Gained Weight Right After Surgery
Jazzy1125 replied to curlygirlgetsfit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its a learning process. I am still learning things at 10 months out and i myself did a lot of research. Thankfully nothing has taken me by surprise yet. Read the boards here.. even if they dont pertain to you. You will learn what others are going through, and how they handled or dealt with the situation, so when it comes about.. you will know what may or may not work and be able to push through it. I just learned last night that Larry and Lennys Complete Protein cookies are 2 servings for the 1 Cookie.. I dont eat them, I like Quest and LL is too high in sugar for me LOL.. But i had always wanted to try them.. now.. not a chance and no desire anymore to even try a nibble LOL. -
i have been sick the last two weeks. I was prescribed a nasal spray and prednisone.. other than that i havent taken anything else. It seems to be on the last days.. so hopefully it goes away soon.

Do you have BMI 36 or below and had surgery??
Jazzy1125 replied to Shaynazz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I cannot answer this question as i started at a much higher BMI.. but i did want to wish you luck in your decision. Make sure you are 100% informed of the lifestyle changes that come with surgery. I do not regret my surgery one bit, and as much as i thought i was informed, there were still things to learn along the way... Good Luck to you on your journey. -
I hope it gets better soon. I had the sleeve and do not recall growling. I do get a lot of air bubbles tho.

Gained Weight Right After Surgery
Jazzy1125 replied to curlygirlgetsfit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good Morning, I am glad you are being practical as well. The more we research and learn the easier the journey is. It by no means is easy but you will come to know what to expect and how to handle it as the days go by and not freak out when something does happen. Being informed is the best way to be! Congrats and welcome to the losers bench! -
I used Slim Fast only because my 2 week was pure shakes and chicken broth. My dr wanted me on Lower Protein so i could consume more as his max was 100 a day.. so that allowed me to have 5-6 shakes a day if i was feeling hungry. His was no food at all for the 2 weeks.

Congratulations! I have a few months to go to hit 1 year!

Good Morning all, Any Floridians in here? I am searching for some folks that are local to get together, hang out, and support one another. I do attend a support group here and they are great, but most of the folks support there, doesnt flow over. I am hoping to find ppl to bounce ideas off of, maybe go to the gym together and that sort of stuff. I know i am wierd LOL.. To all those here that are not Floridians.. Love you too.. dont want you to all feel left out. LOL

Congratulations

Good Morning lovely folks! I finally hit 100 down since surgery. I am 9 and a half months post op. Down 120 total! Super excited.. For those of you just beginning this journey you can and will make it. I still have about 50 to go to my goal, but i am getting there little by little. I am hoping at the year mark to be less than 30 to goal! I will be ok with that.. because i know i will eventually hit my goal no matter the duration. Keep the faith, be strong, and stay on path.. dont compare yourself to others because this is your journey and yours alone. You will learn things as you go, your body will adjust and keep on moving.. Here is to the next 50!

candy barrrrsss *super trooper voice*
Jazzy1125 replied to mousecat88's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I will have to try it. -
i am not sure how long the 3 week stall lasts.. just keep plugging along and you will see the change. Also do not weigh daily. You will drive yourself nuts... Stick to weighing once a week. A stall is a stall if it last more than 2 weeks.. you mentioned a few days.. you could still drop before the end of your week and it would not be a stall

LOL Mouse!! Bad Bad Bad LOLOL.. I did that once with 3 sips of a chocolate milkshake from Hard Rock cafe.. I sipped it halfway to car.. got in car.. looked at my friend and said.. We are not making it out of parking lot.. Nope not making it to the end of this parking row and had to pull my car over.. Lesson learned LOL. -

Dr. Shillingford is great. I will tell you he does not sugar coat LOL.. but that is the good thing, after all we are doing something major to our bodies. He did an awesome job. FYI- he does not take pics of the stomach unless you ask him before surgery. I did ask to see if he had mine and thats when i found out he doesnt take them unless the patient asks beforehand. I live in central florida so i do not go down to Boca for my follow ups.. i do them by phone consult and i have joined a support group here near home. Let me know if you have any questions or anything.. i am glad to help.

good Luck! Welcome to the losers bench!

Kinda doing this solo. My family is all out of state. I have my adult children, but my son turned to the food police right after surgery, so i had to put him in his place fast. LOL.. My daughter supports me, but we dont really talk about it much. I do have my best friends that live out of town that i can talk to over the phone and i also go to the support group meetings here in town.

find a hobby that is exercise. Mine.. Ballroom dancing. Absolutely fell in love with it and it is the reason i had the surgery.. so i could participate in competitions. I do not regret a moment of it! I dont worry about going to the gym or for long walks because i am on that dance floor a few nights a week and get my workout there. It doesnt even feel like exercise LOL.. Keep plugging along and reach out should you need support. After all that is what we are all here for.
