I am dyinggg for a salad but last time(a couple weeks ago) I tried to put just a little bit of lettuce on my turkey wrap I got so nauseous and felt gross. That’s the only thing so far(crossing my fingers) that my new little stomach has really disagreed with. I’m nervous to try again. I’m just over 2 months post op.

@AZhiker wow! That puts things into perspective! Thank you

How long after surgery did everyone wait to have a glass of wine? I’ve heard many different things- but I want to hear what people actually did as opposed to what they were instructed to do

Hello! Does anyone take any super greens? I’ve had them before but I’m thinking it would be very helpful for me right now. I’m still not eating much, and focusing on protein intake most of all. So I know I’m not getting all the veggies I should be. Just curious about your experience or any recommendations on any!

How long after surgery did you add these to your diet? I’ve been dying to have a salad or fresh fruit. My paperwork from my surgeons office says I can add them starting next week, a little over a month post op. So I was so excited to go grocery shopping! But I was just looking for some information online and I read somewhere not to eat ANY raw fruits or veggies until 3 months out! Please tell me your experience with this! How soon did you have them? Did you have any trouble? Do you still have any trouble with some?

“Stage 4” AKA long term lifestyle
shellyk018 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I start my stage 4 tomorrow.. as I understand this is not really a stage anymore and this is just going to be my lifestyle from now on. During every stage previous I had lists of things I could and could not have in that stage. On stage 4 I have a list of things I shouldn’t eat or drink.. soda, candy, fried food.. the obvious. My paperwork tells me to gradually start introducing new foods as tolerated and if I don’t tolerate something to try it again in a couple weeks. I’m so nervous to just start adding new things and scared of adding new foods! And it’s so intense going from very restricted stages with a set list of what I can and can’t have and now it’s like I’m on my own. Which I know, is the whole purpose here. But I’m getting a little nervous! -
I’ve been cleared to have coffee (yay!) but my problem is, I only like my coffee with either the flavored creamers that are bad for you or with lots of sugar- both a no go from my nutritionist. I’m not a huge fan of Splenda or the sugar free syrups either. I’ve been debating on even starting to drink coffee again if I’m not going to be able to have it the way I enjoy it. So my question for you guys is- how do you have your coffee post op and still enjoy it?

How long did everyone wait until you started drinking coffee after surgery? I’ve seen many different things, and I know that not everyone follows the rules so I want to know did it have any ill effects? I’m nervous and hesitant to start back even when I’m cleared because they always warn that it irritates stomachs and stuff.. but I used to drink A LOT of coffee. Now that I’ve weaned myself off I’m not sure what it will be like. Coffee fiends! Let’s hear your experience!

How long until you could sleep on your stomach?
shellyk018 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m a belly sleeper and although I’ve been fine sleeping on my back I’m definitely not as comfortable and I can NOT wait to sleep normally. How long until you were comfortable sleeping on your tummy? -
Dry Mouth at Night
shellyk018 replied to Prestonandme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh my gosh! I’m a week and a half post op and I have the same thing! It’s only when I wake up. I pretty much always get in all my water but still have it when I wake up. And it takes more than a few sips to get under control. I love this website haha I love knowing I’m not the only one! -

Drinking before and after eating
shellyk018 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’ve read all kinds of different things regarding how long to wait to drink water before and after eating.. I have been doing half an hour but today I saw something that said one hour. It’s so rough! What does everyone here do? -
How much calcium citrate does everyone take?
shellyk018 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I swear my nutritionist told me one, twice a day. But now that I’m actually supposed to start my regimen after surgery, the paper she wrote me says 2 twice a day. Seems like a lot. Or maybe I’m just bitter cause it’s going to take a lot to get me through a month 😂 I’ll do whatever I have to, just wondering! -
Personal question.. laxative or dumping syndrome?
shellyk018 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ahh.. such a fun topic to talk about publicly. So a few days ago I took Miralax and then the following day I took some laxative tablets(both approved by dr) and it wasn’t until yesterday that.. well, they worked. I don’t know if they have a lingering effect? Because just now as I was sipping my protein shake I started to feel a little nauseous.. I got up to walk around and thought maybe I just needed to burp.. but then I had to run to the bathroom and well.. you can use your imagination. Now I’ve read all about dumping syndrome but I’m just not quite sure if that’s what happened or it was just still the laxatives working through me. I’ve read it takes about 30 minutes for dumping to happen and I was only halfway through my protein, I don’t think it was that long. I’m just concerned if it was the shake I was drinking either the protein or the fact that I used milk. Any advice would be wonderful! Thank you everyone, always so helpful! -

Is egg drop soup appropriate for the full liquids phase? If I just eat the broth and none of the chunks?
