Tomorrow I am off to the Dr. to get my stitches out! I get them out 2 days early due to my 2 week post op falling on Thanksgiving. I am excited for this appointment and have lots of good questions lined up for him. As of this morning i am down a total of 27.6 pounds and 7.6 since surgery. I am OK with this for two reasons.. Today i had to take Swift Kriss for constipation LOL.. So i hope it kicks in before morning. Also, I gained 13.6 during surgery. I am not sure if there is anymore surgery swelling to drop or not. Either way for a few days, once i hit break even ( Thursday-1 week post op) then it dropped almost 2.5 pounds for 2 days in a row and then 1.8 and 1.2.. I am sure it will balance out somewhere and shouldn't be more than a pound a day i would think. Will see all what he says tomorrow.

Good Luck to you! -
I would also look at what % of those calories are Carbs, Proteins, and Fat intake. Those figures are equally important.

Did they say why they cancelled it? I would do a walk in appt if you feel he cancelled it on purpose. They have to see you they cannot refuse medical treatment. -
Lost too much weight
Jazzy1125 replied to Noworneverthin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with other posters. If you keep dropping you need to contact your team and they may have you eat a bit differently to gain a little back. I have always thought the happy medium was to find the balance to where you werent losing nor gaining to maintain. I am not sure though as i have never been there, but your dr would know best. Keep us posted! -
Congrats!

I have been getting a small rash on my neck. It seems to go away and then comes back. I plan on asking the Dr. about it but it started around the same time that he had me start back on the blood thinners while i am home.. (I have 9 more days of that). Now yall have me wondering. I am not sure what keto rash is, but if whatever this rash is that keeps appearing and disappearing has nothing to do with the blood thinners, i will be ok with that LOL.

4 week post-op weight loss meltdown
Jazzy1125 replied to KT1981's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Keep up the work and the results will follow. I am about 2 weeks behind you and am just catching up with my weight loss from week of surgery as i gained 14 during surgery. On my one week post op date, i broke even, meaning i was back to surgery date weight. Since then its been falling at 2.5 pounds a day( Friday and Today- though it has been doing this 2.5 daily for about 5 days total), but i am gathering that is just my weight playing catch up and not every loss since surgery was pure surgery liquid weight. I figure this will level off by Tuesday or Wednesday next week and then it will fall into a normal weight loss.. Not quite sure since i am a newbie! -
I am still on liquids till Turkey Day. I will start Puree that day. Your scrambled egg with spinach (not sure about the cottage lol) sounds really good. As odd as it sounds i ok on the liquid for now. No hurry to move past it. I wonder if i am becoming leary of having food due to all the stories i see on here about people upchucking it. Tonight i took out a can of cream of mushroom to try strained.. but honestly and a bit nervous to do so.

My Nutritionist said the other day, that my diet should be cut in 3's caloric wise. My 60-80 gram of Protein, will be half my calories ( I have the numbers at work she called during the day and i left them there as i am still on liquids) and the other half is Carbs/Fat. I do know the carb calories 240 turned into 60 carbs a day, and i dont remember the fat as my conversation with her was the Carbs, but she did say each gram of fat was 9 calories. Anyways, I am going to check with my dr. on my post op appt on Tuesday, I thought 60 was super high! Maybe it is me, but when i did the Atkins diet it was no more than 20 carbs a day... I dont know but that is the one thing i will make sure i check with my Dr. on when i go for my post op, stitches removal.

Keep Walking! I had/have more gas than i ever thought was possible. With every sip down.. comes a burp up. Tooting has become a regular part of my day. I am hoping this tooting ends soon.. I have my post op Appt on Tuesday so i will ask my Dr when i can expect it to be all gone LOL..I am 9 days post op! So far the only discomfort i have experienced was two nights in a row.. i think i drank my dinner too fast and there was a lot of pressure in my chest that took 30 min to subside. Now I am trying to drink my evening protein shake slower.

