Total Stall at 2 months post op
Wickedwinner replied to D'Angouleme's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You can still lose weight without exercising. You’re just in a stall. There are lots of threads on here about breaking stalls. Stay the course, maybe talk to your NUT. You may be getting too few calories, or not drinking enough water. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Zofran is great because it doesn’t make you drowsy like the others. Also breathe through your mouth until the nausea passes. Slow breathes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My husband was similar until he went to the seminar and learned more about it. He was totally on board after that and has a little “bromance” going with my surgeon. They are Facebook friends and “chat” all the time. It’s slightly annoying to me[emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was told at my one month appointment that I could eat them. I eat them regularly but only a few at a time or a tummy ache. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Smooth Sailing for Anyone?
Wickedwinner replied to Everything's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Had mine 12/14. I’ve had 3 laparoscopic surgeries now and this one was the easiest! Be sure to start walking AS SOON AS YOU CAN after surgery. Like within an hour or two. It will help you start healing and lessen complications. I’ve had no vomiting or issues with eating and drinking. I feel the same, I just eat a lot less. I’ve lost 38 lbs so far and feel great. No regrets whatsoever. I haven’t lost my hair yet so I may feel differently if that happens[emoji23]. Just be sure to go a reputable hospital with a surgeon with a good rating. Good luck- wish you the best! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
John Oldham - Baptist Bariatric - Louisville
Wickedwinner replied to abern's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Are there any support groups there? I had mine at Baptist Lexington and even though I’ve been really pleased, there are little to no support groups available. I’m closer to Lex but would consider driving to Louisville for one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Bowel Obstructions and Chronic Constipation
Wickedwinner replied to Jerrilyn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just started taking Calm, a magnesium product. It was recommended by a nutritionist and is supposed to help regulate bowels. It hasn’t really worked yet but I’m only on day 3 so I’m going to give it a week or two. I sometimes take Miralax and/or Smooth Move Tea but they can give me the opposite problem which is not ideal on work days[emoji15]. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Minimal weight loss in the first 6 weeks
Wickedwinner replied to Jaxie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’ve upped my calories to 1000 for about a week now and I’ve lost 9 pounds. That’s the most I’ve lost in a week since 1st week post op. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I went to my one month check up last week. They told me to increase my calories by at least 200. I did and have lost 5 pounds in 4 days. I was eating under 800, now I try to get in right under 1000. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Had mine on 12/14. I’ve lost 18. Dr just told me to up my calories to 1000. I was keeping it right about 800. I walk 2 miles daily. I’ve got to add in some weight training. It is frustrating but at least I’m not starving all the time! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Have you switched or made any changes to your vitamins or medications? Be sure it is not blood. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I just had my one month checkup. I’ve lost 28 pounds but about 10 was pre-surgery. I was consuming no more than 800 calories a day, with 90-100 grams of protein a day. I drink plenty of water. Dr told me to up my calories to 1000-1200. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mine was over the Xmas holiday so I was off a few weeks. I could’ve easily gone back after a week. My only problem would’ve been with clothes not being comfortable. I still had swelling in stomach area so I wore pajama bottoms or loose clothing for 2 weeks. Also I have a commute so I would’ve had to make stops to walk and stretch. Curious, how much is the sleeve stretched? What test did you have to determine this? I feel like I don’t have much restriction to begin with so I’m terrified of this happening. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Do NOT take Benedryl - it raises BP significantly. There are medicines specifically for people with high BP. I take Coricidin (I think that’s how it’s spelled). It works better than anything g I took before high BP. I’ve been really pleased with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m three weeks out and I can eat any kind of egg, scrambled, omelet, hard boiled. Love them all! Hard boiled I stick to 1, but any other way I can eat 2. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Things To Do During Recovery Period
Wickedwinner replied to CeeCee2018's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had mine a week or so before Christmas and felt way better than anticipated. I shopped, wrapped presents, cooked etc in prep for that. I did watch a few cooking shows and The Marvelous Ms Maisel on Netflix. The week after Christmas I cleaned out all my closets and reorganized drawers (husband did the heavy lifting). I got so much accomplished- couldn’t believe it! Good luck- hope you feel as good as I did! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Does the hunger ever go away?
Wickedwinner replied to veroa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good news! Tonight, for the first time I had grilled salmon. It was the first thing of real substance that isn’t too soft. I ate about 5oz and I was full! Like really full! I could’ve stopped at 4oz and been full. I tolerated it fine but really felt in my esophagus, which hasn’t happened before. It gives me hope that my sleeve will work as intended. Now to get out of the stall... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
My team stresses absolutely no smoke for at least 6 weeks after surgery, even second hand. And the two weeks prior. I’m surprised you could smoke that close to your surgery date. They believe smoke leads to leaks. I quit years ago but I freak out if anyone is smoking in my vicinity. [emoji23]. Hope you have great success. Congrats on seeking help. Same for me. Sleeved on 12/14. Have only lost about 12 pounds. Maybe 14. I do feel like I’m losing inches though. My clothes are looser, etc. This week I’m not going to eat any cheese and try to up my water intake. Hoping that gets things moving again! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I’m basically the same. Yesterday was my 3 week mark. I can tolerate everything and I never feel full. Getting very frustrated. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
I don’t feel much different!
Wickedwinner replied to KatiT47's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That’s helpful. I have been eating a lot of cheese. But my program calls for healthy fats and protein. I will cut it out a week and see if it helps. I haven’t really been tracking calories too much because my dr told me as long as I was getting 100 grams of protein and 64 oz of liquid I’d lose the weight. Said I wouldn’t be able to eat much else. I’ve stuck to the diet but I just don’t feel the restriction like I thought. I’m walking a couple of miles a day. Just got cleared to start more exercise. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

Same for me. Was sleeved 12/14 and I don’t feel much difference. I can drink no problem, and I mean big gulps! I’m hungry all the time. Not the old hungry, but a not real satisfied hungry. I eat something every two hours. About 1/2 cup to a cup. I’m never overly full. It’s hard to explain. I tolerate everything I’ve tried so far. Haven’t lost that much either. I had lost 10 pounds at my one week appt but have only lost 2-4 since then. I try not to weigh often as to not get discouraged. Waiting for this restriction to kick into high gear! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
I know every program is different but my dr warned me NOT to use GENEPRO, as he believed it doesn’t contain the protein it says and can lead to serious problems. Just an FYI. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
