MGB V RNY weight loss
Jazzy1125 replied to New&Improved's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Each person is different. Keep in mind that different starting weights, different surgeries, different paces. The surgery is just a tool, and a part of the new life. Its totally up to the person with the tool to make the right choices with food, exercise and behaviors. I was sleeved on Nov 8th and there can be others who were bypassed on the same day.. Our weight loss depends on how we treat our tool..combined with our starting weights, and exercise routines. There are too many variables to make a decision on a surgery based on others results. Good Luck on your Journey. -
2.5 years post sleeve and major struggles

Your welcome. I am only 3 months out and the other night i skipped dinner.. not because i wanted to, but like you.. I was busy that day. I had work, straight to the gym, left the gym, straight to my ballroom dance classes.. Before surgery on a day like this.. I would have run through Mcdonalds or something to grab something. I know i cant now, so i just didnt eat dinner, also not a good habit..So to fix that ( Point of this post for you lol) is i bought some Quest Meal Replacement Bars.. not just the snack ones.. SO on a day where i am constantly on the go.. i can grab one and have my dinner in between places and still get my protein in.. It also gives me the sweet variety in case i wanted it.. but i never really did sweets beforehand. I would also track your carbs and not just measure your food. Try making sure you are not overdoing the carbs, sometimes its not how much we eat but what we eat.. Even though my NUT told me i can have 60 carbs a day. i confirmed with Dr. he wants less than 40.. I want less than 20.. So i try to intake as few as possible. Good Luck to you and reach out if you need any other support! -
I may get some of the Bio Oil myself. Most of mine without anything dont really look bad. The one where the stomach was removed is the one that looks like it needs some help. I look like i have a penny in the middle of my stomach LOL

I normally stick to one thing for 2 weeks, and then if it doesnt work.. move to something else.. UNTIL yesterday.. When the ducolax didnt work, at all i did a suppository.. and that only cleared a portion of it.. a few hours later i couldnt even sit or anything.. and i did the enema.. and that cleared some.. but i wasnt sure if it was ALL of it.. so i took the ducolax last night( Doctors orders were to take daily till my intestines kicked back in).. then this morning i woke up with the diarrhea. I did start the miralax this morning.. as a daily thing.. at least for now until i talk to my Doctor tomorrow. I may have had a blockage yesterday and its just now clearing out or something because when i started the ducolax.. My doctor said to do the enema.. then start ducolax daily.. I went to the bathroom on Tues.. due to enema, on Thursday, Sat, and Sun ( last week) due to ducolax.. then even though i was taking it daily.. I did not go to the bathroom again until yesterdays fiasco.

Good Luck on your Journey! Both responses cover everything i could possibly say.. The only thing i would add is if you had your surgery out of town.. check in with your local hospitals for a support group. I was lucky to find a very good one near where i live, when i had my surgery 3 hours away.. I now attend the support groups 2 WED a month. I really like it because each group is catered to the time frame of your surgery, and not like the other one i tried and it was not catered to my time but an overall meeting.. I hope you find some local support!

I am new to this Journey so i cannot speak from experience. I am not sure what exactly you are eating but try replacing those items that are veering you off the path with something else. If its the sweet thing at the store.. get something else sweet at the store like fruit in a cup or something. If its the after dinner snack along with the kids, start making them SF Jello with Fat Free cool whip. Go back to the alternatives. Instead of Pizza, do the cauli crust Pizza.. Sub one thing at a time so you dont feel like you are cheating yourself.. but make the changes before that 10 pounds turns to 20.. etc. Good Luck! -
I actually woke up with Diarrhea this morning. I dont know if its the ducolax i took last night..even though the night before it didnt help.. or the Quest Protein bar i had for dinner last night with 17g of fiber .. but i went 5 times this morning.. i have a feeling i will gain this week as i lost a lot of water this morning.

Good Luck! -
I havent bought anything from this site yet.. I am contemplating it, but i am trying to get a handle on what i am eating now. But i agree. but maybe those items are for the folks that have had surgery for a year out or so. I was told we can have pasta and rice and bread but after a year.

My plan allows for veggies but my stomach does not accomodate them well. By the time i am done with protein i am no longer hungry. I was told that what i dont eat in 30 min, to stop.. sometimes it takes me 45 just to get the protein in. I am going to eat less ounces of protein so i can get more veggies in.
-
This past week( mid week) i actually reduced my portions of protein to 2 ounces and was able to get some green beans in.. i am going to do that starting next week full time too to try and get veggies in.. I basically went three months on pure protein..

Go, I go.. But its an act of God to get it to pass... I am beyond frustrated at this point. I am going to try the MIralax daily.. starting today.. HOWEVER i woke up this morning with diarrhea. LOL Now i just dont know if its from the ducolax dosage last night OR the Quest bar i tried for dinner that has 21g protein and 17 fiber LOL... Life!
-
As odd as it sounds, I woke up with Diarrhea this morning. Now.. I dont know if its because of the ducolax i took last night or the quest protein bar i ate for dinner last night.

The soups look good. I seem to have an issue with solids/liquids at the same time.. they totally make me nauseous. I would have to blend everything.
-
I am always cold, but i was always cold before surgery so i dont notice a difference.. LOL.. PPL used to say to me.. your the only person that lives in Florida that i know.. that is cold all the time LOL

Good Luck on your Journey! I was self Pay so i did not have to go through all that. -
I have heard that the pasta and bread swell in the stomach. I would be afraid i would not eat more than a bite or two.. as it is now i can barely get in two ounces of protein.
-
my feet have gotten smaller, and my face looks like a different person.. my boobs havent moved, but my waist has some.. I am down from a 24/26 to a 16/18

I had the sleeve, but ED is correct, you will feel pressure in your sternum if you eat or drink too fast.. and then you will sit until it goes away.. small slow sips wins the race.. I still catch myself now at 3 months out drinking too fast.. at 3 sips back to back.. i kind hold the liquid in my mouth LOL.. to give it a small rest.

I am sorry to hear that, but at times I wish i had that. I just posted on my own thread.. I am tired of this once a week or 4x a month. I think i recall when i was eating sugar free chocolate from Russell Stovers.. the amount of sugar alcohols used to make me go to the bathroom a lot. I am seriously considering driving an hour to score some chocolate and make it a daily routine.. No worries.. last time i bought and ate it, i was on the Atkins... and it was part of my normal routine.. LOL.. but seriously.. something needs to give! -
1 Scoop of Vanilla Protein Powder 1 Egg 1 tsp baking powder 3 tbsp water Mix all ingredients together and cook in a waffle iron!!! Enjoy!
