I had LB surgery in 2006 I too have had GERDS for a long time. I recently developed full blown intolerance for lactose. Since eliminating cows milk from my diet I suffer no GERDS at all anymore. If all normal complications and concerns have been looked into try eliminating milk and see if it helps. Within a week I noticed it was gone. I choose not to use Nexium or Prilosec due to them causing me to lose hair.

Albuterol/Asthma/Allergies and Surgery
Brian K. replied to Poodles's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm no doctor, but have lived my whole life with severe allergies and asthma. I had many serious close calls with asthma. I can say with certainty that Advair 500, Singular and Rhinocort have changed my life. Everybody is different, but I don't get the usual bloody noses from the nasal inhalers. I can breath out of both sides of my nose, all day! No more nose twitching. I have a heart condition (bad arrhythmias) and high blood pressure to which none of it is affected by the allergy or asthma meds. I used to wake up in the morning with a hacky cough to clear some congestion, thats gone. I am the type of person that doesn't like to take medicine unless its really needed because of my heart and I have become such a believer of these meds for allergies and asthma I can easily recommend them. -
Also try Steaz, I ordered a case of the diet black cherry and it was really good ice cold. Here's there web site http://www.steaz.com/diet_beverages.html It's sweetened with Stevia.

Is it normal to have lots of gas and only be able to drink 1/4 cup of liquids maybe 3 or 4 times a day. Yes, Doctor Chau.

Princeton Medical Center. I really couldn't believe the type of care I was getting. If my wife wasn't there she'd never have believed it. She just gave birth to our daughter 3 1/2 weeks ago here at this hospital and the care was unbelievable. She was treated like royalty. Not me though at first. So maybe it was just a bad day there. It figures on my time.

I had my surgery on Tuesday Morning at 7:AM. Woke up at around 11:AM and was in horrible pain. Then was left in ICU for about 5 hours with not one person helping me. I started to get irate and my wife tried to calm me down. What was happening was I had herniated disks in my neck. When I came to after laying for so long on the operating table it must have irritated my disks horribly. I wish I had knew this could happen. I felt numbness and pain down my left arm into my hand. I couldn't move because of the surgery pain, neck pain and that they had IVs, electrodes connected to my chest, blood gas monitor, nasal canular, all in a bed with buttons on the outside that needed a key to operate. I not lying when I say no one came into my room in ICU in about 5 hours time. When my wife would ask for a nurse she said they were busy and to wait. I received no meds during this time. My doctor showed up because my wife called him down to the hospital. I then let him have it as well as the one male nurse that showed up. Needless to say after that blowup things got better care wise. I still today have to say I don't like what I went through. But I'm here now and on the road to a new life.

Hi, to everyone at the forum. I will be coming here quite alot from now on. I am having the lap-band done on 2/7/06. Also what a great site this is. 1] My question is after errosion can you do a rue-n-y procedure? 2] What do you feel caused the errosion? 3] Does this happen to everyone evenually or from a bad lap-band procedure? Current wieght 402lbs. Soon to be half a man.
