clothes are getting bigger and I've gone down a size. I did start back to my gym, I agree, I think you need to see a dietician. Good luck to you.
  12. Congratulations! I'm 8 months out and have only lost 41 lbs. I'm 61. You are doing great! My doctor cleared me on eating everything at 6 weeks out. It's so weird that so many doctor's have such different aftercare directions. I continue to try and eat about 800-1000 calories a day. I have never "dumped" even after eating sweets. I was losing about 5 lbs per month but I've been on a stall for 2 months now. A little frustrating.

    Sleeve Post-Op Calorie Intake

Every doctor is different. I started soft foods at week 4. At week 6 I was told I could eat anything except fresh carrots and crunchy veggies. I try and stay at around 800-1000 calories a day. I have a slow metabolism and I'm older so I lose slower than some people. Also make sure you get your protein in. Good luck to you.

  15. Hey there!! I was also sleeved December 22, 2021. I’ve been loosing very slowly but that’s ok. I’ve lost 41 lbs. about 50 more to go. My blood pressure is a lot lower which makes me happy. My taste buds have changed a little. I didn’t eat much fast food but when I do now I am disappointed in the taste. Don’t care for potato chips anymore or French fries, I know, weird. I’m still trying to adjust my food intake and getting enough water. I drink a lot of those hydration packets. I feel so much better and the surgery was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I wished I would have done it years ago. It was nice hearing from you.
