    Struggling this week...

I understand your pain as my weight has not come off as fast as I had hoped...I don't exercise as much as you though and I know that would help me. My surgery was over 11 months ago and I've lost 62 lbs...I had hoped to be down 100 pounds by now but every body is different. The only big problem I'm having now is the latest restriction is causing food to get stuck everytime...I vomitted twice in the past week but I don't want to get any fluid out yet because I have started losing weight again. That is an awful feeling though, especially if you are eating in public.

    hello from Nebraska

A wise choice to go to the seminar. I was so scared and nervous before I had the lap band on May 9th. I've lost 37 lbs and feel so much better. I still need to lose about 65 lbs but I've made a good start. It can be long and frustrating but it is worth it all. Good luck@

    Can't stop eating!

I am not having problems either with food or things getting stuck, just the port is still healing and I'm 4 weeks out tomorrow. I'm trying not to give in to the head hunger but it is hard!

    Can't stop eating!

I'm four weeks out tomorrow and I've been eating more than I should. Haven't gained any back the last few days but haven't lost more either. I've lost 20 lbs. Is that about average. I ate some bread today at lunch and I really have a tummy ache tonight. I'm like the rest of you, anxious for the fill and very afraid it will get out of control.
  6. I was banded on May 9th too! I am easing back to work. Mainly because I'm really tired and having the feeling of having something "stuck" in my throat. Just developed that in the past two days. So I'm not even that excited about soft foods. Have eaten a few already, baked fish and refried beans, hoping to get protein back to give me more energy. On your co-workers, that is too bad! Yeah, I sometimes wish I hadn't shared what I've done until later but I'm in charge of a small office and my assistant's husband is the one that referred me after he had lap band. They are great but I feel like I"m under a microscope. I'm down 15 lbs from surgery date so that is helping but I am on a wild emotional rollercoaster. And impatient to have some energy and not have this "stuck" feeling.

So emotional and can't stop crying...

You do have people that care because those of us on this forum care! And you are in for an emotional rollercoaster. I've been banded for two weeks and it has been very much a rollercoaster. I'm down 16 lbs in two weeks and that is keeping me happier. But it is hard. It is like giving up a huge part of yourself. I started on soft foods today but it is still hard to eat for various reasons. I'm so glad I went through with it and you will be happy to get it past you as well. Just hang in there. You are normal to feel so many emotions! You are in my thoughts and prayers.

feeling ill 2 days post op

Yeah, they do make it sound like everyone will be up and at'em quickly. I have had a low grade fever which makes me feel bad. I get my walking in and my liquid but don't think I'm getting enough protein to have energy. The only protein drink I like is Instant Breakfast. The others make me want to throw up. Hang in there and listen to your body.

    gas or hunger pains

I was banded May 9th and I had those gas pains but not so much now. Just battling being hungry. I've found it is best to read and not watch too much tv.. Food, food, food! Food and sex...two things you can't have a lot of right now!

    Working after Surgery...

I was banded on May 9th and I've been really tired. I worked this past Thursday but not all day and don't plan to do full days for another week. I work in an office but the food restrictions leave me weak. But I lost 11 lbs first week. Is that on the good side? Anyway, just listen to your body and remember that rest is essential to healing too.
  11. I was banded yesterday morning in B'ham, AL with Dr. Miles and spent the night at the hospital, came home today and I'm feeling better than I thought I would. Not having a problem keeping down liquids. Very sore in the stomach as is to be expected. The ride home was painful (over 2 hours) but overall I'm great. I was very freaked out about being put to sleep, though I had surgery before so I was so happy about just waking up that I think my attitude is very good and that I can handle this! To all of you pre-banders, go in with with a very positive attitude and lots of prayers!

    Any May Bandsters?

At what point do you have to go on a liquid diet before surgery? Mine is just the day before.

    Anyone being banded April 28?

My doctor doesn't have me going on liquids only until two days before surgery. My surgery is May 9th. Is that typical? I am very excited and very scared at the same time.
