July 2019 Surgery Siblings Post-Op
ARMoma45 replied to Mom_of_Chaos's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I may not have staggering weight loss numbers yet but i'm extremely pleased at the changes in my body. I never took before measurements but I can tell daily that my shape is changing and my clothes are literally falling off of me...and i'm now off my meds for cholesterol, blood pressure and arthritis...so i'm extremely happy -

OMG, he's hilarious -
No worries, it gets better.

Be glad that you don't have 2 weeks of it like most of us did. I had all those symptoms as well. It's a terrible period but just something we have to do. For me the brain fog was the worst.

I had been eating the Oikos triple zero but at some point the consistency began to bother me. It sat really heavy on my stomach.

LATEST BLOOD LEVELS GOOD OR BAD
ARMoma45 replied to New&Improved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some of your numbers don't look right...for instance the Creatinine is usually with a decibel (ex. 1.9) and Trigs and HDL are usually whole numbers(ex. 35). Look at the area on your report that lists the normal ranges for each test. That will tell you if they are high or low. Every lab has a slightly different set of ranges and it's possible that the lab that ran your tests may use a different format which would explain why the numbers look odd to me. I'm a lab tech. -
Was told not to lose weight or surgery would get denied.
ARMoma45 replied to Soon2bSleeved12/2019's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They're going to look at your entire progress. I got denied the first time because I lost too much weight...and my bmi was 60. My insurance wanted to see me fail to lose and maintain 10% of my excess weight. It seems backwards but I wouldn't do anything that would cause you to lose. I'd also drink a ton of water right before you weigh in lol. -

I wish I could say it gets better, but I haven't reached that point yet. -
My Dr sent me home with muscle relaxers and they have been a life saver for sure.

July 2019 Surgery Siblings Post-Op
ARMoma45 replied to Mom_of_Chaos's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just over 4 weeks out now and am still having a lot of trouble getting food down. Almost everything seems like it hurts. I haven't hit fluid or protein goals once. I can't even tolerate the protein shakes anymore. I just keep praying that it'll get better. I'm down about 20 lbs since surgery and I lost 24 lbs on the pre-surgery liquid diet so that's a plus. Some days i'm only getting in 100-200 calories so i'm still pretty weak but I am back at work and that's getting better each day. Overall i'm doing ok. -
I'm only a month post op and i've felt the exact same way. I am thankful that i've been able to stop almost all of my meds and I have lost a good deal of weight...but the head hunger is a monster.

The wonderful compression stockings
ARMoma45 replied to PEGGO's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They weren't really uncomfortable but was a pain to put back on after walking so they said I could leave them off. I generally took a stroll down the hall every time I got up to tinkle. Glad I could help brighten your day -
That's awesome... huge congrats!!!

The wonderful compression stockings
ARMoma45 replied to PEGGO's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the leg thingies in the hospital but took them off when I started walking. I also got heparin shots in the hospital but when I came home I didn't have shots or socks. -
I'm not in Texas but I had to pay the dr. And hospital up front... my 20% that insurance won't pay. Since I hadn't met my deductible my Dr got a chuck.

I get sleeved tomorrow 😳..All I can think about is possibly Remission
ARMoma45 replied to Yentelema's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm one month post OP from rny and haven't had any blood pressure or cholesterol meds since surgery. My numbers are great. -
Try stopping before you actually feel full. If I go until I feel full, i'll have to vomit. But yes, i've had stomach pains pretty much constantly since surgery 4 weeks ago.

Anyone have CT Scans few weeks after surgery to pinpoint issues?
ARMoma45 replied to KarenLR75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Was it a regular Dr that admitted you or your bariatric Dr? My surgeon told me next time to call them and come to their hospital to be evaluated...our local ER had no idea what to do with me. -
Stomach Cramps when eating
ARMoma45 replied to tarab_14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4 weeks post op and i've had this problem consistently. But they are thinking mine is because of my gallbladder(mine acts up even if I haven't eaten). For you, maybe you need more time on your liquid phase before bringing in foods. -

ARMoma45 replied to KarenLR75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a ct but was unable to drink the contrast so they did it iv. Unfortunately all it could do was rule out any immediate problems. It can't see a leak. -
Freakish Restriction???
ARMoma45 replied to KarenLR75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did end up going to the er when the feeling just wouldn't go away and my surgeon thinks it may be my gallbladder.
