Hi Freiabr. Glad you’re home! I had my surgery on 10/16. I had a drain they took out before I was discharged. I didn’t put any ointment on the incision. I did take the bandage off before I showered and then put a clean one on. My doctor said he didn’t want a wet bandage on the incision. Had the staples taken out a week later and you can barely tell there’s a scar there! Best of luck to you!

I had a rough time with nausea after the surgery. Mine was from the anesthesia and lasted until the next morning. Then I was ok. Good luck!

Hi cateckert. It definitely gets easier. Just try to drink what you can. Sugar free Popsicles helped me a lot at first! I’m almost three weeks out and I can comfortably drink. Good luck and don’t stress to much! As long as you’re peeing that’s a good sign!

I’m pleased with the weight loss. I’m happy to see the scale going down instead of up. Don’t forget that you’re losing inches too! I’m trying not to weigh myself to much. I also tried a bite of a meatball last night and didn’t feel good! I had to lay down till I felt better! I had a scrambled egg this morning and it was so good! Keep up the good work don’t rely to much on the scale!

Check with your doctor. I was allowed to as long as it was watered down with milk.

Good luck!

I’ve tried the Unjury chicken soup. It’s ok. Not the best I’ve ever had. I just ordered the cream of broccoli from BP.
-
Good luck! You’ve got this!

The pain could also be from the swelling. I had a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time and my dr said, the pain I was feeling was from the swelling.

Hope it helps!

Hi danieocean! I had surgery on the 16th too! Just starting to eat soft food. I’ve never been so happy to chew! Lol Last night I made the ricotta bake. It was delicious! I think I didn’t eat slow enough and it was quite uncomfortable though. I also tried tuna fish and that went down ok. I’m down 14 pounds since surgery and almost 30 since I started the post op diet on October 2. I love the results so far! Best of luck to you!

Hi Yessican! Any kind of surgery is scary for sure! For me, the benefits of having the surgery far outweighed the “possible” complications. Best of luck to you!

I got the unflavored protein powder that Genpro makes. It’s 30g of protein. I blended it with the can of soup, then heated it.

Hi byefat! I was able to have blended soups with my protein shakes. I made black bean soup with bone broth. I also got a delicious lentil soup at Trader Joe’s and blended it up. It was very satisfying. Also, I took a can of progress low fat chicken noodle and blended that with some unflavored protein powder. It was so tasty! I found I wanted salty way more than sweet stuff! Good luck!

I’m so glad you’re doing well! I’m just starting to eat soft foods. I noticed I never felt full with the shakes. I felt satisfied which is a feeling I wasn’t used to. I was used to feeling stuffed! One day at a time. It’ll get easier.
