Iโ€™m 15 days post-op and had an emergency that has lead us to leave the country we were living in (Peru). I had to change my diet to more of a typical US post-op diet and I am tolerating things really well. Iโ€™m getting my protein but struggling with my water. I got my first post-op period yesterday and itโ€™s causing me pain that is close to landing me in the ER.

I think I turned a corner, feeling really good so far today at 3 days post-op. Swelling is going down a bit and pain is also significantly less. Feeling positive.

Hi All! Had my surgery on Tuesday, home alone today. Felt really dizzy, doc told me to have some chamomile tea with a tsp of sugar. Almost instantly am feeling better. A little sore but doing well. Chicken broth has been the highlight of my post surgery life so far! ;)
  5. Hi! Just wondering if there was a follow up to this? Did you have your surgery? Did you decide to wait? My stats and story are similar to yours and I just feel I'm drowning every day that I am not proactive in making this decision.
  6. Is this all inclusive or are there other hidden costs?
  7. Has anyone here traveled to Tijuana from outside of North America? I am and American currently living in Lima, Peru and am considering self-pay gastric sleeve in Mexico. Aside from the cost (MUCH cheaper to fly in to Tijuana than San Diego), the flight durations / layovers seem like a nightmare. It's about 6.5 hours to Mexico City then 3 or so more to Tijuana which isn't so bad by itself but the layovers are crazy - up to 24hrs+. I am also concerned about aftercare here in a developing country in the case of an emergency. If anyone has any advice or words of wisdom I'd love to hear them! Thanks!
