How do you know if you are suffering from erosion? I have a sore throat and cant get in to see my doctor early enough.
-
frypan, the whole process is a breeze....It takes some getting use to and so far I have no regrets. I was banded by DR Yau May 1 08 and have lost 21lbs. Getting started and going through the "healing" stage takes time but after that the lbs start to come off. A side from the occasional PBing I can't complain. Feel free to ask any questions.

This thread goes hand in hand with keeping the band a secret. How do you guys manage yourselves at social functions where people notice you're not your usual self with all the drinking and eating they were use to you doing? :confused2:

My wife is the only person who knows. I think once I start losing weight to the point where people start to notice I MAY say something. All my life I've seen people take shots at me and others because of my/our weight issues. Part of me went through with the band procedure to take back control of my life, the other part.......well...the other part is for selfish reasons at this point. I've dieted all my life and it worked short term. It really ticks me off when people you don't even associate with feel the need to question you about your weight and feel the need to lecture you on the risks of being over-weight. As if I don't know I have a problem. Lately I've had little tolerance for these types of people and have taken them to task. I've found that they change their tune rather quickly when a 333lbs 6'2" monster is ready to......well you get the picture. I'm just tired of it. I don't mean to sound like a mean S.O.B....I get my first fill this week, I just hope this works for me. Thanks for letting me vent. BD.

Post op muscle spasms
Benellid replied to chefsteph's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm one month post-op..I to have a hard lump next to my belly button but I'm sure it's my port. If you think there is something wrong call your doctor. Better safe than sorry... -
OK, so I'm one month post-op, I think I have been doing good. Haven't had any real issues. During the solid stage I got stuck a couple of times and experienced my first PB and Sliming; once to the point where I threw up. Nothing violent, it just came up. I don't think I have any restriction yet but I definitely know there is something there sometimes. I've lost 14lbs this month due to the post-op diet. My first fill is June 4th and I don't know what to expect. Right now I can eat no problem. I'd like to hear from anyone else who is one month post-op or anyone really that can tell me if what I've been going through is what you've gone through. Good Luck To All, BD

I found I went on my own like normal, only the urine was very dark and thick. It was like that for about 5 days. I was told it's due to lack of fluids. I wasn't drinking enough water. I'm fine now.

How many calories and fat should a banded individual take in each day?

Are you very active?

I am four days post-op and find that my urine is a very deep yellow. I've been on liquids only. why is this?

I was banded May 1. I have a nasty bruise at the port area about the size of a tennis ball. Has anyone else had this?

I'm three days post op, when can I have coffee? -
CP. I'm 3 days post-op. I too have been urinating less due to my current intake of fluids. But i have noticed that the color of my urine is a dark cloudy yellow. Anyone else have this issue?

Hello all, I've just been banded and so far seem to be OK. My calves hurt and taking deep breaths hurt. Is this normal? How long will it last?

This is my first time posting here. I've been read all your comments and find this site very helpful. It's currently 6 a.m. and surgery is scheduled for 11 a.m. I keep on telling myself that this is the right thing to do and that everything is going to be OK. I'm a bunch of nerves and scared to death.