Welcome! Good Luck on your approval! I hope all goes well and you are able to get the surgery in this year as well. You will find a lot of support here and people that understand what you are going through. I am new here myself as i am Self Pay and just decided to have the sleeve done at the end of Sept, and Sleeved by November 8th. So far all has been well... To new beginnings!
-
WOW! I unfortunately cannot give feedback on this as the sleeve i had done on the 8th is the very first surgery i have ever had. I would for sure pursue it especially if you have proof and documentation of what this new Dr. is saying. You dont have to have this dr say anything about that one, BUT you do have a right to your medical records, and this Dr. I would believe, MUST notate in your medical records everything they are telling you, and i would believe with supporting documentation on something like this.

Full liquid diet. Had tomato soup and feel drunk. Anyone experience this?
Jazzy1125 replied to Martha88's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
IS Tomato Soup Part of Liquid? I know some cream soups are, but i guess that would be one. I am 9 days post op and today i took out cream of mushroom soup.. but have yet to make it. I have been doing so well with the tastes and ability for the liquids that i am nervous to add back food. I am actually in the middle of drinking my dinner. Once i get all my protein in and water in for the day which will be accomplished when i am done with dinner.. I may attempt it. I do not have the confidence yet to try it. I have seen so many stories of peoples stomachs rebuking stuff, i dont want to try it lol. -

Ladies: How has surgery affected your cycle?
Jazzy1125 replied to 🅺🅸🅼🅼🅸🅴🅺's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I will have to wait to provide a true answer on this one however.. The night before Surgery mine decided to make an appearance! Lordy Lordy... But for a cycle that is normally 5 days.. It was present day one ( night before surgery), day 2( day of Surgery), Day 3.. Pretty Much ran away, Day 4.. Decided to make small appearance, day 5.. it started to be like i had just given birth LOLOL.. Different, but not really there. And then whala.. gone. So i actually believe the surgery affected it even when it was present during surgery the total thing was different from day 2 to day 5. Will see if there is any difference. -
2 weeks out complications... ulcers.
Jazzy1125 replied to mousecat88's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Mouse, I do not have an ulcer but i am really sorry to hear you are going through all this. I am one week and one day post op today. Keep us posted on how you are doing. It will get better and before you know it you will be back on track! -
Sit back and really think about the reason you want to postpone. I know you have been struggling with the pre op diet and thinking you werent going to have enough time. Please know that this decision to have the surgery is a lifetime committment, not just a few months. You need to be sure you are truly ready to make the change, when that happens, you wont second guess your decision. You might have a few fears, but the decision will be firm. In my case, I wanted this surgery in 2004.. I did the weight loss diet supervised and all that, then one of my employees was in a motorcycle accident in November and i postponed it. Christmas came, and I got promoted and my boss asked me to wait till end of 1st quarter.. i did. Unfortunately effective Jan 2005.. The insurance no longer covered it. I was out of luck. Today.. I am financially able to be a self pay and decided to do it. Once that decision was made. I quit smoking the next day, because my surgeon required 30 days smoke free before he would do surgery. That decision was made Sept 21, 2018. My first Appt for a consult after doing all my research was on Oct 3rd. Pre ops done Oct 10th, Oct 25 started my liquid diet, and November 8th I was sleeved. I do not regret my decision and never faltered along the way once the decision was made, and i did what i needed to do to accomplish the task. Of course i thought about eating during the pre op diet, but i didnt cave in. You really need to assess your true reasons for postponing. My guess, is your not ready to break your relationship with food because you want to wait until after the holidays. If it was a question of the pre op diet, you would postpone a week or so instead. Think about if you are ready to make the lifetime commitment. If so, There is always another Thanksgiving and Christmas and you can always make something to suit your diet needs at the time to fit in.. the holidays after all are about spending time with family, not necessarily what we are going to eat, though it can be a part if it. If the answer is that you are not ready to make the commitment, then postpone is not the word i would use, I would suggest cancelling it until you are ready and feel you can keep to the commitment. This surgery is a big investment in yourself and only you can know if you are truly ready to invest in yourself at this time. If the answer is yes, then it is totally worth it on the other side. Good Luck to you whatever you decide!

Fluffy- What app is this from? I really like the breakout of your food log.

1 week post op liquids questions
Jazzy1125 replied to TomCruzMomShoes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I only had first two days of clear, then full liquids for two weeks ( still on this phase). My Dr. has everything in two week intervals. my two week of full liquids ends on thanksgiving then i am on two weeks of puree, then two weeks of soft.. and finally.. right before Christmas.. i am at full solids!
